But, on a different note, can anyone explain why being perhaps 1/64 to 1/1024th part native American matters?
Shouldn't you be asking Trump about this? After all it was he who felt compelled to make up some slang name and make fun of her for it. Like he does to almost anyone who opposes him or he feels threatened by. And, also, what does this prove? That Trump was wrong. And, someone pointed out that to receive fed. benefits, a person needs to be at least 1/32nd native American? Is that correct? I'm asking, not 'telling' with that question. to qualify for benefits yes. To prove you have some native American blood, no. I would guess she also has some african ancestry in her blood. And European: French, German, etc. Most of us probably do. I'm not looking to argue or fight. Just curious why it matters. Maybe because Trump made a mockery of her for stating she had some native American blood.

I'm not looking to argue or fight. Just curious why it matters. I'll give it a try. I guess it matters because it was turned into a political tool/weapon during the last campaign. Now, it's a thing. The infantile name-calling by then-candidate Stump made it a political football. Warren was called out in public, mocked, and challenged to provide proof. This is her response. She was also promised that should proof be provided, her challenger would donate 1M to the charity of her choice. So... that's kind of a public issue now, because D00D wouldn't stop hammering the whole 'Pocahontas' thing for over a year while on the campaign trail. So it may not be an issue for you (or me either, in the grand scheme of things), but it really is for others. Because public figures making public statements should be held to account, no matter how grand or small the subject. .02 Got it. Thanks. So her possible 1/1024th native American heritage isn't an issue, other than to make Trump look bad, because he said she wasn't a native American, but she comes up with "I'm possibly......" as proof. If the 2016 election has any clear lesson, it’s that you have to run for something , you can’t merely run against something. The correct path to anyone challenging Trump is to merely point out that he’s a brain dead racist kook and move on with your own vision (of which Warren has offered little).
