Well dawgs .... things are starting to get real .... franchise lists are in ... good players are getting cut .... And dare i say WERE THE #1 DESTINTION for FA’s today with the cap room to boot ... My oh my how things have changed in the last 12 months ... it was just two short years ago when we offered Tony Jefferson the most money and he took less from the rats to go there ... THOSE DAYS ARE GONE .... I wonder if we’ll make a play for Trey Flowers ... man is he good ... but he’s gonna cost ... A LOT ... there’s another FA Patriot we may be interested in ... a FG kicker .. not even gonna attempt to spell his name .... *L* IF CJ Mosley makes it to the market (still not sure he will ... rats may be cutting space to sign him before FA starts) do we make a play for him ... Do we go after one of the plethora of safeties out there ... And there’s gonna be a few more surprise cuts coming ... I’m SOOOOOOOOooooooooooooooo excited .... LETS GOOOOOOOOoooooooooooooooo

And free agents hearing "get your mind right and come to cleveland" "there's a place for you"... Jarvis is lighting up Twitter. Damarious Randall calling Dorsey "low key genius".
You have to go waaaay back to find a time where Cleveland was a desirable landing spot for FAs... and here we are... one year removed from 0-16.
Let's get'r done Johnny Boy!

I think we'll see the something go down sooner rather than later. KJ moved quickly with Hunt - did his due diligence and got the first seat at the table.
Now he's been slow playing the entire market for about a month. Draft capital, cap space, and that other thing - "the IT factor". Baker spreading it and VG preaching it... why wouldn't you want to come here? Wouldn't this be a top 10 landing spot for anyone on either side of the ball? Top 5? Some would say so. VG, Baker, Randall, Njoku will tell you straight up... it's the only place to be.
LETS GOOOOOOOOoooooooooooo ...

Trey Flowers is a very good player. Another guy to keep an eye on is Trent Brown, their LT. They signed him for less than $600,000 last year to replace Solder and I think he played very well. I saw him absolutely abuse Joey Bosa in the playoffs and that is saying something.

Removed "Browns" from all social media accounts.
However, I don't think this is the first time he has done this.

let's think which teams need a pass catching 3rd down back?
Rams might be a sleeper
"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Cooper is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Moore is flanked out wide to the right. Chubb and Ford are split in the backfield as Watson takes the snap ... Here we go."

I am asking this of of sheer ignorance but when posters use initials instead of names I sometimes have no clue who some of you guys are speaking of. Most times I can figure it out but I have just looked through the entire roster, list of coaches and front office and can't find a KJ or VG. Can you elaborate? Sorry I asked too soon. I went a few more posts and got my answer. No wonder I had no idea.

Not a fan of this move .... hope its not true .... Normally I would say so, but they really want to move him. I would be ok with a next year 1st, duke or Collins, and a 3rd.

U guys are dreaming ... they will take a value hit but no way will it be one where it doesn’t include a first ... no way will they just give him away ... not a shot in heck ...
VG/OBJ are entirely different scenarios ... OBJ just signed a long term deal ... VG was tendered so they could trade him ...
That brings up a good question ... what would the dead money be if they traded OBJ ...

don't think theres dead money when you trade, only if you cut. We're assuming the entirety of the contract

The signing/workout bonus money, which is paid at once but teams can amoritize the money over several years would be considered dead money on their books, if I recall correctly. And it's alot for Beckham.

The reason the Dolphins didn't have a cap hit with Landry was that he didn't have any bonus money that would count against the cap. The Giants would take a big cap hit trading obj.

From what I have seen, his singing bonus was $20 million, so the remaining $16 million would hit this year's cap, depending on when they were to trade him.

they wouldn't take any cap hit, they would actually save 1million Beckham’s 2019 cap figure consists of a $16.75 million base salary, the $4 million prorated signing bonus and a $250,000 workout bonus which he probably wouldn’t collect given that he prefers to train in Los Angeles in the offseason.
If the Giants were to move Beckham, his dead money hit would be $16 million on the cap while the Giants would save $17 million (his base salary and his workout bonus). So in reality, the Giants would net a $1 million cap savings if they were to trade away Beckham.

Completely agree. Gostowski wasn't franchised by the Pats. I'd love to bring him in. He's 35, so certainly on the back end of his career. But he's better than what we have. This guy Wil Lutz is available. But he's a Saint, so he kicks out of the dome in New Orleans and Atlanta. Also he's an RFA. Haven't been able to find out his tag. And Jason Myers of the Jets, who just went to the probowl. I say go with Gostkowski

Yep. The $4M per for the next four years. The signing bonus amoritized through 2022.

the key is if they trade him before or after June 1 If the Giants trade OBJ before June 1, they would save $5m in cap space, but would take a $16 million dead cap hit this year.
If they trade him after June 1, they would save $17m in cap space this year, but would take a $4m dead cap hit this year and $12m in 2020.

to me the biggest risk in trading for OBJ is his attitude
"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Cooper is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Moore is flanked out wide to the right. Chubb and Ford are split in the backfield as Watson takes the snap ... Here we go."

either way, i'm not sure why Gettleman would want to. OBJ is still young enough to help with any rebuild

Still strange to me that NYG would keep propping up Manning with strings every year but let a guy like Collins go, and if the rumor of trading OBJ are true...just what exactly is he doing

Thanks for the breakdown ...
I agree with your line of thinking ... theres 16 mill in dead money but 17 mill comes off the cap in salary and the bonus for a net of a negative 1 million ....
Who cares about dead money the over all net of minus a million is what counts in my book ...
Can someone explain why thats not the proper light to view that in ... cause it sure sounds logical to me ...
U guys are still dreaming ... no way they don’t get a first this year ... no way ...
Also ... i’ve Heard about AB’s dead money being like 15 million ... does anyone know what the net gain or loss would be with him when the stilers trade him? ...

Their GM is out to lunch. He is the same guy who killed the Panthers.
