Now that we signed Robinson, they said next up is Perriman.
AS noted Higgins is a RFA no problem there as we should be tendering him. Anyone knows when you cannot tender any more???
I don't think too much about WRs we also have Strong as well. Franchise and transition tags must be in by 4PM, March 5th.
If everybody had like minds, we would never learn. GM Strong

Speaking of guys who might be drafted later, one guy who caught my eye this year was Deandre Baker from Georgia. He's not the biggest guy, but he is very physical. He is good in run support and can play both man and zone. If he slips out of the first round, I would think that he would be worthy of trading up for at the top of the second round.
I watched a lot of Georgia games this year and this cat can play. He would be great opposite of Ward. He can also cover slot receivers. I'd like to get Turk's take on him because he is a big Georgia fan.
As a Georgia guy, Baker excites me a lot. He's a guy you can leave on an island and he'll hold his own. He wins with his physicality; this is both in the passing game, but also his support against the run. I think he has good instincts as well. I always thought he had longer arms than most, and he uses them well to break up some difficult passes. It's like some players have this innate instinct that in quick time, things just move in slow motion, which allows him to make an 'easy' play on the ball. I'm really interested in his 40 time. On tape, he can sometimes look a step behind some WRs on deep routes. In college, thats okay because QBs for the most part aren't as accurate so he has time to catch up and make a play on the ball. In the NFL, it'll be a different ball game, so he'll likely have to make some adjustments to his game (which all CBs do as they enter the league). He's also so physical and feisty, I'm slightly concerned about PI and defensive holding calls. I don't want him to get picked on bc QBs know they'll get an easy flag on him (think Buster Skrine). Overall, I think he's a very solid corner. The instincts and physicality are his best traits. His confidence helps him as well. If he times under 4.5, he's definitely being drafted in the 1st round. Heck, even if he doesn't, I think he'll go in the 1st round anyway. I think he's one of the most well rounded CBs in this draft class. He can do it all.

Jeremiah has Greedy ranked 38th. I looked up DBs yesterday and Murphy was ranked high, but even though I watched Washington play twice, I don't remember a thing about him.

TAGS Franchise and Transition 4pm March 5th.
Tenders to RFA like Higgins 4pm. March 13th. Which I think is also the start of FA agent negotiations period???
To answer my question. Thanks Peen, Guard Dawg and others!

Ugh. Trying to figure out a mid 1st round pick is such a strange sensation.
Nick Bosa- DE- Ohio State Quinnen Williams- DT- Alabama Josh Allen- EDGE- Kentucky Ed Oliver- DT- Houston Jonah Williams- OL- Alabama Jeffrey Simmons- DT- Mississippi State Devin White- ILB- LSU Clellen Ferrell- DE- Clemson Dwayne Haskins- QB- Ohio State TJ Hockenson- TE- Iowa DeAndre Baker- CB- Georgia Kyler Murray- QB- Oklahoma DK Metcalf- WR- Ole Miss Greedy Williams- CB- LSU Christian Wilkins- DT- Clemson Andre Dillard- OT- Washington State Byron Murphy- CB- Washington Rashan Gary- DT- Michigan Jaquai Polite- EDGE- Florida Jawaan Taylor- OT- Florida Josh Jacobs- RB- Alabama Montez Sweet- EDGE- Mississippi State Marquise Brown- WR- Oklahoma Dexter Lawrence- DT- Clemson Deonte Thompson- S- Alabama
Even if the 2 QB's go in the top 10 (heck, maybe even a surprise 3rd QB), considering J Simmons injury I think, talent wise (for me anyway), Baker may be the best option at 17. But, can we honestly take a DB for a 3rd straight year in the 1st round? Guess they say you can never get too many...
I keep coming back to him and Christian Wilkins.
As long as we end up with a non-QB "Byron Murphy" or better from the above list I'll be satisfied. Sorry for the long list, btw, I don't like Rashan Gary that much so I spent the morning updating my top 25 to see if anything changed. It still hasn't... then again, the combine just got rolling...
Watch us end up taking Andre Dillard. Kind of curious who all we "talk" to at the combine. Or, at least, what positions are we most actively pulling aside for a chat.

To simplify the above rant, my current 'possibilities" if we stay at 17 are:
DeAndre Baker- CB- Georgia DK Metcalf- WR- Ole Miss Greedy Williams- CB- LSU Christian Wilkins- DT- Clemson Andre Dillard- OT- Washington State Byron Murphy- CB- Washington
Problem is, half of them are CB's.
