documentation will mean nothing. Some will - without doubt - vote trump regardless of what is proven beyond doubt.

the one thing trump said that was true: he could shoot somebody and still have support.

its on full display right here on the boards. quite pathetic.

Cohen's response to the Tennessee Reps first question was pretty impressive.

i agree, but what else was he suppose to do?

so far, not one republican has actually asked about the things cohen is accusing trump of. they are too busy trying to discredit the witness.

and hey, if its just about supporting the party, thats fine.

but if thats the case, then everybody, including trump supporters, need to finally admit that the republican party has turned into nothing but defense attorneys for donald trump, when we ALL know if this was hillary clinton, she'd already be burned at the stake.

big thing for me: cohen stating that trump got advance warning from stone about the wikileaks dump.

on speakerphone. this means cohen was also *part* of the reason why stone just got indicted.

dots coming together, and mueller is following the money.

The thing about this line of attack - that Cohen is not telling the truth:

1. He's under oath - having been found out about lying under oath before.
2. He has a plea deal in place - MUCH LIKE MANAFORT
3. If he lies and is found to be lying on ANYTHING his plea deal is void and he serves a TON of time....

What Manafort did and what Manafort is now suffering in terms of sentencing is a great reason why Cohen's testimony should be given every once of credibility - most especially when there is corroborating evidence

yep.

obviously we have to be super skeptical of cohen, because he is a lying felon.

but yea, this dude is not gonna jeopardize even more jailtime by lying today and voiding a plea agreement.

dude aint trying to sit in jail for the rest of his life like Manafort.

yo the GOP's questions don't even make sense. dude just asked about boxes of evidence, cohen states they were boxes returned by investigators, yet GOP Higgins tried to claim they should've been turned over....

lmfao, what?

Cloud is such a tool and wasting Congress's time ... he's bringing onto record a bunch of stuff already on public record. What a total tool.

I do see another line of attack with the GOP - because he won't sign away book deals he is somehow an even worse human being.

Seriously, what's the matter with you? it's been explained about a million times... Can you not read, can you not hear.

It was their own money that we confiscated years ago. It wasn't our money.. Yeah, I guess we could have kept it.. and you can bet Trump would have found a way to pocket some of it for himself. But Obama did the right thing by returning it. They agreed to certain things, as of a couple of weeks ago, Iran is STILL complying with those certain things..

To be fair, Dems are throwing out Soft Ball questions and and Reps are throwing accusations and anything to discredit him.

Like I said, if he proves his comments, I'm good, if he doesn't, I don't pay attention to it.

Michael Cohen says the last time he spoke with Trump, or someone on his behalf, was two months after the raid of his home, but says he can't elaborate:

"Unfortunately, this topic is actually something that's being investigated right now by the Southern District of New York."

the dems aren't wasting time asking question they already know the answer to. they are asking about the dynamics with trump, the business, the payments, etc. questions that we all want answers for.

the GOP just keeps reviewing the charges against cohen and asking him if he's a good lawyer. i am especially disappointed by ohio GOP jordan and gibbs. they looked completely unprepared.

If I was there - the question I would ask/frame:

- Mr Cohen, as you have highlighted, many here are determined to focus on discrediting you in an effort to undermine anything and everything you may say here today that could reflect negatively on the President. While as the 'fixer' and close confident of the President for many years - you were under the assumption that today you would be asked about questionable or outright illegal activities by Mr Trump either before he was President, while he ran for president or once he became President ... be that as it may - can you please explain: based on the plea deals and interaction you have with federal and or state prosecutors: [A] What do you stand to gain by telling any lies today [B] What would you stand to lose today by telling any lies.

And I'll add I will focus on your testimony while under oath not the paperwork you signed that has one of my colleagues to uptight.

this higgins clown makes no sense.

cohen just stated the boxes he's referring to was raided by the feds and then returned to him, yet higgins is framing it as if cohen hid evidence from the feds during the raid.

good lord.

Also ... I thought the one really outstanding question was "what does Trump most fear" .... and I think Cohen side stepped that nicely - and my take is that he sidestepped it for not revealing what might be in the other investigations he is helping with.

Bro, the GOPers seem to be from a different reality were conspiracy theory talking points all tangled up like an orgy of slurs and spat out like a diarrhea emergency from their mouths has become the replacement for rational thought and coherent communications.

The GOP is now trumps own personal defense attorneys.

They better pray the mueller report clears trump, cause if it doesn’t, there’s gonna be a lot of resignations in disgrace from the GOP side.

Right. It’s common knowledge that trump knew and authorized the payment, and lied about it.

GOP playing games as usual.

You know at this point we have :

- a convicted e-x Trump lawyer giving testimony about real life crimes by Trump.
- The GOP smearing him and not interested whatsoever in doing any investigating
- Dems by and large really not doing a whole lot more
- There appears to be some corroborating evidence Cohen has to substantiate some of what he says.

What does it mean? Not a lot - I guess just like the Mueller investigation until there is PROOF of anything - nothing will matter and nothing will happen.

But I find it particularly disturbing that there seem to be many that do not care what Trump has done. They are not interested int he truth - all they want to do is deflect and obstruct.
