I really love Hakeem Butler wr, Iowa St. Hope he declares for the draft. My best buddy at work, his brother is the Asst HC, Linebackers coach at Iowa St, told him he is the real deal and a great kid to boot.
He also told him Matt Campbell is really happy at the college level and would be really surprised if he ever went to the pros.

If anybody subscribes to The Athletic, I guess Dane Brugler (formerly of CBSsports.com) has a fairly comprehensive piece about draft-worthy players to watch in the post-Christmas bowl games. If someone here was a subscriber, was willing to summarize his article, and post the summary, I'd buy you a beer the next time we meet.

Go get some lottery tickets dawg ... Just saw this ... it was reported some time in the last couple of hours ... Hakeem Butler - WR - Player Iowa State redshirt junior WR Hakeem Butler declared for the 2019 Draft. This was an expected move for Butler, who graduated earlier this month. Butler (6'6/219) had a breakout junior season as one of the top receivers in the Big 12. A deep threat (22.1 YPR in 2018) with prototype size, Butler projects as a Day 2 pick with potential to rise leading up to the draft. Source: The Draft Network

At the moment this is where my head is at on the draft. If Dexter Lawrence's failed test is only weed then I'd be tempted to take him at 17. If by some miracle he's still available in the second round I'm definitely taking him.
If you where designing Haloti Ngata 2.0 he would be it. Bigger, stronger, faster. At 350 he is no big fatty. This guy is an athletic marvel. He is a 3 down player. He can push the pocket and force opponents to reassign double teams to the interior of our D line creating more 1-on-1 reps for Garrett.
I've also been intrigued by a number of LBs not named Devon White. Germaine Pratt, NC State; Trevon Coney, ND; Terrell Hanks New Mexico St; Khalil Hodge, Buffalo; Joe Giles-Harris, Duke; Gary Johnson Texas; and possibly Dakota Allen Tex Tech.

It is rumored that Lawrence’s pee test was for PEDs. The 6'4 350lb linemen who runs a sub 5 40 is on the juice? No way! I hope this drops him to the second round. Who cares if he took PEDS in college. It's the smart move, if you were to take them.

That article is now dated. His B sample came back positive December 28, 2018 - 1:28 pm ‘B’ sample confirms Clemson DT Lawrence out of playoffs … Clemson got the bad word yesterday that star junior DT Dexter Lawrence, along with two others, will not play in Saturday’s national semi-final against Notre Dame after failing drug tests. Minute traces of ostarine, a banned substance, were found in the systems of all three players last week and the school was awaiting the results of follow-up “B samples” to confirm the original results. Lawrence, who continues to maintain his innocence and is reportedly seeking legal advice, would face a one-year ban from college football were he sticking with school, but was already expected to enter the upcoming draft where he is projected to be a first round pick. And while the failed test isn’t likely to have a major impact on Lawrence’s ultimate draft grade, he will have some explaining to do at pre-draft interviews.

Per the US Anti-Doping Agency Substance Profiles Ostarine What Athletes Need to Know To take part in elite competitions, many athletes must comply with the World Anti-Doping Agency Prohibited List, a strict global standard that prohibits the use of certain substances and methods because of their potential to enhance performance and cause negative health effects. The WADA Prohibited List is an internationally recognized standard, with more than 660 signatories, that helps ensure that athletes can compete on a level playing field around the world. Among its various Prohibited List resources for athletes and their support personnel, USADA publishes substance profiles to highlight vital information about high-risk substances, including ostarine. What is ostarine? Ostarine is the trademarked name for a Selective Androgen Receptor Modulator (SARM) that is not approved for human use or consumption in the U.S., or in any other country. In recent years, WADA has reported an increasing number of positive tests involving SARMs, and athletes who use these substances most likely obtain them through black market channels. Research has shown that SARMs like ostarine have fewer androgenic properties, meaning they have less influence on the development and balance of male hormones, including testosterone. While they are not yet approved for human use, SARMs are of interest to the medical community because they might be effective at treating different health conditions without resulting in the negative side effects of steroids. Ostarine is currently being investigated as a way to treat a variety of muscle wasting diseases, such as osteoporosis, cancer, and hypogonadism. Is ostarine prohibited in sport? Yes, ostarine is prohibited at all times under the S1 Anabolic Agent category of the WADA Prohibited List. The number of positive tests involving ostarine has increased steadily over the past few years, with WADA reporting 28 globally in 2015. Do everyday products contain ostarine? There are in fact products that contain ostarine, but only illegal ones. Given that ostarine is not approved for human use or consumption in the U.S., or in any other country, there are no legal medications that contain ostarine. It’s also important to note that ostarine is not a permitted ingredient in dietary supplements. However, you should be aware that some dietary supplement manufacturers illegally put SARMs like ostarine in their products and sell them as “legal steroids” or “research only” chemicals. Moreover, they may omit ostarine from the label entirely, or use misleading names to confuse consumers. For example, ostarine may also be called enobosarm, MK-2866, or GTx-024. Some examples of supplements that contain ostarine can be found on the USADA High Risk List. Click here for an advisory on ostarine in supplements. What are the health risks associated with ostarine? Because ostarine is still being investigated for use in humans, the side effects have not been fully characterized yet. For recent information on the effects of ostarine, take a look at this 2013 study from the National Center for Biotechnology Information. What if I need to use ostarine as part of a medical treatment? Keep in mind that ostarine is not currently available as a prescription medication in any country. No matter what medical condition you have, your doctor is not legally allowed to prescribe ostarine to you as a treatment. https://www.usada.org/substance-profile-ostarine/

I am pretty sure that he didn't accidentally get it from hair products, energy drinks or anything as he claims

If someone here was a subscriber, was willing to summarize his article, and post the summary, I'd buy you a beer the next time we meet. It's too comprehensive to summarize other that to say that Brugler explains in detail each player and match-ups to watch for each Bowl Game. It was great work by Brugler. Here's a snippet from the Washington/Ohio State game and there are two more paragraphs detailing players and match-ups to watch just on this game alone.... Washington vs. Ohio State5 p.m. (ESPN), Rose Bowl (Pasadena, Calif.)There are a few dozen NFL prospects in this game, but the most intriguing matchup in my eyes is Ohio State redshirt sophomore QB Dwayne Haskins (6-3, 228, 4.77, #7) against one of college football’s best secondaries. With 4,580 passing yards, 70.2 percent completions and 51 total touchdowns, Haskins emerged as one of the best quarterbacks in the country this season, showing steady development each game. He hasn’t yet revealed his NFL decision, but it is very realistic that this is final game at the collegiate level. The Huskies’ defense led the FBS in yards allowed per completion (8.93) this season, led by redshirt sophomore CB Byron Murphy (5-10, 185, 4.48, #1) with 17 passes defended and four interceptions. He lacks elite size or speed, but Murphy more than makes up for it with his instincts, toughness and ball skills, projecting as an early first round selection. Similar to Murphy, junior SS Taylor Rapp (6-0, 215, 4.57, #7) won’t blow anyone away with his size/speed numbers, but he lacks a true weakness and his intelligence will impress pro coaches – and those types of safeties start in the NFL for a long time.

Thanks Milk Man - would you recommend subscribing to the Athletic? It seems like every time I see something I might want to read on ESPN, I run into its "Insiders" wall, and I don't really want to support ESPN. For one thing, I hate how they crash in on everything you read with unasked-for video & audio. But I like the Athletic's writers, and wonder if its worth the monthly $$.

I certainly think it is worth it. It's only something like $50 when you choose the annual billing option vs monthly. I've been a subscriber since The Athletic Cleveland launched several years ago.
The storytelling and in-depth journalism is something you don't find much of anymore and The Athletic excels at this.
Jason Lloyd and Zacn Jackson do a great job covering the Browns. Jason Lloyd recently did a fantastic piece on Baker Mayfield. Zack Meisel and TJ Zuppe do excellent work covering the Indians and did terrific pieces on Josh Tomlin and his dad as well as Trevor Bauer. Joe Vardon and Ari Wasserman do a great job covering the Cavs and Ohio State respectively.
You can also read articles from all the other teams in the cities The Athletic covers as well.
One of my favorite writers, Richard Deitsch, writes a weekly feature in The Athletic Ink, on sports media which is one of my favorite weekly reads and the "non-sports pieces of note" he recommends are always must reads.
Bottom line is that I feel that I get more than money's worth.

I'm not knocking Hakeem Butler, I think I see some of the same things that you like. Personally, I have a soft spot for sleepers. I'm always looking for the guy that few are looking for. This isn't true for all positions. I want solid prospects from established programs at DL, QB, OL and CB, more often than not. Anyway, when it comes to WRs, and RBs I tend to look for diamonds. So, two guys I think could make some noise in the league at the WR position are small school prospects. Emmanuel Butler of Northern Arizona could easily be had in round 4. I'd take 6'3" 220 Lbs, and 4.5 speed in round 4. I actually like him enough to take him with our 2nd 3rd round pick. Something tells me he could be that good. The other Butler Trevon Brown, East Carolina. I wish the clip did a more extensive evaluation of his game but he's a load at 6'2", 215 lbs and reported 4.4 speed. I'm continuing my search around the net for more on him. It's said that Dorsey's draft tendency is to wait on the WR position. These might be guys worth the wait.

This has been as exciting of a season as I have had watching the Browns for some time. It is also the most excited I have been going into an off season since after the 2007 season. With that in mind I think the Browns still have 2 glaring needs. #1 Another DT to play next to Larry Ogunjobi. They need to have the ability to stop the run as evidence by our defensive effort vs the Ravens today. #2 Another CB. When Terrence Mitchell got hurt in the Raiders game the Defense fell apart and could not stop the Raiders. Then they went on to loss 3 of the next 4 games and with the Raiders loss 4 out of 5. That was the bad spell this season that ended Hue Jackson's tenure and really ended the Browns hope of making the post season. With another good corner they probably beat the Raiders and Buccaneers during that spell. With pick #17 players like DT's Raekwon Davis from Alabama, Jeffrey Simmons of Mississippi State, and Christian Wilkins or Clemson and CB's like DeAndre Baker of Georgia, Greedy Williams of LSU, and Trevon Diggs of Alabama.

we definitely need help up the middle defensively We missed Shelton a bunch today. He may not have made a lot plays himself but he tied up blockers to allow the LBers to run free, also he was hard to move out of the middle which is where Baltimore ran most of the time.

Yeah, a true 3T is needed to go along side Ogunjobi
I had heard talk of us wanting a DE and to move Ogbah inside

DT and CB I see as our two biggest needs, possibly a DE. I would give up two 1st rounders plus, for an Aaron Donald or JJ Watt-type guy. FA should have an impact on the direction we go, keeping in mind BPA at #17...

I think Balt showed us what we need. DT like that kid that was suspended for Clemson.350# of run stopper.Maybe a LB to replace Collins. OH and Kicker that can actually kick and a WR that doesn't try to catch everything one handed.

Our D was gashed via the air and the ground pretty much starting after the Aints game ...
We need a few starters on D and a lot of depth .... we need some on O also .... sheesh ... INCREDIBLE how lucky we were n O this year ...
I dont believe any starters lost a game due to injury ... we lost Willies ... WOW ... that’s INCREDIBLY LUCKY if true ...
Am i correct or am i forgetting one or a few ... ya .. Higgins for 6 or so ... thats still incredibly lucky ...
Did any other starters miss time on O? ...

I would say it's one of the deepest wr classes I can ever remember seeing. I wouldn't be surprised if it's not vultures by gms like other skill positions in other years ie last year with rbs.

I'd like to see us take those 11 picks and trade them around to end up with maybe 4-5 quality picks
