its still early, but we've already seen that playing with a different QB makes all the difference for some receivers.

It would be a total steal if we could get him to play up to his draft status.

I really think that right now, the way the season has played out for us, these cast-offs like Perriman and the LT Robinson(sp), they are in a unique position to revive their careers.
I mean, halfway through the season we fired our HC and OC, we promoted our DC to an interim position leading the team. Our locker room, there really aren't many veteran leaders, there aren't many veterans period.
So, these guys who had so much potential, only to flame out with their initial teams, they are coming into a locker room where nearly everyone is on the same level. A bunch of young, hungry players eager to make a name for themselves.
My thinking is this...
If there is anywhere to come and resurrect your career, its here. The nucleus of this team is still raw, its still forming, so carving out a niche here is probably a lot less stressful than coming into a team where everything is already established and running. Elsewhere, you probably have established veterans, leaders, players already gelled together.....so as a newbie, finding yourself in a group where you are kind of the outsider....it has to be tough..
In Cleveland, its almost like everyone is new, everyone is an outsider......everyone is trying to find their place....To me, that would be an attractive situation to someone like Perriman...
I wish to wash my Irish wristwatch......

It would be amazing if he tears it up December 30th to help us sweep the Ravens. That would be an all-around good story

He’s had 5 catches ... 5 ... It may just be a wee bit early to say he’s over his drops ... i think i’ll Wait til he has secured at least 8 or 9 catches w/o a drop before i’m ready to count on him ... Sometimes it takes WR’s 2 or 3 years to acclimate ... maybe that will be the case with him ... BUT he had a rep coming out as having bad hands ... and that was the knock on him in B-more ... that usually don’t change ... and i’m Gonna need a MUCH BIGGER sample size before i declare his drops a thing of the past ... 5 CATCHES FELLAS w/o a drop ... u may wanna raise the bar a wee bit ... just sayin ... With that said ... PLEASE PROVE ME WRONG B ... PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PROVE ME WRONG ....

i mentioned in the postgame thoughts thread - i am pleased with what i have seen so far from him, realizing that it is two games. he was a low-risk acquisition. there were some who screamed "stupid move" the minute it happened. i was willing to let it play out as I really cannot question many of Dorsey's move so far.
quick review - so far so good.

He looks good in the limited sampling. Looks the part. Big, smooth, soft hands. I want to see more though. Can't believe he was so bad with the Ravens that they cut him, but now suddenly he's all pro. Let's see how he grades out the rest of the year.

He’s a scrap heap guy. Maybe he turns into a nice 3rd WR that would be nice. Problem is we have 4 of those guys…..Higgins, Callaway, Perriman and Ratley.

Sometime guys take awhile to get it together...why not on our team for a change. BTW...he just turned 25 in Sept...and...Robinson just turned 26 in Oct.

quick review - so far so good. I was one of them ... HOPE HE PROVES ME WRONG ... Agree with u .. so far so good ... Dorsey gets a TON of rope from me ... he’s EARNED IT .... so far ... I like recievers that can CATCH ... hopefully Dorseys flier pans out and his drops were more concentration in college and adjustment in the pro’s .. usually don’t work out that way ... It’s why he’s KING JOHN in my world for now cause he’s EARNED IT ... so far ... if he’s right on Perriman ... he can be EMPORER JOHN in my world ... *LOL* ...

the best way to use him is his speed ... fake end arounds, go routes, etc
ALl the better if he can catch 2-3 a game

He has been a pleasant surprise, I'll give him that much.
From the moment he was acquired, I wrote him off immediately as "just a guy" and "roster bottom feeder". I expected him to not even be active on game days.
He proved me wrong the very first game by being on the 45 AND getting in the game AND getting a reception. Since then, he has done decently, except against KC.
He had a really good day yesterday, but still, he has as many drops/misses at this point as he does catches - 10 targets in 4 games for 5 catches. He has a lot of room to grow & improve.

I read about his history of drops when we picked him up. He seems to be really Enveloping the ball when it comes to him. 5 catches for 75 yards, that's 15 a pop.
Be nice for somebody to revive their career HERE, after failing ELSEWHERE, instead of the other way around.
He is our second most experienced wide receiver. Gradually getting more PT as time goes on. Hopefully after the bye, this can increase and he can continue to produce.
Last year, we did not have a single WR or TE pass 400 yards. I'll take help wherever we can find it.

I hope you are right. I am tired of being seen as the next Elephant's Graveyard for NFL careers. I trust Dorsey to show the kind of judgment that can land young talent to develop and also "find" players with gas in their tanks that can play well here.

Sometimes it tales a guy being cut, or traded, for the lights to come on.
Sometimes it just takes a change in scheme,or coaches.
It happens all over the NFL.

Can we please change the title of this thread? It was an honest mistake, but it seems a bit disrespectful.

LOL this was funny. Yeah, I've seen his name spelled like 20 different ways

That is a screwy system It actually makes sense when you understand that each post is its own entity, and a new reply gets its subject line from the post it is replying to. So, even though the original subject was edited to correct it, anything that replied to it still has their original reply subject.

I understand WHAT is happening, it just makes no sense; at least from a database standpoint, it creates too many sub-categories.
For instance, in this thread, their are titles with Brett, Breshad, Brandon, Breshard, and likely a couple others, for just one thread. I am seeing the original, my change, several other's changes, and also the unedited original title.
There should be only one. No biggie, just screwy.

You're thinking too much in terms of a normalized table structure. Each subject entry is its own discrete thing, intentionally Anywho... back to BRESHARD! I'm glad he's proving my thoughts on him wrong, and I hope he continues to do so. I hope he's got a chip on his shoulder with that last Ravens game circled on his calendar.
