We need to win out, and must have the Ravens lose 2 of their last 3.

Then we also either need the Steelers to lose out, or the Colts, Dolphins and Titan to lose 2 of 3.

We need a lot of 8-8 teams, so we can grab a playoff spot with a 8-7-1 record.

If I look back at my history of the 1980's there was a year when the Browns went almost all the way, and maybe it was one of those "drive" or "fumble" years where they were a game a way from the SB, maybe not

but they got in, one of those years, with a similar regular season record like 8-7-1, it's like, "how did they even get in the playoffs,

But the thing is, there were only 3 divisions, now there are 4 divisions

And you've got about 4 more teams viaing for the wild card, so it's not going to happen anymore.

IN Fact, I think if there were 2 more Wild card spots "this year" that the Browns still would be the first team not qualifying, most likely.

I know the bucs have a bottom 3 defense but LJ torching them. If Jackson could add about 15-20 lbs he could be a force

NEVER EVER EVER from this one ...

I fully expect us to win the division ...

This is DIFFERENT!!!

Ya’all need to realize that its OK to say it out loud ...

WERE GOOD and this is REAL not the same BS most of ya’all have fallen for over the years ...

This is a GREAT DIFFERENT!!!

Now that I've resigned myself to the fact that the Browns are/soon will be eliminated this year,

I checked out next years opponents.

Might as well tank the final two weeks this year finish in last place again

Therefore next year, it would =

a road game vs the Raiders instead of a road game vs. the chargers, chiefs or broncos

and finishing in last place next year would = a home game vs the Jaguars

instead of a home game vs the Titans, Colts, or Texans.

... thoughts today are, if the Browns can't win the division, they aren't getting into the playoffs until 2021.

The easisest path are their own teams in the AFC north.

Or we could get better and beat the teams on our schedule instead of hoping for an easy schedule. If we get to the playoffs, we're going to have to play good teams anyway.

It's supposed to be hard! If it wasn't hard, everyone would do it. The hard... is what makes it great!

No. If Pittsburgh loses out, and Baltimore loses next week & we win out, we take the division.

Really about the same chances as at the beginning of today because our best chance was always to win the division. The chances of 4 7-6 teams losing 2 games is very slim.

If Pittsburgh beats NE now, then I think we're officially done.

That's is the biggest hurdle to our hopes. Pitts plays NE today and New Orleans next week. 2 tough games. And Baltimore plays at the Chargers next week. A tough game.

The Bengals might surprise us. I'm sure they don't like Pittsburgh any more than we do.

added: Of course if we beat up on Cincy next week like we need to, they might be less inclined to help us out the last week of the season.

Like I said before, watch Pittsburgh drop the next two and the Browns win next week, and our playoff hopes hinge completely on Hue Jackson getting a win against the Steelers.

Yeah. And Cincy finds a way to lose on some last second play, because that's the Cleveland way.

I would love some of your optimism.

The way I see it is the Steelers and Ravens get to goto the playoffs again because the Refs ripped us off in 2 games. We should be 8-6. Everytime I think about it I get sick to my stomach. Ugh. Need to stop stressing over it but can't seem to stop.

We’d also still have Hue Jackson. Fair trade.

I tried to think of it that way, but I just can't accept that as enough reason. Who knows how things turn out the other way.

Sure Haley and Hue had tons of in fighting, but if we were 4-2 maybe not.

Who knows how bad luck or the NFL will rob us next year?

I'm sick of just finding reasons to be OK with the abuse.

I'm gonna stick it out but doesn't make it right.

That's not true, unless you mean next week for the Colts and Titans.

The Colts, Titans, Ravens and Dolphins are our WC competition.

Those teams can finish no better than 8-8 for us to make the playoffs. (unless we win the division) 3 of them have 8 wins, which means they all have to lose out.

Our options are narrowing greatly, though. Simplest way to look at it is: if Pittsburgh loses, we are still alive for the division. We need to win 'em all, and have Tenn and Indy to lose out ..... Miami to lose one ..... Baltimore to lose thew rest after today. A win next week by Indy or Tenn will knock us out of the WC race, because they would have 9 wins, and the best we can go is 8-7-1. We can't have Baltimore win the division if we tie Pittsburgh, because if we both go 8-7-1, Pitts owns the head to head against us.

Out options are definitely narrowing though.

This week. The reason is because the Colts and Titans play each other the last week. So at least one of them will now have 9 wins, barring tie that is.

Our only hope is Pitt losing out. They play the Patriots who typically own them, which means they will win, that's how Browns mojo works.
