I don't watch the late shows, but this was in my Twitter feed, so I figured I'd share.

If you were to tell me a decade ago I would see the Browns starting QB on a late show, with Reggie Watts and an emu, I would've asked if I could have whatever you were smoking. This was very funny to watch.

In the future, I'd advise against the host buttoning his jacket. But that's just me.

It would have been interesting if he had interviewed him about going to a team that has struggled, firing the coaches and then literally turning it around from week 9 onwards. Instead we get an intro, no interview and two people putting their faces on things. Entertaining, I suppose in a fluff way, but I guess I crave journalism.

It seems this is what late night TV has come to. Spend the first part of the show bashing Trump, let a celeb plug a movie or an album and then a skit or 2 like this. Every once in a while a decent band to close the show. The only host I can bear watching is Conan, and I don't even know if he's still on.

Lat night talk shows have never been about journalism.

Especially not the one who is most famous for his clips where he drives a musician or group and they sing karaoke.

This is why I don't watch it much at all unless there is a guest I really want to see. Not because I love Trump.. but during the Bush years they bashed Bush and Cheney constantly. During the Obama years they bashed McConnell and Boehner constantly. Now, well Trump is a pretty easy target.

I'm sure Johnny Carson had his own political beliefs but IIRC, he just bashed the absurdity of politicians. He wasn't an ideology or party shill..

The rest of late night hasn't really changed much as far as bringing out a celeb or two who have a movie coming out or a music release.. or sometimes an athlete or even a politician.. but when they have a politicians, it's usually not to make a deep dive into a policy discussion. I forget which senator was on their not long ago and they spent almost the entire interview talking about him dropping his daughter off at college and him playing softball.

I think that was part of the appeal of Leno too. While he might not of been as funny as Letterman or Conan, he at least was an equal opportunity basher when it came to politicians.

Why would a talk show have Baker on after the season ends,

I have a suspicision, (no, they weren't that hard up for guests,) I suspect the city of NY is just trying to plant seed to steal Dude away from the City of Cleveland the moment he becomes a free agent.

It's what they do.

After all, they did plant a media campaign to try to get the Browns to draft Darnold, so they could try to get the better player, Mayfield to their team.

Again, It's what they do.

If Baker continues his success, he isn't going anywhere. Teams don't let franchise QB's walk.

So what you're saying is that the city of Los Angeles is the one trying to steal Baker from the city of Cleveland. Interesting.

Because the only time to do it during the season is the bye week.. and because Baker is the hottest young name in the NFL.... and because he is a fun loving guy who would do something silly because he doesn't have a board up his butt..

I seriously doubt there is collusion between the NFL, the networks and a late late show with a British host to try to steal another teams QB 4 years from now.

I was watching 60 Minutes and I was hoping to see a celebrity rub his/her face all over an emu. Weird.

So what we're saying is that we need Arsenio back. Or maybe pass Joe Thomas off as Drew Carey. Maybe just get Drew Carey. Then not only can we retain our QB, we can poach other players via inane late night stunts.

To be clear, this is a really weird thing to talk about. Mayfield trained in LA all of last off-season. Most of his pictures on social media in the off-season this year are from LA. Many players don’t stay in the city they play in during the off-season. It’s not a problem at all.

I can understand that he may train elsewhere offseason.

But that doesnt mean he lives in LA. Or even trains there.

Also, I just looked at his instagram, and maybe 3 pics are from LA.

I feel he only goes there to visit her fam.

So I am asking you for something to back up your statement.

If he could claim permanent residence in Cleveland, with Ohio being a mid-level state tax place to live... why is it smart for tax purposes to establish a second residence in the highest taxed state in the country?

Wouldn't it make more sense, if he was establishing a second residence for tax purposes, to make it in his native Texas or Florida, where there is no state tax?
