BTW ... IF tyrod Taylor could play like Brady or Brees ... he’s still be a BETTER HUMAN BEING that football player ....
That man has a heart of gold along with as much class as anyone could possible have ... i lived less than an hour away from Buffalo and knew lots of businessman in the area .... they said TT would give his time FREELY to help anyone in need ....
and he way he handled his benching was BEYOND CLASSY ... he never had a negative word to say ... TOTAL CLASS ...
I’m still Holding out hope we can keep him as a back up ... he says he wants to start somewhere ... lets see what the market tells him ...
Just wanted to get a plug in for TT ... i really admire him as a human being ...
Has anyone brought up the possibility that we might need to replace Amos Jones as ST Coordinator? The weekly breakdowns and penalties are an ongoing aggravation and can be backbreakers in close games.
Assuming we keep Williams, even as DC, I would just put him over the unit along with an assistant.
His son is on the up's. Just have Greg oversee both.
ST's is mostly a defensive position anyway.
If everybody had like minds, we would never learn.
TT needs to go and play for the jaguars. That offense is suited for him, straight ground and pound with Hyde and fournette. Bortles is trash.

I was disappointed that we didn't run Chubb at the end of the game...and no...I did not bet on the game hoping we'd beat the spread.
That didn't surprise me one bit, especially after Williams spoke on this very subject earlier this year. You run actual plays, and you allow for the possibility that there could be a mistake. On a kneel down, it's less of a chance, and you win the game. (paraphrased)

While I agree that Ward needs to start tackling low, I believe he got injured yesterday because he thought the runner was going down, and he relaxed back on his heels. The big TE righted himself and hit Ward full force, head on - trucked him - because Denzel was just not prepared for contact. I blame the guy who didn't wrap up on the initial attempt at a tackle.
Sanders ran away from the play ... dude that big ... nope ... Sanders was “real smart” ... he’d of been heading toward the other sideline as soon as Randall chumped it ... *LOL* ....
I like Taylor. Underrated QB as well-- led the Bills to the playoffs last season when they were stockpiling draft picks and playing for the future just as much as the Browns were. The 2+ games he played here don't do him justice.
That said, giving up the 65th overall pick and also drafting Baker #1 overall was kind of an odd strategy.
I get the idea behind it, to help win some games and stabilize the QB room. It's not a terrible price to pay. That said, Haley wanted Baker to start from game 1. The two QBs have different play styles.
Ultimately, there's little chance that Taylor stays here. It's Baker's team, and it doesn't make sense to have a backup that makes $16 million/year or whatever. Taylor should get a starting job somewhere anyway.

It was the right thing to do...but I'm still disappointed. We were out of the playoffs and the Bengals were feeling good about their little "comeback"....I wanted Chubb to get another TD.
GW made the right call...I mean it's not like he went for it on 4th down rather than taking the sure points. /purple
diam, I jumped on this thread on page 5 so all I saw were a couple of posts from you castigating baker for his previous transgressions. I remembered your previous support hence my confusion. I hope everybody is 100% behind nd our qb because I think this is going to be a fun ride!!

Jags are taking Haskins in the first round. QB problem solved.
Haskins hasn't declared and may not ...

Its hard to communicate on here ... i wasnt “chastising” him ... i was pointing out “incidents” from his past ... logically laying out how i came to the inmature (thanks cfr) conclusion ...
Likei said ... i said that pre-draft ...
I’ve explained myself way more than i should have ...

I guess I’m just looking at it from a business decision. The QB draft class is weak. He’s either the best or the second best QB prospect in the draft. The NFL has a glut of young QBs with only a small handful not having ‘their guy’ or some hope that the guy they have is the right guy. The top of the draft is filled with non QB needy teams...unless Gruden decides to dump Carr. The top QB is likely to be taken by a warm weather team, the Jags and possibly the Bucs if they decide to move on from Winston. Warm weather being something most college QBs would prefer I’d guess. Or the Giants pick him and he gets to play and make money in a huge market. $$$$ My hope would be he doesn’t somehow fall to the Bengals and they groom him and move Dalton after next year. I think if I’m Haskins I’m moving on while the getting is good. As a Buckeye fan I want him to stay. I think we can win a championship on this kid’s arm. But money and future geographical location would lead me to leave. I wouldn’t blame him.

That is just a dumb statement imo. Ward is responsible for his own actions.

Care to retract?
No, that's the way I saw it. If I'm wrong, I'm wrong. Big whips.
First I had to take into consideration the actual situation here.
The Bengals were missing their starting QB, their top 2 WR's and their #1 CB. That's a lot to overcome. So had we have lost this game I would have considered it quite set back.
With that said, it's always fun to watch our Browns win. The score didn't actually reflect the beat down we put on them for three and a half quarters of football. While Mayfield started a little slow, he gave a typical, Mayfield like performance that shows why he was worthy of the #1 draft pick.
Next week we'll be playing the #1 rated D in the NFL. The going won't be quite so easy. But that's the thing about this staff and our players. Now, it's much easier to believe that almost anything is possible.
Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.
I can remember recently when we were down to our 6th string QB, guys who weren't even on the roster at the start of the year, and no one gave half a damn about beating our brains in.
I prefer to beat a team at full strength, but I am not going to complain if they happen to be injury depleted. We have certainly gone through more than our fair share of that particular some.

Tyrod Taylor should provide some pretty good scout team reps this week in practice. I hope GW puts his big brain on the challenge of shutting down running lanes for Lamar Jackson. Make him beat you throwing the ball. I also wouldn't be too surprised, if things aren't going well for Lamar and the Rats, to see Joe Flacco brought in to save the day. I hope we spend some practice time on defending a pure pocket passer too. Its a tall order to go into B-more and beat them, but I have to believe there will be some tight sphincters wearing purple next Sunday, while the Browns should be "cool dudes in a loose mood".
Yes, Cinci's too, but its more of a problem when the threat is a QB because when he drops back to pass, your DBs and LBs are in backpedal, and that's when things can open up wide for you to get gashed by QB runs with an athlete like Lamar Jackson. Maybe you put Randall or Peppers in a spy role to shadow Jackson - I don't know - but you have to prep and scheme differently for a guy with his abilities.
We absolutely can beat them again. Baker is a much more experienced and accomplished QB now than he was back when we beat them here. Also, although they still have Suggs, there's no Ray Lewis or Ed Reed to torture us anymore. The worm is turning, our time is coming. Hopefully it starts Sunday.
