I’d be all in favor of eliminating divisions, they’re pointless. While you’re at it, get rid of the conferences. With all the inter-league play now, it isn’t needed. Just put the top 16 teams in the playoffs. That’s the way it should be.
Just imagine having the option of a Browns / Steelers Super Bowl, with the Browns winning of course.
That wouldn't work IMO. It would be a scheduling nightmare.
At any rate, it isn't going to happen. Even in 1963 when there were 14 teams in the league they had a east and west division.
