I'm sooooo torn.

As PortlandDawg said above if we beat the Ravens, that probably means (unless they choke Vs Cinci) that the Steelers win the division. Ugh. And he's right, a few questionable Ref calls in their direction like they usually get and they can beat any team.

The Ravens proved they can also beat any team with a win vs Los Angeles, but their 3rd SB doesn't seem as painful as the 7th for Pitt.

ALSO WE BEAT THE STEELERS WEEK 1. We did. The NFL admitted to AT LEAST 7 points, not to mention the Haden PI and the offsides on the kick block. So seeing them make the playoffs is just like a punch in the gut. The NFL managed to find a way to make being a Browns fan suck again even when winning.

That being said, we gotta win. It would just be such a high note going into the offseason and let the corrupt NFL go on their merry way.

That being said I always want us to win, every week, and especially vs Ravens.

I'm reading that if we would have made that FG week 1 against Steelers, and won, that our next game against the Ravens would be us playing for the division win! wow.... Thats crazy.

Win or lose, one of those two teams is going to the playoffs. I like winning, that's motivating.

Wow! Imagine if HC hadn't fouled up being up 8 points vs the Raiders with 1:42 to play and rushing for a first down after making them use all of their timeouts.
litteraly just take a knee, time.

And then, when the Ref's, after measuring a first down, go back and reverse it, and our team isn't prepared to go for it on 4th and inches,

and then don't use a time out before the 2 point conversion.

------

And then imagine if Tampa Bay's kicker hadn't made a 56 yd field goal in overtime,
or somehow the offense had been fixed a few weeks earlier.

---- Week 1 vs the steelers, it's not a missed Fg that bothers me,
but didn't the ref's have a nonsense drive killing penalty in the first half,

Maybe it was vs the Saints, would have allowed the Browns to go up by 10, and the league didn't want that.

I want the Browns to win .. but .. I will admit that is is a nice consololation that if they play well .. and lose .. they kept the Steelers out of the playoffs .. ironic .. isn't it ?

It IMO has to do with we are here and we are here to stay. Its sort of unfortunate we aren't playing for more then just being a spoiler but one thing we can play for is establishing the FACT that the division goes thru Cleveland moving forward.

I have few doubts that as long as Mayfield remains healthy this team is the team to beat the magic we see is nothing compared to what is coming.

They must continue to work hard the rest will take care of itself regardless.

Sunday against Baltimore we show we can hang with anyone and thats critical for confidence and to put the league and the Ravens on notice.

Our future is multiple championships, Browns football truly has returned to the lake front.

Merry Christmas everyone

4-1-1 in the division. Any team in the league would be thrilled to do that. This is no crap division, either....it's not the American League Central.

I hate the Ravens more than the Steelers, and I love a win...so a win that knocks the Ravens out of the playoffs would be the best ending to this season without making the playoffs I could ask for

I want a Browns win and a Bengals win.

Then I can mutter silently to myself with every Ravens win in the playoffs, "Yeah we swept them."

Do the Browns have what it takes to knock the Ravens out of the playoffs,

if the Ravens play like their 2 best performances of the year?

That is a question to be answered.

I think we have improved immensely but we have fallen short against top echelon teams for one reason or another. Baltimore bullied the Chargers and I see it being no different. If we can stick with them and compete I’ll be more than pleased given it’s on the road and what is at stake for them.

We have pulled ourselves out of the abyss but we need a few more pieces here and there. However the mentality, attitude and culture has finally changed. We owe the incumbent staff and the connection with the players they have cultivated a great deal for that.

a WIN plain and simple...a WIN does good for this team...who the hell cares about those other two teams...

Got to think about the Browns...and for them ..a WIN is the best thing..it will help with learning how to keep winning big games..

and come next year..those two teams will have to beat the Browns..Its like lets lose for a draft pick...Happy to say NOOOO to that..times are changing..and WINNING is feeling dang GOOD !!!!

I don't care if the steelers or ravens got to the play offs..because i will ROOT for either team to LOSE..What I want is a WIN against the ratbirds...

I'm sure Mr. Perriman has an interested perspective on this game. Hope he has a monster performance.

It's amazing what a change of teams can do for some players. Amari Cooper is another example.

It's the last week of the season. Browns are out of playoff contention. So, what's left to play for? I will put it as plainly as I can:

2018 Browns play to announce their arrival in this division.

Browns fans have beef with both AFCN teams seeking to advance into the dance. In a just world, neither team would make the playoffs. Browns do not control that fate. What they do control, is how they are viewed by their colleagues within the division.

I want my team to inflict as much pain, misery, and apprehension as they can. Leave an imprint in 2018 that sets the stage for 2019.

I would love to see Elves inflict massive pain upon Art Modell's traitors. I don't care if it helps a bunch of Stools this year, because they're in our crosshairs, too.

Finish this season like a rogue gang of bosses.

.02, clemmy.

ps- Merry Christmas, Hounds!

In some ways, we are playing the 19 season since Gregg and Fred took over. The 18 season was dead and gone before they took over.

I don't think anyone on the current roster while ON THIS TEAM has played in a game with more on-the-line than this game.

The intensity will be like none they have ever experienced in a Browns uniform. This is a tremendous test of where we have improved up to this point. We are going to learn a great deal regardless of whether we win or lose. I hope we get used to the pressure and the intensity so that next year, we know the feeling and get on about our business for that day.

Put is simply winning means we keep the momentum going and leads to the following:

1. Winning record (First since 2007 and only the 3rd since the return)
2. Winning record in Division (First ever in AFC North)
3. Establish us as an up and coming winning team that can draw in free agents. Winning season plus winning 6 of the last 7 games should be attractive.

It will not hurt anything for the draft. The most we could gain by losing would be 2 or 3 spots and the most we can lose by winning is 2 or 3 spots and those assume that other teams lose or win respectively. Likely it will have very little affect on our draft.

Winning means winning and having this team thinking about what next year can be and motivates everyone to be ready day one next year.

So go Browns and I don't care which team makes the playoffs though having Pittsburgh win would help our draft smile.

What you said!

This is a statement game. We go out and make that statement in clear, unequivocal, and in no uncertain terms. If the Steelers make the playoffs as a result, so be it. So far I’ve enjoyed the butt kissing from their fans this week. What’s even better is that tinge of fear in that butt kissing because they know they are next.

Plus if they lose to the Bengals and we beat the Ravens, they’ll end up in a dysfunctional tailspin organizationally.

What if winning this game makes a difference in what type of prime time game(s) the Browns will get in scheduling for next season?

The Chargers beat themselves as much as anything else. Their defense held the Ravens' offense to 16 points and if free safety Jahleel Addae doesn't take a bad angle and whiff on the TD pass to TE Mark Andrews we're looking at a maximum of 12 points but more likely 9 given that the Charger defense limited the Ravens' offense to 57 yards without the TD pass in the 2nd half. Take away the TD pass and none of the other scoring drives went for more than 46 yards.
The Charger offense really was the guilty party. Three turnovers, two on jump balls and a fumble deep in Baltimore territory made a big difference. The irony is that the Chargers outplayed the Ravens in the 2nd half even though they were outscored 16-7.

What's to play for? Street red. Keep proving that you are badder than ever before. Stop the nonsense, the girly dancing celebrations and undue posturing of a Ratbird doing his job. You get to win again, and have a winning season. Win one and punish Model lafter he screwed us.

Do it to make Harbaugh cry. Win to shut up some of the cheap-shot media. Win so we don't have that rotten taste in our mouth of a final loss as we "wait until next year."

Winning is its own reward, and it is everything." Win this one for Ravenkiller.
