I had no idea you could return a 2 point conversion. Wow You can return a 2 point conversion for 2 points. Rare play. Even freakier: the 1 point safety. Basically if the offense commits a safety on a 2 point conversion (on the other side of the field, use your imagination), the defense gets 1 point. It's possible for a game to end with a score of 6-1, for example. A 1-1 tie would be gnarly. But who would pitch the extra innings?

A touchdown has to be scored first, so only one team can score just 1 point.
Whether or not that ever actually happens.. who knows. The offense scoring a 1 point safety is rare enough and I'm not aware of the defense ever getting one, let alone as their first or only point of the game.
Call it a piece of trivia if nothing else. If it ever actually happens in an NFL game, expect a lot of confused people.

And it's an untimed play so the offense would not run around and take a safety to run the clock out.
Is buttcheeks one word? Or should I spread them apart?

Damn, good catch. Glad I'm not running the scoreboard.
4-2, Browns win.

(assuming both lose this week, and the Browns win both of their games ..... and whatever else has to happen ....)

About the only way I could see it ever happening is the defense intercepts a pass or recovers a fumble on the 2 point conversion, runs it 90+ yards and is going in for the 2 points and the guy gets caught and stripped from behind, ball goes into the end zone, offense falls on it.... 1 point safety. How else do you lose 97 yards on one play?

Bro .. we can get a lesser version of Mack ... he’s GENERATIONAL BRO ... when greats are together ... he stand out amongst them ... he can rush like Bosa and cover better than most safeties .... He’s a FREAK bro ... U go get Bosa and u get as close to him as u can .. LOVE AVERY ... he can’t nor will he ever be able to carry Macks jock ... just like anyone else drafted after the first 5 picks .. Don’t matter no more bro ... Lets talk about the browns bud ... we been waiting for this forever ... lets FOCUS on that .. i know i am ... I know how good Mack is: I'm not saying he is not that stud. But I'm looking at the reality that he is not on our team. Spilled Milk. Just a note Mack was not given this Generational status prior to the draft. So you never know we are on a roll now and who knows there might be somebody out there that we will get who will end up being a stud. You are telling me what these guys will be when you just don't know. Will somebody good become a generational stud. But lets face it he is not a Brown.
As for our effort to get him...maybe it was too much for Dorsey to go for it. But the fact is MACK was making the decision and he wanted to go to a team that was going to have a shot at becoming a Winner...He saw the Bears as that kind of team. Nobody was giving our Team that kind of credit. I don't know (educate me anyone) but did Mack have the right to NIX any trade? If so we had no Chance of getting him regardless of the offer. I think we were basically told, ummm sorry you are not on the list. But as stated I don't know...all I know is why cry over spilled milk we can grow and improve and get a stud whether he is Generational or not. We can be a better team than the Bears come 1, 2 years with Mack on their team.
So I agree Mack is amazing...I just don't use the phrase Generational, to me in a team sport like no other he is still an individual. And what happens when he gets injured if your team is so dependent on ONE GUY, what happens when he is gone? I'd rather have 3 really good guys than the ONE GENERATIONAL Talent.

How else do you lose 97 yards on one play? Either that or a player on offense running the wrong way for whatever reason. (Good sense of humor? Got hit in the head one too many times?) Jim Marshall's wrong way safety... not on offense, or a 2 point conversion for that matter, but something like this: https://youtu.be/Q7PANvKO9F0?t=240

Technically, Mack wouldn't have been able to nix a trade. However, in practice, he or his agent could have made it known that he wasn't interested in playing for a team or signing a contract extension. It's very unlikely a team would be willing to give up two first round picks or whatever it was in that situation.

Yeah I'm sure it would have been a deal where we would negotiate an extension and if not a done deal there would be no trade...so get what you are saying. They probably gave a list to the Raiders on teams that they would not negotiate an extension.
Shame cause after this season for maybe the first time we are a team anyone would wish to join. jmho

Not necessarily. Yes players do go to good teams .... but teams that pay the most sometimes win out over good teams. Other times a player wants a certain geographical location, or city, in which to live and work. Sometimes it's one of those factors, plus the head coach, or maybe a position coach, that the free agent player feels comfortable with. Lots of factors go into the decision a player makes regarding where to play, that go well beyond just how good a team is.

I'm not worried about missing out on Mack.
He's a great player and having a great season. That said, I'm just not a fan of using all those assets on a non-QB (and as a matter of good fortune and a smart pick, we were able to get our QB without giving up extra picks.)
There's just so much you can do with 2 first round picks and 23+ million per year. What was it, $90 million guaranteed? My goodness. If he keeps playing at this level, fine, but players fall off after getting paid all the time. Injuries happen.
If you're going to make a move like that, at least do it when you're in contention... like real Super Bowl contention. We weren't there this off-season even in the most optimistic of mindsets.
Just keep building the team and adding to the list of good players. That's 2 first round picks and multiple big free agency signings..
Time changes perspectives on things. At one point, passing on Deshaun Watson looked like a bummer. The picks we got for him? Jabrill Peppers and Denzel Ward. Add in Baker Mayfield with our own pick and it turned out just fine.
