That wouldn't work IMO. It would be a scheduling nightmare.

At any rate, it isn't going to happen. Even in 1963 when there were 14 teams in the league they had a east and west division.

yeah, why not just have a 16 game schedule against 16 random teams ... and it rotates every year. Whoever has the best 16 records gets seeded 1-16
