I hope we find a way to keep Drew as head coach .. just give him the money that he'd deserve the fact that they are playing games with him tells me all i need to know about gilbert and altman..they can't get out of their own way.. Not impressed with cavs FO since griff left. Why is it playing games though? They want an interim coach until they can find a full-time replacement. Drew wants to be signed on as actual multi-year head coach. If he's not in the plans to be a long-term replacement, why would they offer him multiple years to just hold the reigns? Although, if the Cavs are expecting him to coach out the rest of the season, then it was pretty dumb to have fired Lue after only 6 games. If he was on that short of a leash, they should of started the process in the summer.

See Thibodeau, Tom on how to handle a trade demand. How much is Altman hamstrung by Gilbert though? Gilbert's burned through head coaches and GM's at about the same rate as Haslam. The Irving trade isn't happening without Gilbert signing off.

JR Smith has asked to be traded. Link I don't blame him. We know this season will be rough and he can still help a team win (off the bench). Is this how the fire sale begins?

I don'b blame JR either. The team has basically told him they aren't going to play him at all and they don't even care if he shows up anymore. He could essentially sit home and they wouldn't care.

Eve, I think you said the other day you'd like to go see the Cavs and sit curtsied sometime. This is the year to do it. The other day when the Cavs played the Haws, seats near mid-court on the floor and row 1 went for $130/ticket on Flashseats. Last year those seats were over $2k/ticket and well over that during marquee games. Might as well do a couple games of floor seats for those prices!

Yep. $130/ticket was the asking price. They may have actually sold for less.
Seats in section 1, row 1 behind the baskets were going for an asking price of $140/ticket.
Obviously, games against the Warriors, Lakers, Houston will go for more, but for the most part people are just trying to unload them.

JR Smith has asked to be traded. Link I don't blame him. We know this season will be rough and he can still help a team win (off the bench). Is this how the fire sale begins? A quick snippet from Joe Vardon's article in The Athletic on the situation..... Smith headed to training camp aware that playing time was not guaranteed. And after two games, he, Kyle Korver and Channing Frye were told by Altman and Lue that they would not play, as their court time goes to the teamβs younger players. That story was first reported by The Athletic.
After one game of that, though, Lue decided on his own to reinsert Korver and Smith into the rotation. While Korverβs been OK, Smith went 0-of-7 in a loss to the Pistons with two turnovers. He played just six minutes in Lueβs final game β a 12-point loss to the Pacers. Heβs averaging 2.5 points, is shooting 23 percent from the field and hasnβt made a 3 this season.
βI had a conversation with him about it, too,β Smith said. βI told him I donβt want to put him in a position where he had to lose his job. This was before he got fired. He said the hell with it and did what he wanted to do and what he was comfortable with doing and I respect him for it. But at the same time I donβt think it should have cost him his job.β

You need to do this! Later in the year, I suspect it will be cheaper still.
Maybe you get a luxury spot topside. Oh, you wanted courtside, I forgot. Hope it happens for you.

I'll miss JR. He really matured over these past few years. It's really been amazing to watch. As much as everyone remembers the block, shot and stop, I remember Golden State a few minutes out of halftime with an 8 point lead, all the momentum, and ready to step on the gas like they had done so many times that year. But then JR nailed two big three pointers and Kyrie made a layup within about 30 seconds. Just like that, their lead was completely erased, it really knocked the wind out of their sails and I think they played a little tighter after that. If JR doesn't make those shots, we probably lose by 30.

More evidence of a terribly run organization. Gilbert/Altman are as bad as Haslam.

I find the Cavs to have less chance to get out of the hole than the Browns, and I don't put much faith in either haha

I said that after the first few games that I don't think Sexton is NBA ready yet. He's just not good, over drafted. His hustle and moxy got him by in college and summer league. But dude might be the worst of the rookie PGs by a mile and if he's rebuffing help from vets.. i get rid of him now. I said in the beginning of season he should have been in dleague where he could win more and not have the pressure to produce now. I think this cavs FO might rival what the browns have had in ineptitude. Not a fan of gilbert/altman at all. Way too much meddling and neither have a clue. Gonna be a rough season. So much drama and no leadership. Its what happens when you have a team of sheep and the wolf has been taken away

It's tough to be a PG and be ball dominant when you don't have a good feel for the game ... and can't shoot lol
