Does anyone in the world trust Florio? I don't think I have ever seen a major media guy make more stuff up than he has. He totally makes stuff up. Listen carefully to how he delivers news and the words he chooses. You can tell he's making crap up most of the time. What a gig. Sign me up!

I just can't believe he's got a spot on NBC every Sunday ... total hack
"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Jeudy is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Tillman is flanked out wide to the right. Judkins and Ford are split in the backfield as Flacco takes the snap ... Here we go."

I get that people hate McDaniels, but in my opinion, he is one of the very few "bright" offensive minds in the NFL.
There is:
Shanny McDaniels McVay
I think Nagy has good schemes, but his game and clock management are beyond terrible.
I think Andy Reid is an schematic genius, but his teams always choke in the playoffs.

49ers who? Baker and Shanahan would not be fair for the rest of the league. Look what he did for Nick Mullens!

If given the choice between Mike McCarthy and Gregg Williams, I'm taking Gregg Williams. They are basically the same guy to me.

Cleveland Browns have reached out to former Packers coach Mike McCarthy: Report Updated 10:26 PM; Posted 10:26 PM STF Green Bay Packers head coach Mike McCarthy watches from the sideline during the second half of November game against the Vikings. (AP Photo/Jim Mone) AP (Jim Mone) 8 7 shares By Mary Kay Cabot, cleveland.com mcabot@cleveland.com BALTIMORE, Md. -- The Cleveland Browns have reached out to Mike McCarthy about their head-coaching vacancy, according to John Kryk of The Toronto Sun. A source told Kryk that the Browns have made an initial inquiry with McCarthy, who was fired Dec. 3 by the Packers. Browns GM John Dorsey has a longstanding relationship with McCarthy from their many years together in Green Bay. In his 13 seasons, McCarthy, 55, is 125-75-2, and led the Packers to a Super Bowl victory after the 2010 season. He's 10-8 in the playoffs. McCarthy also worked closely with Browns Assistant GM Eliot Wolf and Vice President of Player Personnel Alonzo Highsmith in Green Bay. The Browns will also interview interim coach Gregg Williams, who went 5-3 in his eight games. https://www.cleveland.com/browns/2018/12...thy-report.html

How did the leap from "reached out" to "next coach" happen? Easy... MKC makes stuff up all the time. She just probably assumed we would reach out. This guy in AZ probably has a better beat on it than she does.

This guy in AZ probably has a better beat on it than she does. She is more tied into the team that anyone else I can think of. That doesn't mean that disinformation, and/or incorrect info doesn't sometimes come from those in the organization. Look at last year, with Dorsey running everyone around as to who we were taking at #1. Few had tied us to Baker early on, even the national guys who had "insider info". Here is what Cabot wrote about the (probability) that the Browns were taking Mayfield. Why I believe Baker Mayfield is the Browns' pick at 1 tonight: Mary Kay Cabot | cleveland.com https://www.cleveland.com/browns/index.ssf/2018/04/why_i_believe_baker_mayfield_i.htmlSometimes a beat reporter reports facts, and sometimes they try to put pieces together. Very often the team doesn't give out all of the info ..... but she does a good job of getting to the facts. (and sometimes misinformation the team releases for their own purposes)

I also want to add this:
Here is what Cabot said about McCarthy ......

A source told Kryk that the Browns have made an initial inquiry with McCarthy, who was fired Dec. 3 by the Packers.
This is what reporters do ..... quote sources, and put info out there.

You're welcome to your opinion. I happen to disagree.

honestly, i wasn't impressed with McCarthy's offense at all. Seemed like it was more Rodgers than anything

Lets not forget MM has ties to Pittsburgh - he grew up in Mt. Lebanon I believe...an upper class town just outside the city.
I sure hope we are just doing our due diligence, I am not a huge fan of him. If we move on from Gregg/Kitchens, I want a guy that's going to be innovative on offense. I don't see MM being that. I think hes a decent coach - has the resume, but with a QB like A-Rod, I would argue he underperformed.

i'm sitting here looking at all the openings, I can't really think of one thats a better job. Given the turnaround, current talent, and capital for improvements. If i was to say anything that might be a negative here opposed elsewhere, its Jimmy Haslam. The power structure needs fixed

So we have us, the Bucs, Cardinals, Broncos, Dolphins, Packers, and Bengals. I’d say we have the best or second best job.

Question is ... ARE WE DONE YET ... Right now .... Browns Packers Jets Cards Donks Fish Bungles Bucs Thats 8 out of 32 ... and we may not be done yet ... 25% of the league is looking for new HC’s ... Man oh man ... thats ALOT OF NEW HC’S NEEDED ... that don’t bode well for keeping Freddie here as OC IMO ... i sure hope i’m Just being a worry wart and i have no clue if the new HC would want him (not sure why he wouldn’t ... i’m With Vers ... dude KNOWS O ... ) .. but it sure would be a nice option to have ... May be the only way to keep him is to hire him as HC .... Oh well ... gonna be fun to watch it play out as long as the THIEF stays in his lane ... the sign off only lane ...

McCarthy's offense <> Kitchens offense. Baker would probably be a good fit for it though.
McCarthy's defense < Williams defense. He made a bunch of ProBowlers look mediocre.

Personally I don't think there are any options out there who are better than what we currently have. All decisions should be made tomorrow.

Do we still have to satisfy the Rooney if you keep the interim HC and promote him to the official HC at season's end?
My thing is that none of these retreads scream "Hire me" and bringing anyone from college is a gamble in transitioning to the NFL.

i'm sitting here looking at all the openings, I can't really think of one thats a better job. Given the turnaround, current talent, and capital for improvements. If i was to say anything that might be a negative here opposed elsewhere, its Jimmy Haslam. The power structure needs fixed Say what you want, but Haslam picked Dorsey (he finally got it right) and look at the job Dorsey has done in one off season. So I think it's time to quit picking on Haslam... I think he finally got it right. And yeah, he misfired a couple of times. I'm Shocked and maybe not so much about Lewis. He was always a good coach, no doubt about it, but he could never get the Good teams he had over the top. The other team that might have some talent and a bright future is the Jets.. That could be a good job if you like NYC.
