I haven’t seen anything saying we have requested an interview with McDaniels. We did ask for one with Brian Flores, the Pats defensive coordinator.

Williams is not going to be back next year in any capacity. Why is that? His stock seems to have plummeted...a lot of people that were high on his chances have changed their tune lately. All the insiders have always maintained that Williams is/was not a serious candidate. I think teams view him as too old and too much of a wildcard.

It's probably being put on front burner because we don't want to see guys starting to take positions. Eh, I doubt it. We've probably got the best position available right now. I can't see some coach passing up an interview because some other team made an offer right away. We read that, and want to believe people want to come here, and I am sure some do, but when you have a 4-5 year deal in front of you, worth maybe 25-30 mil, not many are going to say, "I'll pass".

That is how it works....mine is still salt and pepper on top, or what is left on top. I lost enough I clipped it to a #1 4-5 years ago and now just so straight clippers with no guard. My stash is still salt and pepper with some remaining red hair if one looks close. When I was young my hair was very reddish, but darkened by the time I was a teen, except my beard, it remained a auburn color a number of year after that. I am a Jr. With my dark red hair, I because Rusty as a kid to avoid confusion. As I got older and not as red, it just became Russ, to avoid confusion in the household.

Maybe not at the moment, but soon enough. Teams don't want to end up holding the baggage at the end of the trip. If they make a good offer, they expect a answer.....otherwise it seems like he will take your job unless something better comes along. If it was me, if the coach didn't sign in 24 hours, it was obviously the wrong choice. If the coach wanted to be there, he would have signed.

If the coach wanted to be there, he would have signed. Or he wants as much leverage as possible to get paid as much as possible.

No one knows the real reason. I’ve heard he was concerned over Luck’s health and that the Patriots gave him a huge raise.

IMO ... This process is a dog and pony show.
You can not synthesize chemistry, and I could care less what the players are saying.
Chemistry can not be duplicated in a vacuum.
If we bring in a new coaching staff, there is going to be a period of learning, both from the players and the new staff, and we haven't even began to speak of learning new systems on both sides of the ball.

Maybe, but that's not the end of the world. Sean McVay's Rams went 11-5 in 2017.

That's right. No head coach, just a triumvirate. 1. Gregg Williams 2. Freddie Kitchens 3. John Dorsey Do we really need anyone else? (in ancient Rome) a group of three men holding power, in particular ( the First Triumvirate ) the unofficial coalition of Julius Caesar, Pompey, and Crassus in 60 BC and ( the Second Triumvirate ) a coalition formed by Antony, Lepidus, and Octavian in 43 BC. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TriumvirateWhy not?

Yes, why not!
It could be like missing the gleam in a gift horse's eye?
Or was it an aberration? ... Maybe it's these old eyes failing me?
Same players, different team the last half of the season.

When you have a team that is finally winning why would you blow it up? That's right your the Browns. NM.

Don't recall what happened to Lepidus, but at least three of those ended up eliminated fairly quickly.

in terms of chemistry, there's no doubt Baker and Kitchens have it ... that's why Riley was in the mix early this year (he and Baker have it), but has since dropped out of the running (we know Kitchens will be here)
"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Cooper is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Moore is flanked out wide to the right. Chubb and Ford are split in the backfield as Watson takes the snap ... Here we go."

Haven't been in here for a while...needed a break and to distance myself from the site. That said, as this is one of the most important decisions, if not THE most important decision the Browns and Dorsey have to make I wanted to weigh in...
How about Vic Fangio? Perhaps all the hush and secrecy is really because the guy Dorsey wants lays in waiting due to his team's postseason schedule? Makes sense....defensive minded coach who has turned most teams he has coached around, very highly respected and sought after and he is clearly ready to be a HC. He comes in and keeps Kitchens as his OC and then hire somebody like Bowles as your DC or ST? Not sure where Zampese stands...if Hue gets the Cincy job maybe he goes back down to the 513?

Man that speaks volumes about he character of the players and the Team as a whole.
I'm really proud of how they handled the coaching change.

If the guy is a Defensive minded HC I can see the strong suggestion for Kitchens to be the OC...this way he can concentrate on the Defense. Just like an offensive minded HC would like a strong DC who can take care of things from the get go. So he can concentrate on the offense...works the same way.
Of course unless its somebody like Arians who know Kitchens and would not have a problem with him as OC even though his bag is O.
But I said from the get go. Dorsey I'm sure knows who he wants but has to go through the process as it doesn't look to good for him to let it known and he goes gets him right away with only a Rooney rule Interview.
I'vs said from the get go...only McCarthy is a PLEASE NO situation for me.
I've said from the get go, In Dorsey I trust. As noted I think he had his guy but the current staff truly threw a monkey wrench in the mix as they coached beyond expectations.

What about Williams as DC.. He did mention somewhere along the line that he'd consider that. Fangio was brought up by Casserly as a really good prospect for a HC job. I don't think he linked him to the Browns however. (not that that matters)

Lepidus lost his control of hispania and gaul, given Egypt to be pleased and eventually lost that.
Lepidus survived the entire affair, but never had any real power during the triumvirate.

If a new coach wants to keep GW as DC I am down with that as it won't disrupt that room and the players know him and there is clearly chemistry there and they play hard for him. I was just thinking GW may decide to go elsewhere IF he is passed over as HC. Nevertheless, Amos is the one coach who HAS to go and I am sure he will be released. I didn't like that hire when it happened. We may all have grown tired of Tabor, but man we missed him big time this season! I am confident a few of our losses would have been wins with CT!
