Week 8 was a good one. Won all double up and split the head to heads. I didn't play in any tournaments as I was too busy to devote the necessary time I normally do. I made the cash line on the last play of the LAR/GB game with Gurley's run. Phew! I made a rookie mistake...I panicked and went away from Mahomes/Lindsay and went to Keenum/Hunt at the last minute. I wanted to force in the three RBs I liked without considering the volume Lindsay was going to get. I mean I guess Hunt could have had a better day but it kept me from Mahomes who I was on all week. I liked Keenum because he was cheap, the KC D is bad, and figured they be passing a ton. Oh well, still made it out alive.

Much better week for me on both sites ... cut down on the number of games i played ... will ramp back up this week ... learning a lot ...

On dk i played 3 contests in begginers world ...

My “gpp” was a 1189 contestant field that paid 296 places ... i scored 150.44 and came in 315th place ... that sounds like the bare minimum score u aim for in cash games but a very poor gpp score .... is that correct? ...

Played a 124 player $5 double up .... 162.62 was my best score ...

Mahomes
Conner - all my lineups
Hunt - all my lineups
Lindsay - all my lineups
Boyd
Golladay
Sutton
Njoku - all my lineups ...
Steelers

I went with the rb’s for volume .... got off Gurley so i could pay up for Boyd ... was a small loss or a wash ... Boyd kicked butt but hunt didn’t do so well ... guess he didnt do that bad .. a little pricey but paying down for Boyd worked out well ...

One move that hurt was paying down for sutton so i could move up from OJ to Njoku ... OUCH ...

Please critique my above lineup ... what u may have done different and why ...

If u could also share your lineups and how u arrived at them .. what were your decisions and why did u go that why ...

Ty sir ... thumbsup

Cashed in my $5 double up and n my $1 double up si brought in $12 on $7 in entry fees .... deposited 25 and am at $35.93 ... so i’m Up 10.93 over about 6 weeks ... gonna venture out into big boy world next week ... just dab my toes in ...

Be back in a bit to do fanduel Vers ... u know there pricing ,,,

How’d u do Monday night? ... what plays did u make that didn’t pan out and why did u make them? ...

Here’s how i did on FD ... will give my lineups and explain why .... PLEASE TELL ME WHAT U WOULD HAVE DONE DIFFERENT AND WHY ... i really want to pick your brian here ....

Please don’t hold back ... be as honest as u would be with your son ... break it down bro your not going to hurt my feelings ...

I cashed in all 4 contests i played in ... it was my best week score wise overall by far ...

132.7
143.22
154.9
169.9

2 paid contests and 2 free contests .... laid out 7 and won 14 in the paid contests ... won another 2.63 in the beat the score and the free contest ... ventured out into the big boys for a $5 double up ....

My best line up ...

Dalton
Conner - in all line ups
Lindsey - in all line ups
D. Johnson
Sutton
AJ Green
Boyd - in all lineups
OJ Howard
Bungles

Gurley was way to high priced on FD and i wanted to cram the RB’s i thought would get the volume .... rolled the dice on leftowich calling plays and he was only slightly better ... this was my bungles stack ... Sutton had the game script i thought he might he just wasn’t targeted ... i needed to go low to fit in Conner. Lindsey, Johnson and Boyd ... he didn’t work out ..

I also played Goff and Mahomes at QB ...

Had some Kerryon (dissapointment), Hunt and Duke at rb .... obvioulsy Duke was a major dissapointment ...

Played some Allison, Humphrey’s, Evans, Golladay at WR ... Evans worked out well the rest were bad fliers ... not so good ...

Played Njoku at te along with Kelce in one ...

PLEASE CRITIQUE ... want to hear what u would have done different and why ...

Can u please post one of your lineups from last week and tell me what u did and why ... and what the trade offs were ...

VERS ... same from u please ... if u could make it in the contest where u had he largest number of games to pick from ... not sure how much if any of the sunday 1 and 4 combined game slate u play but thats what i’m The most familiar with ... so i figure the closer u are to my game format the more i may be able to glean from it ...

DK Cash Lineup (the only lineup I made)- 146.98

QB: C. Keenum: 17.38
RB: T. Gurley: 36.50
RB: J. Conner: 41.20
WR: T. Gabriel: 9.20
WR: J. Nelson: 2.40
WR: J. Kearse: 6.00
TE: V. McDonald: 7.70
FL: K. Hunt: 19.60
DF: Steelers: 7.00

My WRs were pretty bad. I picked Nelson because of the Cooper trade and thought he would get a ton market share in the passing game. I went back to Kearse for the same reasons I went to him the week before, althought it wasn't as good of a matchup. Both Enunwa and Anderson were out. After the news of Robinson being out and the wind picking up in CHI, I thought target share would be higher and he would also get a lot of shorter route passing his way. Keenum allowed me to get the RBs in great spots, I should have just picked Mixon over Hunt. Still, I made the cash lines, so I cannot be too upset.

Thanks for sharing ...

Gurley and Conner and Hunt were the reason u had no cash to spend on your wr’s and u just made the wrong picks down there ... just like i did ...

I almost went back to Kearse also ... also almost went with Miller ... as u well know .. if the players u choose to pay up for do well if u hit on the guys u paid down on thats when your scores blow up ...

U said u made the cash line .. whats that mean? ...

The podcasts i been watching all the dudes seem to shoot for a cash lineup that scores 150 ... do u have a target score in mind ... is that what the cash line is or are they not the same thing? ...

Meaning my lineup was at or above the line to double up in cash games.

Yeah, 150 on DK sounds right. 3x the salary cap. You'd be surprised how many of those podcasters don't get near that number. I play them in head-to-heads all the time. Easy money! tongue

I lost by 0.7 of a point on Monday night. Needed Clay to get one more catch.

Bro, you did better than I did this week w/your overall scores. I sure as hell can't give you advice. I sucked. I got lucky and hit two contests to keep the damage to a minimum, but my lineups were bad. Both of my all day lineups sucked. The only two I won was one single game lineup w/5 players and I won a 10 player contest in the 4:05 games.

Diam, I know we try and spend down at TE in cash but are you trying to fit in Kelce this weekend? I know I am...there doesn't seem to be many cheap options this week.

No ... i’m fine with either Olsen or Howard ... playing them along with Sutton and DJ Moore allows me to cram Gurley, McCaffery and Lindsay in and not be forced to play t’quan Smith in it ...

Right now ... i have 5 lineups ...

Goff ... Cam split 3/2 ...

Lots ot Gurley, McCaffery, Sutton and DJ Moore ...

Lindsey, Hunt and Duke sprinkled in along with Cupp, Golladay, Funchess, Watkins and Smith from NO’s ..

Who u locked in on and who u deciding between and why? ..

U don’t like Olson this week? ...

Vikes signed a war off the practice squad today ... Diggs downgraded to doubtful .... he’s out for all intents and purposes ... its just not official yet ...

Should i wait til Monday to ask who you played and who u liked? ... u feel better waiting til after the week to talk about that stuff? ...

I took Kelce in one contest because good TEs give us a problem. I also took Hunt in two and the Chiefs D in two.

I took a flyer on Treadwell because of the Diggs' situation in one league.

I went w/Golladay in two because they traded Tate away. I took Marvin Jones in another.

Still have another six lineups to do.

Like Kelce also .. just don’t want to pay up for him ...

Like the treadwell idea ... may have to use it in a few ... love Golladay and Jones ...

Here’s one of mine .. PLEASE CRITIQUE and tell me what u would do different and why please .. i wanna learn ... i feel i now know enough to contribute so please ask me anything if you’d like ... its a $5 ... 500 player double up ... top 250 get paid ... not a begginers tourny ...

Newton
Kamara
McCaffery
Gurley
T. Smith (NO)
DJ Moore
C. Sutton
Njoku
Bills

Had to pay down for Njoku and the Jills and the 3 WR’s to fir the 3 RB’s in ... newton fit in that lineup ...

I’m risking everything on the three RB’s ... i think thats the fantasy trait i need to get away from in dfs .. *L* ...

Let me know what u would do different and why please ...

Is Higgins to risky to play today? .. i really wanna stick him in a few lineups on DK .. that move would allow me to cram in the 3 RB’s there also ..

Thoughts? ...

It's only my third week of playing daily fantasy, so I don't really feel comfortable giving advice yet. However, we ended up having fairly similar line ups, based on DJ Moore, Sutton and Higgins. I think they're all steals as well.

My primary line up this week is:

Mahommes
Hunt
AP
Thielan
Moore
Sutton
Higgins
OJ Howard
Bears D

I haven't played enough games to really key in on the strategies I should be playing. So I'm just trying to find a bunch of undervalued guys, while sniping other top tier players with the extra saved money. It doesn't give me that great of a chance at tournaments, but for double up, I've been placing regularly in the top 25%

U play on dk or fanduel or both? ...

My guess is sutton and Moore are two of the highest owned recievers ... everyones gonna pay down for them ... just depends on who they aquire with that extra salary ....

I love my rb’s .... i they and cram them in every week ...

I have gurley. McCaffery in almost all my lineups ... have a lot of Lindsey also ...

Dang ... top 25% ... that way better than me and i’m A seasoned vet compared to u .. *L* ..

DK. I haven't played in enough games for those stats to really be meaningful. like maybe 15 or so with 8 competitions for today.

Yeah the RBs can be a good bet. At least you're staying with ones who are receiving backs as well.

I just made a change to a few of my line ups by adding the Jets D. It's rainy and Brock Osweiler is the other team's QB.

I'm not to hardcore into daily but I play in one big tournament per week on fan duel.

Newton
Hunt
Crowell
Hill
Kupp
Sutton
Njoku
Thielen
Bills

I usually go receiver in my flex since it's .5 ppr there. How do you guys usually play the flex?

Good thing I played Michael Thomas ... wow

"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Jeudy is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Tillman is flanked out wide to the right. Judkins and Ford are split in the backfield as Flacco takes the snap ... Here we go."

Week 9 Recap:

I probably had my best week so far this season. Overall I had a 108% return. Made the cash line in all single entry double up and won most head-to-heads. The difference this week, I finally had a good tournament week with a 256% return. My approach with the tournaments was pretty simple. I played almost everyone in the NO-LAR game in various combos in all lineups because of the high game total, had 100% of Kelce because he was in a phenomenal spot, roughly 50% of Duke because he was also in a phenomenal spot but wasn't sure how much he would be used, and had a splattering of Hunt.

In cash games, I came off Kelce once news broke that Diggs was out and plugged in Rudolph. It allowed me to have Gurley, Kamara, and McCaffrey/Hunt. The McCaffrey/Hunt decision came down to the wire but in the end I went with CMC. Both plays worked out fine.

Cash Game Lineup: 160.94
QB. J. Goff- 33.34
RB: T. Gurley- 19.90
RB: C. McCaffrey- 32.70
WR: M. Jones- 12.60
WR: T. Smith- 10.30
WR: C. Sutton- 8.70
TE: K. Rudolph- 4.80
FL: A. Kamara- 33.60
DF: Broncos- 5.00

Best Tournament Lineup- 223.94
QB: D. Brees- 34.44
RB: A. Kamara- 33.60
RB: D. Johnson- 29.60
WR: M. Thomas-42.10
WR: B. Cooks- 26.40
WR: C. Kupp- 19.90
TE: T. Kelce- 28.90
FL: P. Barber- 6.00
DF: Steelers- 3.00

As I mentioned, most of my lineups were a LAR-NO game stack. But paying for all of those players left little room for other noteworthy guys. I thought Peyton Barber might get a few extra receptions and possibly get a TD while Baltimore was without their two starting tackles or something like that...figured that was a decent route to go with only $2.3K remaining for a defense and I had a lot of exposure to the Broncos D at the same price + their ownership was higher. This lineup placed 299th out of 500,000 entries. For that large of a contest, it might be the best I've placed. Only 30 pts off the winning lineup and a $100,000 prize. eek

Oh well, on to Week 10.

Very early Week 10 observations:

- My mind wanders over the to the RBs first each week to try and see which high end plays are in good spots. I think Todd Gurley's price came down a couple hundred from week-to-week. If not, it barely changed He is playing at home against Seattle, the Rams are currently favored by 10 with an implied game total of 51.5. It might be a nice bounce back game for LAR. Kareem Hunt and KC are a 17 point favorite (this might be an error on the site I'm seeing), they are also playing at home with a 50 implied total. If the team gets way ahead, Spencer Ware might be a good pivot in tournaments. OAK has given up so I might look to play any RB against them and Melvin Gordon is a good one. He is on my radar. Duke Johnson, again, is in a great spot going up against a ATL defense who gives up so many points to pass-catching RBs. His lack of usage so far might make him a stretch in cash games, but I will definately have some of Duke in tournaments at least.

- At QB, Dalton is $5.8K going against NO that gives up so many points in the passing game. This game currently has the highest game total at 55. Philip Rivers at $6.0K against OAK is also in a great spot. In tournaments, you can never go wrong with Mahomes at $7.2K.

At TE, I think both TEs in the CLE-ATL game are in great spots. Njoku is simply the better player and gets more targets, which is why he is $400 more on DK. Ben Watson could be a sneaky tournament play in a high game total.

Haven't jumped into WRs yet. I usually wait to break them down later in the week based on injuries to a team on either side of the ball.

*** RECENCY BIAS ALERT ***

Ray Farmer's first true love appears to be healthy, will be going up against a NE team and will be throwing a bunch (hopefully) playing from behind, seems to have his running equity back, DK didn't adjust his price in Week 10 because he played last night, and at $4.7K lets you get a ton of good players.

nanner Cash Game QB = Marcus Mariota nanner

What was the cash line this week?

The cash line varies week to week and contest to contest. In one $50 single-entry double up I entered, the line was 152.48. In another $50 single-entry double up (based on a different amount of entries) the cash line was 153.08 it looks like. In a $5 single entry double up, the line was also 152-something. So with those three as examples, just North of 150 seemed to be the line to make cash in Week 9. And even at the lower end of the cash line teams didn't fully double up in certain instances. They got $75-$80 in the $50 double up because so many people at the bottom had the same lineup total and they split the final placing allotment among more players. So it was 150-ish this week but I believe it was 190-ish Week One...it's all about what players are picked, how many of the same players are in many cash lineups, and if they make value. The more highly owned players make value, the higher the cash line, normally. If there is a more evenly distributed pool of players worthy of cash games, it may lower the amount. But like we said, aiming for 150 is usually a good strategy.

When do they adjust the price? Bengals signed Auden Tate from their practice on Friday and I think he'll be heavily used on Sunday.

they being dk.

DK usually comes out with pricing sometime between after the Sunday Night game is over and early Monday morning, and once the price is set, that's it. That's why people rely so much on injury information in case a starter goes down, for obvious reasons. And in Week One, they usually release pricing before pre-season starts and DK doesn't know what a player will do for a particular team...that's usually when value is at it's highest.

But to be more specific, when I said "adjust the price" I refer to DK usually being a week behind adjusting the price of a player to fit based on value/role. For example, Tyler Boyd. Even after Boyd's first breakout game this season, DK barely adjusted the price to fit his role with the Bengals and alot people, especially playing cash games, went right back to him the following week. Often times you can ride a player out for a couple of weeks before pricing adjusts to where you need to think about it more. I can't comment on FanDuel because I don't play there, but I've heard their team does a better job reacting sooner to pricing increases or decreases based on role/value.

FYI- I don't see Auden Tate as a selectable player this week.

Since there are a few more people chiming in recently, I'll throw this out there.

I tried to do this last year, but there wasn't much interest, but if people who play on DraftKings want to get in a $1 entry contest (half of the participants get paid out or something similar), let me know. This way, you can see what people are doing real time with their teams on Sunday and there is a chat function too. If there is enough interest, let me know or send me an DM. I already have a group set up called Dawgtalkers so it would simply be a matter of inviting user names to the group and setting up a contest.
