I hope I am wrong, but I don't have a good feeling about where this team is at mentally and emotionally.
I think the allegations and the investigation took a lot out of Urban. I would not be surprised to see him walk away from Ohio State.

I think the allegations and the investigation took a lot out of Urban. I would not be surprised to see him walk away from Ohio State. Kinda feel the same way. If he does, I hope he does it soon, and doesn't drag this thing out for a few years. I think Ryan Day could take this thing over, and keep a lot of the the program's setup in place, instead of having to restaff the entire thing. I do love that a lot of people wanted Ohio State fans to be complete meat-heads about the whole Urban situation, but realistically I have seen a lot more disdain for Urban (even before the loss) and the fact that whatever you want to say about the situation, right or wrong, it seemed like he went against something he holds his players too (and if you remember the Carlos Hyde situation, it was a policy that didn't accept exceptions) It's the same situation where people also wanted OSU fans to go after Nick Bosa for deciding to not come back. I have seen way more support, but people really wanted that narrative that OSU fans were mad about the whole thing. With a fan base as big as OSU's, sure there were some idiots out there, but there has been WAY more support for that kid and his decision (which is a smart one)

A lot of folks in my social media circles are excited about rumors that Mike Vrabel is waiting in the wings to replace Meyer. I agree that it looks like the off season stuff has taken a toll on Urban. I've never seen him stand on the sidelines doing the michigan cobra like he has the past couple weeks.

Observations vs Nebraska:
--Our run defense is beyond pathetic.
--Our pass defense isn't much better.
--Haskins is a pretty good qb.
--Dobbins had a nice game.
--The OL played better this game.
--Our LBers are slow.
--The refs ruined the flow of the game.
--With that said, we are undisciplined.
--Too many turnovers.
--Our offense is skilled.
--Our D did play better in the second half.
--It's a win, but I don't think this team is as good as in years past. We have a lot of talent, but we aren't meshing. We don't belong in the playoffs right now.

Our entire D is just not what it should be at OSU

I usually am a big pimp of OSU football, but I think there are a lot of teams that would destroy us this year. We're just not as good as we normally are.

I gotta agree ... our defense is just not good. Maybe the worst OSU defense I've seen

Someone needs to remind the Nebraska kicker, the point of the kick-off is to move the ball forward. LOL

I just don't think this team is all that great. I mean they are still probably a top ten team, but they aren't playoff worthy, and I think luckily for them, it may not matter, because they won't be able to put together much of a resume...
The TCU win turned out to be nothing. The Penn State win is getting worse by the week. They're still going to end up a top 20-25ish so it's a nice win but they really needed that one to be good.
That leaves Michigan, and even if they beat them, Michigan will get scooted back. Oh and then you'll get to play a team that may not even be ranked in the B1G championship.
The Nick Bosa thing really hurts. The lack of toughness at the LOS on offense is just mind-numbing. The lack of energy and fire from the team is really surprising too.
As far as Nebraska goes, I think Scott Frost just needs time. That program just needs a few good seasons, and they'll start recruiting better, and will be a much better program. I have a ton of respect for Nebraska fans and what they've had to put up with. They're great fans, knowledgeable, and are pretty damn loyal.

Yeah, I agree.
I love the Buckeyes and I have supported them in past years as being playoff worthy. Last year is an example of that. However, something is missing this year and while I think we have a lot of good players, we are not a great team this year.
We don't suck and I am thankful that we're not the Browns, but it's not a typical OSU team.

Yeah, I mean they'll still get a decent bowl game, and outside of that very good WR unit, they will retain most of the team for next fall. When you factor in the Meyer suspension, the Purdue beating, Nick Bosa deciding to not play college football again, this year is pretty forgetable, yet they are a top ten team who still sorta controls their own destiny. We are spoiled as fans, and I don't ever take any of this for granted, especially when I flip on the TV on Sundays.

WE'll end up playing someone like Florida or Kentucky in a Bowl, which is about what we deserve

It's certainly a disappointing season considering the OSU standard but you're bound to have seasons like this on occasion.
Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

Take MSU and the 3.5 points. We beat Nebraska, at home, by 5 whole points. Not trying to rip on Nebraska, but this was after a bye week, vs a 2 win team.
This just feels like your classic off year. How spoiled are we, that 8-1 is a down year to date?

This team is probably the weakest I’ve seen since John Cooper’s teams.

Hats off to the defense and STs! Hard notch. but a win. Could we drop some more passes?
This effort won't get 'er done against M. . . .
I might wish to see more Martel.

We are weaker and have more issues, among those a limited running QB. We relied on it a lot last year. More Martel. He can throw drops to our receivers and over their heads as well as the starter. We are not looking around much. His go to is stared down from first look too often.

Just the appearance of a Running QB changed our entire Run game ...

That wasn't a very good game offensively for anyone, but the special teams in that game were crazy good. OSU did what they needed to get out of there with the W.
I think it's probably safe to say now that it will be down to the OSU/Michigan game. Nobody can screw up enough for this side of the division to be decided before the game.
I think it's pretty cool now that it actually means something. It's been pretty one sided, and that's awesome, but I think it's great for the conference. If i were setting the line for the game I would probably have it less than a fg OSU's way.
Gun to my head I think Michigan wins it this year, and that is based solely on Ohio State's struggles on defense and their glaring problems with the offensive line. Skill position wise I think they're a little better, but not much after that.
Northwestern is officially in the B1G championship game too. Hell of a job by them.
I have been pretty firm against expanding the field for the playoff, but one thing that does get to me would be that a team like Northwestern could get their shot. Right now, they know that at best, they're going to play spoiler for their own conference. If they win, they would assure the Big Ten out of the playoff. If things were expanded it would be cool to see Northwestern and smaller programs like Northwestern have something to play for all year.
