In my life, and my circle, the VAST and OVERWHELMING majority have no issues with LGBTQ or other races/ethnic groups. Hell, even my 65 year old father whom 25 years ago thought being gay was a sin, now has a couple gay friends.

I am 33 years old. I have never seen someone in a white hood. I have never seen a white supremacist rally unless CNN was showing it. I have never witnessed a person getting beat up simply because he was gay. I have seen a gay guy get beat up, because he ran his mouth at a bar and deserved to get knocked out for it. Doesn't mean it was a hate crime though.

I didn't say I never seen racism. I just have never seen it to the extent the media portrays us to believe its happening on such a massively overt scale that is reported. I also believe that real racism and real racist have received a pass because we use the term to cry wolf at anything we don't like. It actually empowers the true racist to be more openly racist as they will use that fact to their advantage.
My point is, although it is there, its a fraction of what we are lead to believe it really is.

I've routinely see people on this very website tell those who are part of the LGBTQ+ community they will go to hell. A preacher of the Presbyterian denomination never preached such things. Behavior could change here, too.
You can also look into the Jim Crow-esque bathroom bills that discriminate and dehumanize trans-gender individuals.
We've got a long way to go on these issues. Republicans should listen to one of their own in Fred Rogers on these subjects. --------------------------

Not everyone has access to a museum, the monuments are there and are free to look and and read the history of it.

You're right. In fact, I've never seen anyone talk about it on DT, ever. So I just did a search through the last ten years of the forum and have found that only you have mentioned them in replies to things other people have said. If you really want to talk about it so badly then please start a thread about it and I'd gladly participate. I don't think we talk about instances of minority on minority racial hatred enough.
