No way Hue hired Haley...Hue knew Haley's history and Hue knew Haley would have designs on being named the Browns next HC, after Hue was fired.
It was said that Hue and Haley did not see eye to eye from day one...go ahead and believe Hue hired Haley...it shows you didn't do any homework into the background of the situation.
No, no joke. Here is a link. do some more homework and you will find Hue on Vid somewhere saying the same thing.

I could have sworn that we put in some of the OK play book in at the beginning of the year even TT was running it.
For me without educating myself too much on the subject cause I really didn't think we would be having this discussion.
But I have been very impressed with Lincoln Riley and many NFL offenses including our own have been trying to install a lot of what they do. So who better. Not like Chip when he came up...nobody was copying his Offense at that time. But I also like the way he has made that team over achieve.
I can see him making the Transition. Saban btw is an amazing College coach, I don't think he has it to transition to the NFL he is in a groove where he is at.
Same to say sort of with Urban.
If we go college I want an upcoming Super Star Like Lincoln Riley.
NFL: retreads are tough we have tried every which way. I do like the idea of Arians cause I think he is an excellent HC. He also would more than likely keep Kitchens on as the OC and more than likely keep Williams on to run the D if Williams would want to stay.
I also wouldn't mind Williams staying as the HC...maybe a year at least to keep continuity and wait for the perfect guy to come along.
Who would that be?
BB's OC who has had a stint at HC and would probably be much better the 2nd time around.
All I know is that we are NOW A VERY ATTRACTIVE Team to be the HC of.
jmho - We should have the pick of the litter.
Defense wins championships. Watson play your butt off! Go Browns! CHRIST HAS RISEN! GM Strong! & Stay safe everyone!
Riley would falter as coach of the Browns. its more than x and os when a coach takes the Browns HC job. its about changing a culture unparrelled in pro sports in recent memory. Lincoln Riley might succeed if he took over the Giants or Ravens. very few college coaches succeed at pro level for a reason when they try to make that jump to HC. your best NFL coaches worked up the ladder methodically. just because.Riley instilled a success offense at OU is not automatic success at the NFL level. its alot harder to scheme vs a NFL defense than a college defense thats half sophmores and juniors sorry Riley as never changed a culture before
With Arians, I'd be willing to put aside concerns about his age/health because I do think he's a good coach. I also like him; he seems like a good guy. But I heard an interview on the radio with Brian Baldinger, and he said he didn't see Arians as a good fit with Mayfield. Baldinger said that Arians has always had "tree trunk" type QB's - big men - like Roethlisberger, Luck, and Palmer, because Arians' offense employed 7-step drops by the QB and the QB takes a lot of hits in that scheme. He said that a QB of Mayfield's stature might get killed in those circumstances. I personally don't know all this to be the case, just reporting what Baldinger said. I've seen and read other analysis by him, and I think he's got credibility.
Regarding Josh McDaniel; I've never been impressed with Belichick guys when they've gone on to become HC's - not one. Two, McDaniels has already had a HC job in Denver, and failed. The third strike - IMO - is the stunt he pulled with Indy by accepting the job and then backing out on the day the announcement was planned. I have heard that Dorsey and Colts' GM are good friends, so I don't *think* we'll see McDaniels in the mix here.
I guess I'm leaning towards Riley, but I would also be happy with Harbaugh. John Harbaugh, that is - but never Jim.
Even I cannot say for sure one way or another why would I just take your word for it.
I think I grasp that HC is more than X's n O's point is Riley is succeeding in all the other areas.
He might succeed if he takes over the Giants or Ravens...oh right what we need is a Witch Doctor...you are making no sense on this at all.
I get it about the college coaches succeeding in NFL are slim. But this is a new era and I see Riley liken to the kid McVay from the RAMS.
Your best worked up the ladder methodically...again like McVay???
Duh...I know it does automatic mean success in the NFL cause he had success in college. I am not that dumb, I see what is needed in the NFL and I see him to be of that Super Star quality of a HC that can bring that with him to the NFL. Really its hard to scheme against NFL teams as opposed to College??? I didn't know that.
Fact is NFL teams are trying to COPY RILEY's success - NFL...not talking College. Why not get the guy everyone is trying to install into their Offense. Why not be ahead of everyone else in this new wave. NAH lets get somebody like Norv Turner somebody who has experience...lol

incoln Riley inheirted great talent at OU. hes not like he walked into a cellar program like Kent St or New Mexico St and turned it around. the best of the best are at Oklahoma LSU Clemson Ohio St Alabama and so forth. Riley has no idea of a NFL enviroment... your dealing with contracts egos grown men stuff politics galore. and trust me the concepts that Riley is using is not revolutionary by any means. everyones concepts at the college level began with Mouse Davis and Steve Spurrier Johnny Majors etc Riley would last one year as a Browns coach. oh yeah how did Steve Spurrier do at Washington?
Spurrier isn't a good example. He was a seasoned coach who led teams to high levels. He went pro. I don't think he didn't do well in the pros because he was inexperienced or not good. I just think the Skins weren't good and Dan Snyder was a new owner much like Jimmy, expecting instant turn around..
He went to South Carolina and turned that program around.
I like Riley, but am now agreeing with Diam...I'd like to see a little more out of the guy before I'd hire him as my coach.
It would be interesting if we could get him as OC, but it wouldn't pay as much as he makes as HC of the Okies.
I might look in to bringing him up to Cleveland for 3-4 days and picking his brain on his concepts. Pay him a fee plus all expenses.

If everybody had like minds, we would never learn.
Not sure what thread this belongs in ... its in response to your bet ...
Your confused bro ... my only point is haslam has been the worst owner in the history of sports so far ... i’ve Been talking about what he’s done til today ...
RIGHT NOW ... here’s what i’ve Said ... remember .. just cause he’s been a COMPLET AND UTTER FAILURE so far doesn’t mean he will be forever ... WE/HE LUCKED into Dorsey ... 100% LUCK ... if Sashi gets a QB or doesnt mess up the AJ trade HE’S STILL HERE ...
Sashi bailed the THIEF OUT ...
REMEMBER ... this is al History ... as for today .. i’ve Said WE CAN DO IT despite the thief ...
THATS NOT ME SAYHIG WE CAN’T ... i think we have a GREAT SHOT of getting who we want .. i’ve Said why many times and will explain further ... i may start a thread to discuss it .. not sure yet ..
My point .. don’t confuse what i’m Saying about the thief has done as an owner and the fact IMO we got a real good shot to get who we want DESPITE THE THIEF ...
More detail later bro ... PLEASE DON’T CONFUSE MY STAN=CE ON TOMMOROW WITH WHAT I THINK CAN HAPPEN IN THH NEAR NEAR FUTURE!!!
I know his supporters will not admit it, but Hue was just an embarrassment to our franchise. We won convincingly vs a good team using players Hue refused to use.
I mean there really is no argument anyone can make that we should have kept Hue because we lacked talent. Those were lies all along.
His supporters think it's disgusting that some of us were calling for him to be fired and lose his job, but just think of all the people he's gotten fired and will probably be fired... firing Hue a long time ago would have saved some jobs. But thanks to Hue guys like Haley, Sashi, Horton were fired and guys like Williams, Kitchens, Amos will be fired.

Look at all the players on our roster now that Hue didn't have access to at the beginning of the year: Clearly Dorsey waited until Hue was fired to sign talent to this team. Total conspiracy!
Rar-Ray Armstrong Pharoah Brown Justin Burns Carl Davis G'Juan Hines Dontrell Hilliard Brian Price Tavierre Thomas Tanner Vallejo Jermaine Whitehead Anthony Zettel
Enclosed the link to show that I wasn't just making these names up. I don't even know what position half these guys play. Forgive me if one or to of these guys were on the opening day roster, but if they were I had not heard their names.

We've played two games against 2 bad defenses ... so let's wait till we see a few more games.
But yeah - it really looks hard to defend Hue at this point.
With dysfunction and mid-season chaos that a firing of your HC and OC brings .... with your interim HC being a bombastic, egotistical roller coaster of a defensive coordinator who no-one thought was suitable ... with a recently promoted OC who had never called a regular season NFL game before .... with addition injuries to overcome .... the team played it's best game in for-ever.
The more things change the more they stay the same.
AND ... it is 100% legitimate to discuss this. This isn't piling on misery or being mean to a wronged man - this is talking about what good coaching might be able to do with the talent we have on the roster today ... how might we do next year when we have additional talent added?
