This weekend, D.C. is unusually crowded. The third Women's March is happening Saturday, but on Friday it was preceded by the long-running anti-abortion March for Life and the Indigenous Peoples March. For the people attending the latter, it's an especially fraught time as the government shutdown is interfering with many basic services for Native Americans. This comes months after the Supreme Court ruled against Native voting rights in North Dakota, and just days after the president cracked jokes on Twitter about historic massacres.
Multiple videos have surfaced since Friday showing a group of teenage boys crowded around attendants of the Indigenous Peoples March. In the footage of the encounter, many of the boys are wearing Make America Great Again hats, and can be seen laughing at and imitating a Native drummer. One boy even stands directly in front of the drummer, as close as he can get, staring the man down for several minutes.

The boys are reportedly from the all-boys Covington Catholic High School in Kentucky, though according to the Cincinnati Enquirer there's no confirmation for that yet (the Enquirer did report that the school's website announced students would be traveling to D.C. for the March for Life). According to Indian Country Today, the man in the video is Omaha elder and Vietnam vet Nathan Phillips. The Indigenous Peoples March is neither a partisan nor explicitly anti-Trump event.

what a bunch of trash ass kids. but i guess christians teach their kids that this is perfectly acceptable behavior. Razor would be proud.
disgusting.
“To announce that there must be no criticism of the President, or that we are to stand by the President, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public.”
“To announce that there must be no criticism of the President, or that we are to stand by the President, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public.”
But that statement is true. Those kids learned that deplorable behavior from somewhere. And are they not Christians? All boy catholic school......

Possibly.
Aside from the issue I have with the behavior, which I DO have an issue with..........I have an issue with the assertion that Christians teach their kids that it is acceptable.
My kids were/are not taught that, I don't believe that, and our church doesn't teach that.
discrimination is an active part of all religions.
and we got to see it on grand display in the video.

I'm a Catholic. Not the most devote, by i consider myself one. This stuff is not taught in any Catholic Church I've been to. Nor at the Catholic College I went to. Whether it be in virtually all white Vermont or the diverse Catholic Churches i've been to in Connecticut.
Let's not paint everyone with a broad brush.
All Black people aren't thugs. All Hispanics aren't "Bad Hombres". All Irish people aren't drunks. All white people aren't racist. All Germans aren't Nazis. All Musims aren't terrorist. All Chinese people aren't good at math. All Catholic Priests don't molest children. And so on.
Generalizations are very dangerous. I don't like it one bit. Ever. No one likes to be generalized.
They just as likely learned it at home and in their communities.
Let's not use these idiots behavior as a reason to attack Christianity and especially the Catholic Church.
Let's point the finger where it belongs. At these High School Kids. Probably at the parents on the field trip, and these kids own parents. Possibly at this specific High School. But not at the whole religion of Christianity.
I see religion as having the highest body count in history. I see religion as the main culprit for discrimination.
I see religion as the main culprit for child abuse.
I didn’t see anything in this video, Charlottesville, or throughout history that says I should think otherwise.
Religion is not an ethnicity or race. It’s not LBGT or a gender. It’s an ideology. I will certainly paint it with whatever brush I choose.

Humans will divide themselves no matter what. If not by religion, then by plenty of other things. We've done this from the beginning of time. It's in our nature.
There'd be high body counts no matter what.
But, clearly we don't see eye to eye on this. I'm not sure what churches you've been to recently, but none that i've visited has been a proponent of this type of behavior.
I just don't see how an entire religion (Catholicism), which makes up 1.3 Billion People in the World, can be put to blame for this. A religion that people of many cultures/countries follow. I mean, just looking it up, up to 25 percent of Native Americans are Catholic. 580,000 out of 1.3 million Native Americans. How is that religion to blame for the actions of a group of High School kids who happen to go to an all-boys, from what i've heard (all-wealthy) High School?
Because it’s the overall issue of discrimination that stems from religion.
Discrimination is an active ingredient in any religion. That’s a fact. In order to believe completely in whatever religion of your choosing, you have to believe in the discriminatory practices that come along with it.
This particular issue isn’t just religion but conservativism in large. All male catholic school. And let’s not pretend like they aren’t sending a message wearing the MAGA hats.
I wish I could view religion in your eyes, but I simply can’t with all the evidence presented to me. Maybe in a different country religion isn’t so bad. But in this one? Toxic. And the primary source for why were so ass backwards half the time In this country.

I disagree that it's an active part of all religions. I disagree that it's religion.
But, you can, and will, feel however you'd like. If you'd like to continue to paint all Christians based on s tiny percent, go ahead. If you'd like to paint all whites on a tiny percent, have at it.

Eh, my Catholic Church is predominantly Hispanic. I would not equate the Catholic Church with Conservatism.
While the Pope might be against abortion (and probably still gay marriage, but hopefully we can get that straightened out soon enough), he's also against the wall and the narrative that Trump and the MAGA crowd has toward refugees, and undocumented immigrants.
So, i guess my church has a very different feel. And my Uncle, a Priest in small towns outside of Burlington Vermont, certainly would not be called a conservative. Nor is he judgemental about much at all. He's inclusive. And he's certainly not a Republican/Team MAGA. Very few people up that way are. None of the sibblings in my father's side of the family are, except my father himself.
I wish that you could see the Catholic Church I know. It's too bad. There's certainly bad things with it, but i don't think the Catholic Church is to blame for these kids actions. I'd go for something much more influencing. More-like their parents and home environments.

Arch justifying and arguing 'deplorables are people too' on behalf of the dregs of society again... no surprise there.
Really?
You don't have to own it Arch, it's obvious to us.
You are a troll to end all trolls. Pathetic on your part. Attempting to tarnish me based on me saying I didn't teach my kids to be hateful, and my church doesn't teach hate either?
Go away. I know you're in it for the fight. I'm not. You sent me a pm a while back, asking me to not talk about it. I've honored that, and will continue to do so.
If you choose to continue to attempt to make stuff up about me, go right ahead. You know it is, has been, and will be a lie. BUt if that makes you feel better about yourself, have at it.
Swish, you have, on multiple occasions, been quite certain about a variety of things, based on "Evidence" presented to you, that were completely wrong. Your buddy from the Congo and your college instructor were morons, and you believed them, hook, line, and sinker.
You seriously need to find better sources of evidence, and make an effort to be less ignorant. One key is to use multiple sources of information, and stop believing crap just because it sounds good.
Your statement that religion is the prime source of child abuse is magnificently uninformed. Those cases involving priests are simply the most newsworthy, and most memorable. As for making up anything like a majority of cases, or even as the single cause most represented, it's not even in the ballpark.
These kids were punk, high school, boys. They do stupid crap. Condemn them? For being dumbass kids? Sure, right after you show suitable disdain for antifa chanting about killing cops, which would be advocating violence, concerning law enforcement, neither of which these kids did.
You did say you came to realize that the crap you were taught about black women not trusting black men was total BS, how did you come to that realization that the "evidence" you had been shown was incorrect? Does that not indicate that other areas of your evidence might be similarly inaccurate?
No, because the historical evidence is quite clear. And why do you keep bringing up the Congo idea? I still followed through with investing into real estate and so far it’s working out great.
Just makes you sound completely salty.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but weren't these kids from a Catholic School?
If so, I don't remember the catholic church teaching or condoning this type of behavior..
The school bussed them to DC to protest a pro choice rally.
Where mike pence gave a speech.
