Had to turn it off at halftime. I had high hopes MNF would at least be watchable after the offseason changes, but it's just as bad as last year. How can a sports network not get the fact that viewers tune in to watch the game and listen to relevant commentary, not for interviews of Hollywood has-beens or to hear a second-by-second recap of the Michael Vick saga? I know its preseason, but its unforgivable to have some talking head taking up half the screen spewing nonsense about Vick when the Falcons are scoring a touchdown on the other half without sound or commentary. Also, Kornholeser has to stop with the Michael Vick "path to rehabilitation and forgiveness" BS. That line of thinking may apply to players with drug or alcohol problems, but not to someone who, by his own admission, brutally killed dogs for fun and profit. There are just some things you can't take back.

i'm so sick of the whole thing...
espn always does this... they find something, and go nonstop with it for 2 weeks, and it sucks the life out of real sports fans
what vick did was wrong, but there is a time and place for discussion on it, and it's not supposed to be the place i get my sports highlights...

Yeah I agree with ya. Just like for example the Bonds home run. Sure it was a great record don't get me wrong, but they had it on every damn time I turned on the channel for a week straight.

I hear ya,,, I tried to watch that game last night.. had to turn it off,, I wanted Football, instead, I got non stop Vick information.. and the worst part of this is,, it was all rehashing of the same ole crap... Nothing New except for his news conference in which he STILL didn't tell the whole truth,,,, That's about 10 minutes I'll never get back,,,

I have a hard time watching any football broadcast. Either they have some dimwit who can talk well and present a good on screen image but say nothing relevant or insightful about the game they are SUPPOSED to be commenting on or, in the case of Madden and Michaels, go on and on and on and on about stories, who they talked to, what they said, what happened the other day, week, year . . .
I guess that's why I like listening to Donovan and Kosar. At least you get someone excited about calling a game as in Donovan, and someone knowledgeable who shares and breakdowns the game. That's what I want to hear.
The other stuff is fluff and storytime.

The best is to listen to the radio with the sound down on the TV. Well as long as you don't have a bad delay, then that gets very annoying.

Of course they were going to be talking about the Vick situation. It might not have been as bad, but it was a Falcons game. Did you really expect them to talk on the impact of DJ Shockley's injury or the impact of Jerious Norwood, etc. There is one major story surrounding the Falcons right now, Vick.
I don't watch many preseason games outside the Browns. Somehow the thrill of watching guys who will driving UPS trucks play against guys who will be bagging groceries doesn't get me interested in the game. Having some entertainment value would help with that. Sadly, in sports, the most entertaining story has been Mike Vick for a while.

How can you not like the Turducken discussions between Madden and Michaels.?
We don't have to agree with each other, to respect each others opinion.

y'all crack me up... Are none of you married? Have you not mastered the ability to simply tune out that which you don't want to listen to?
Not watching a game or turning it off in the middle simply because the announcers are annoying....... LOL... that's funny.

That's why they invented this wonderful thing called the "mute" button. I had the game on the whole time last night with the Yankees/Tigers or Tribe/Twins game in the pic-in-pic and played on the laptop while I watched the game with it muted. That let me play my music and not get annoyed.
I am unfamiliar with this feeling of optimism

I was on the laptop too.. had the volume sort of low and could hear just enough to catch a buzzword now and then of something I wanted to listen to.. then I'd turn it up....

I did the same thing minus the picture in picture.
I turned the volume down and listened to some music. It was nice. I dont care about Vick, i just wanted to see Cincy's starters.

I have given Tony K every benefit of the doubt, waiting for him to "come around," because he is from the brotherhood we call "Marine." Sure hope he was better at that than he is at what he does now. MNF is in on my OFF list. I don't care if the Ravens are playing the Steelers, and if they tie, the Browns go to the playoffs. (Radio will be on though,... )
