after some time he begins to want to enter these pits---his pits; into some kind of competition to prove their dominance over others. He turns to dogfighting to validate his dog' superiority over others of the like
There is no proof either way but i'll bet he has been around and has pitted a dog before he was 18 . This is not something you just wake up and jump into it takes years and years to understand and get into something like that..Plus Vicks father admitted to Vick having a dog fight hosted at his dads house when he was at V.T.
Quote:
He turns to childhood friends, his "boys" to run the organization--he purchases the property, the dogs, the equipment, the food, and provides the money behind it. Its up to his boys to maintain the facilities, the dogs, set-up fights, and negotiate the purse---the money that they are able to earn is theirs---and Vick is all for helping his "boys" bank some cash.
I think he did pay for all the dogs and treadmills and all the day to day stuff for the dogs. But whatever Vick bet and when he won he won his money back and the pot ,When he lost he lost his money and had to pay the guys that took care of the dogs bet .
Quote:
and Vick is all for helping his "boys" bank some cash. This to me---is Vicks involvement
He paid them $3,000.00 a month to take care the dogs ..
Quote:
mainly because of two things. First, he BELIEVES that his involvement is scant enough that he can minimize the damage by simply distancing himself from the house--hence all the quotes about how little time he spends at the house, and his cousin living there. Secondly, he believes that eventually his boys are going to take the fall for this madness.
HE might have thought it but , IF it wasn't for Vick none this would have happened or went half as far as it did. His money caused this .

eventually his boys are going to take the fall for this madness. He believes that his "boys" will demonstrate a sort of loyalty to him since he basically bankrolled this to put money in there pocket
That's were every criminal makes a mistake , You threaten jailtime they sing faster then a contestent on American Idiol..
Quote:
Now, I think that Vick is being honest in the claim that he wasn't a beneficiary of the gambling
IN the discovery ,It say's that Vick won the purse on % of the fights , On the first fight it says they Phillips& Taylor split the pusre.

because that is not who Mike Vick is
It ain't?????
Who is he then ? This is not his first time doing this , He has done it for years.. For him to have dog's with those pedigree's and have them in that kind of shape for fight's It is someone who has done this for a little while .
This is not someone who just took a dog off the chain and fought it , They took months ,Yes MONTHS to get them dogs in shape for a fight ,It takes a while to learn how to do that kind of stuff on a high level. Vick the ringleader of BAD NEWZ KENNELS ,he funded them and even if he was not in the pit with the dogs he is as quilty as anyone . He was part of a criminal enterprise or illegal operation . He is lucky they don't slam him with a R.I.C.O. charge..

I'd be willing to bet that the Falcons will sue Vick for repayment of a significant portion of his signing bonus because he breached his contract. They'll win too .... because it's really easy to prove a behavior clause has been broken when the party in question is sitting in prison following a guilty plea.

I don't think there is any question about that. I don't want bad things to happen to anyone normally, but in this case, I want him to hurt,,, and hurt alot. I want him broke or way closer to it than he is at this moment. I want him to be banned for life from Football,, At least the NFL.. when he gets out of prison, if some flunky arena league teams wants him,, they can have him for all I care.
He's very lucky I'm not the one deciding his fate

sad thing is, he'll be going to some cushy fed prison. BUT, because of double jeapordy i don't think VA, or GA can prosecute him again for the same charges he pled guilty to, but they could always decide to indite him on other charges. There is so much muddy water concerning this case that you almost believe they are already wading through it to find something. especially when they know they have such willing witnesses

The Atlanta Falcons will attempt to reclaim $22 million in bonuses already paid to Michael Vick, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported Saturday, citing an unnamed source with knowledge of the team's plans. Vick was suspended indefinitely from the National Football League on Friday, hours after he filed a plea agreement with federal prosecutors in which he admitted to bankrolling a dogfighting operation. The suspension clears the way for the Falcons to pursue bonus payments already made to Vick. However, Vick must remain on the Falcons' roster for the club to reclaim any money -- precluding the team from cutting ties with the quarterback until the matter is resolved, the person familiar with the situation told the newspaper. If Atlanta receives the bonus money from Vick, it will be applied to the team's salary cap for the following season. If, for example, the team recouped all $22 milllion, that figure would be credited to the team for the 2008 salaray cap. On Friday, Vick filed his plea agreement in federal court admitting to conspiracy in a dogfighting ring and agreeing that the enterprise included killing pit bulls and gambling. He denied making side bets on the fights, but admitted to bankrolling them. He will appear in U.S. District Court on Monday in Richmond, Va. to formally enter his plea. http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2991048

What was he thinking.
I am a multimillionaire, I like to watch dogfighting. I set up my friends with some dogs and we will have some fun.
the money was irrelevant to Vick. sorta like me or you spending 100 dollars to go out for a dinner and a movie.
I seriously doubt that he considered the consequences of his illegal "entertainment activity" until he was linked to it.
Welcome back, Joe, we missed you!
