And, again, I'll ask: Aside from 1 stare down of Hue, what has Baker done in the NFL to disrespect any player?

And the not wanting to hug thing after the first game? That's not even an issue. They shook hands.

You DO feel this way about players that talk smack about other players, on the field, right?

Vers is still just clinging to anything because he was so wrong about Hue even though he was shouting for all to hear how right he was.

Remember after he was fired and then again after our loss against the Chiefs how he continuously said "Well now we will start winning, right? Now we are going to start playing better because Hue was fired, right?"

Then "Looks like we played a lot better, right?" (After our loss to the Chiefs).

Vers is basically the dawgtalkers Cowherd. Tough to take him seriously. He'll keep shouting this mantra of "he's going to put a target on his back" so in 3 years when Baker gets hurt from a sack, or anytime a late hit or roughing the QB is called on Baker, he can say "see, I told you so! I called this three years ago!"

As usual, people resort to personal insults because they disagree w/another take.

I will remind you that I quoted Joel Bitonio. I will also remind you that there is plenty of former players talking about Baker's antics. I will also remind you that Baker had the same rep in college.

And look, I said all of that w/out once insulting the character of any of you guys.

What if I just quote everyone who says they love Baker and that he’s an amazing teammate and they’d follow him anywhere? Would that make me right?

Would that mean that Hue obviously was not the one who was holding our team back? It was because of his lack of talent and he had the respect of the players in the locker room?

You are misrepresenting my points.

But, do what you want. I'm not going to reciprocate and trash your character and try to get others to pile on. Have fun...

I'm not personally insulting anyone.

Aside from staring down an opposing coach (with or without good reason), what has Baker done or said to any opposing NFL player to put a target on his back for a cheap shot?

Hue was fired 2 months ago. Can't we let everything from that timeframe just fade into the background. We have a team that has made a remarkable turnaround since, and we should all be happy. We might just wind up with a winning record this season! How great would that be? laugh

I agree......and I know some will jump me for this, but I wasn't even talking about Hue. I was talking about Baker and what former and at least one current player are saying.

For the record.......I have no problem w/Hue being gone. The team is playing better w/out him. But, I'm sick of some people who continually want to keep bringing up Sashi and Hue. Neither are coming back. They're gone. The team is playing well. Time to move on.

It was just because we played cincy last weekend.

I suspect next year our players wont care about them other than in a "We must beat our rival" kind of way.

This year, the team needed to make a statement, and they did.

Props to them.

You made a comment about Baker's taunting that could cause retaliation. The only person I know of that he taunted (if you could call it that) was Hue. Are there any others? That's what I'm asking, that's not an insult.

I saw a couple of videos of Myles Garrett during the game which in both instances I think the media misinterpreted what was going on. In the first one they were saying Myles was overly excited like a kid at Christmas when in reality it was Myles running around waving his arms asking why Baker does that when it’s a good play. The whole point of this is, in the second video it was sideline on Myles during the Hue stare down. His exact words were “It’s really nothing that’s just Baker!”. This leads me to believe that Baker is just trolling Hue for the media to give his image the edginess the media is looking for. In other words there is no beef he’s just playing it up for the media’s sake. I believe Hue is even in on it. Just something I caught in passing.

Myles seems like a pretty funny dude. I like his lightheartedness.

I doubt the guys in the locker room think the staredown is a big deal... possibly because it wasn't.

Joel Bitonio seems to disagree.

Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

I know, because you've been spamming that across 3 different forums, lol.

An offensive lineman's number one job is to protect the quarterback. It's what they're trained to do on the football field since high school. Maybe earlier for some.

I'm sure he's concerned about Baker's well-being, just like any good offensive lineman would be. I'm sure he thinks about the possibilities-- media making this to be a big deal, and then a defender takes a late hit at Baker-- just like some of us are.

Whether that exact sequence of events happens and also leads to an injury remains to be seen. It's unlikely, but not beyond the realm of possibility.

I still don't care that Baker stared down his former coach, but you probably gathered that already.

Posted it here because I couldn't figure out what other thread it would have fit in better. I re-posted it on the main forum, per your request. I put it in the Bakers Acume thread. It you think of somewhere it fits better, let me know and I'll be happy to post it there as well.

Thanks Clem. I have always felt that if your dog doesn't like someone, be wary.

I don't mind that he did it. I like the attitude on a personal level. I just hope those type of antics doesn't cost him. And as I said, I'm not the only one who feels that way.
