Nick Chubb only needs 140 yards and two rushing TDs for a 1,000 yrd. 10 rushing TD season.

It's not a stretch he could get that this weekend.

this is very awesome.

i was one of those who hated the hyde trade. man oh man am i happy to be completely off base on that. Chubb has been an absolute beast. he does everything: cuts, power runs, catches, blocking has got way better, outside runs, screens.

so glad dorsey forced the issue. we got ourselves a RB to go with baker for the next 8-10 years.

The blocking is key. That's what i was worried about, and he has really improved at that. By being a better blocker, it makes our offense much more unpredictable when he's on the field.

And his catching has improved too, which is great.

But the blocking. That's what it's about. I was totally against the Hyde trade being Chubb's blocking was suspect. It was like overnight, he figured it out.

He was a great pick. No question about it. A bit like our own fresh Jamal Lewis

He’s a running back so probably four or five years, but still awesome nonetheless.

I was thrilled when we picked Chubb, defended him during the draft process, was ticked we didn't play him earlier, and am happy as heck he is on my team.

You were right again, old man wink.

Like others felt, I was worried about his blocking. It doesn't seem to have been a problem.

He'll hit the 1000 yards. He'll also get at least 2TD's, just not sure if they'll be all rushing TDs.

Nick only needs 28 yards during the Baltimore game to rush for 1,000 yards on the season. He rushed for 112 today against the Bengals, breaking the franchise rookie record. He achieved this in nine starts.

Next week he goes over 1,000 yards in ten starts. 24 is golden!

I would have loved to see the numbers of Mayfield and Chubb over a full season with this staff.

He will get the yards, he wont get the TDs. They are going to try to get Baker the record imo.

I hope they play to win the game and care less about who does the scoring. I don't believe focusing on records is how you coach a football team.

Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

What makes you think they are...I mean I know the OL will be proud in getting Chubb his 1,000 but he only needs 28 so its not a real task unless we are in the 4th quarter and still need some yards.

I was responding to someone elses comment.

My point was I don't care if Baker or Chubb get the TD's. You don't game plan on someone setting a record. I don't believe our coaching staff game plans that way. I felt that comment was flawed.

I don't. I think if we are in the red zone, they are going to try to throw the ball into the endzone. JMO, but its also a business - and having the rookie record holder coming into year 2 will sell season tickets. smile

We once again disagree. Bakers play has already sold those tickets. This team is hot right now. Whether he breaks that record or not will make zero difference in ticket sales.

Being on the verge of various records by either Chubb or Mayfield is a by-product of improved play by the entire offense. I don't get the sense that the football men of the Brown's will entertain any marketing considerations when there is a scoring opportunity. So, I can't say with any certainty if one or both scoring records will be set. The only consideration is point production. The rest will take care of itself.

To piggyback off my last post, interestingly, Myles Garrett only needs two sacks to set the Browns rookie sack record. So lets spread the love. Two for Baker! Two for Chubb! And Two for G-Rex!

I didn't realize that with Garrett. I hope he gets it

I just watched the extended version of Baker being mic'd up in the Bengals game. It was interested to hear him congratulate Chubb on getting 100 yards after a rush, and coming back to the huddle.

While I truly believe the play-calling is NOT dictated by individual stats, it was somewhat mind-blowing to know Baker was so aware of another players performance at the time.

It was also mind-blowing to experience Baker's sheer enjoyment of the game. And also to see him set himself up to block should a run come back his way...he's a playah!

OK, I got a little exuberant. The record Garrett could reach with two sacks is the Browns single-season sack total.

that's a great graph to see

Probably play action but not because of an alternate motive but because its the best play to score.
