Rep. Ilhan Omar slams Barack Obama's message of 'hope and change' as a 'mirage'Rookie Democratic Rep. Ilhan Omar, fresh off igniting an intra-party uproar with comments widely viewed as anti-Semitic, took a swipe at former President Barack Obama, saying in an explosive interview the 44th president's message of "hope and change" was a "mirage" and blasting his administration's drone and border detention policies. Omar, D-Minn., took aim at the president's famed slogan, while further criticizing the Democratic Party for “perpetuating the status quo,” in the interview with Politico. “Recalling the ‘caging of kids’ at the U.S.-Mexico border and the ‘droning of countries around the world’ on Obama’s watch," Omar charged that Obama "operated within the same fundamentally broken framework as his Republican successor,” the piece reads. https://www.foxnews.com/politics/rep-ilh...nge-as-a-mirage How many threads are you going to post your same propaganda in? Always beating the drums of divide like a good little Trumpian. smh You calling Omar a liar? Wow,, pot meet kettle... You won't call Trump a liar after 9000 some lies and/or misleading statements, this girl has been in office less that three months and you already decided she's a liar.. I'm convinced you don't know the definition of the word Liar li·ar /ˈlī(ə)r/ noun noun: liar; plural noun: liars
a person who tells lies. "the man was a notorious liar" synonyms: deceiver, fibber, falsifier, teller of lies, teller of untruths, perjurer, false witness, fabricator, equivocator, prevaricator, spinner of yarns; More romancer, fabulist; informalstoryteller; rarefibster
Perhaps that will help you

She's actually both wrong and right; problem is the wrong is what is getting magnified. Swish nailed it with "she is becoming more trouble than she's worth."

The context is that Obama put kids in cages and deported so many illegal immigrants. Yes, he did not separate kids at the border or put 2 year olds on trial, but I'll be damned if I celebrate someone for not being absolutely horrible.
She also didn't say it on Twitter, she said it in politico.

It's not where it's said, it's the manner in which things are being said. In sound bites.
I think that's where people think that most support everything a president does or nothing a president does.
We've heard the right say Obama was weak on immigration. Anyone who has paid attention has heard me say over and over again that he was the toughest president before Trump on immigration. Tougher than any Republican who came before him.
What I think you are failing to recognize is that the biggest criticism of Trump is his refusal to follow the asylum laws and separating children from their parents. Both things that have changed since he became president.
Obama did put illegal immigrants in cages. They were immigrants suspected of criminal activity, who had outstanding warrants and were convicted felons.
Like I said earlier, it's the actual context of things that aren't being spelled out.

People really need to weigh it out. Sometimes the weight in one direction is pretty damned heavy.

...and even at that, he got the quote wrong.
In 1983, Tom Metzger called Black people 'obsolete farm machinery.'
It's pretty sad when he can't even keep up with clods like Metzger.

I wonder why he resigned? Our black face wearing Democrat Governor said he would never resign, just be more sensitive in the future. That seems to be working out for him as everyone has gone tight lipped.

how do these clowns make it through the vetting process?

She didn't give a soundbite. You read a soundbite from Fox News that summarized a good article that Politico had on her. She's 1000% right when she says the problem is the institution, not the President.

I don't see how any of that changes what Trump is and what you actually supported. My dad called that rationalizing a mistake. I'll vote for Trump in 2020. I know who he is and what he is. I knew who he was and what he was before I pulled the lever the first time. I was out there cautioning friends, family, and strangers who had such high expectations about Trump pushing a conservative agenda. I fully expected there would be times where he would break with the GOP and push through something the Dems wanted. The reason he hasn't advanced the left's agenda is because they've acted like, and continue to act like such a-holes. He won't go along with them out of spite. Spite seems like a decent if temporary bulwark against their madness. I'll pull the lever for him again because I know what the left was, currently is, and where it wants to go. It's a dangerous and disasterous road and I can't abide that. Unless another candidate comes along which I find better, and so far I've yet to see that, I will also vote for Trump in 2020. I know what he is and what his tendencies are in particular situations. I may not like everything he does but he lays it all out there. From what I can tell the democrat party is slowly dying from within, has no known leaders, and has no message to the American people. You will NOT win the 2020 election if your only message is about hating Trump, I can guarantee that. Some democrats, the smarter ones probably realize this, others still sadly don't. Worse yet, for those who do have a message of other than hating Trump, they do the only thing that you cannot do; Move further left.

Knowing his tendencies are the exact reasons not to vote for him. When a man's biggest, greatest and most often used tendency is to lie, that should say it all right there.
Taking the word of Putin and Kim Jong-un over our own justice department are another tendency.
I'm certainly not saying one should blindly support anyone the Dems throw out either. But what I am saying is that there should be come minimum standard in who ever we do support. Sometimes supporting none of the above is the best option.

For some reason those minimum standards that you're talking about don't seem to have been applied recently, towards any of the main parties. Personally I think all members of congress should be dismissed tomorrow and both parties should be figuratively blown up and do a complete reset but that won't happen.
If given the choice of a socialist candidate versus Trump, I'd vote against the socialist one every single time. A vote against that is better than sitting out in my opinion.
The problem that I see is Democrats continuing to go further left while Republicans continue to go hard right. I wish the whole United States would vote for the third party candidate but because of money, politics, influence, and the current system, that will not happen.

In my opinion the last time we had worthwhile candidates to actually vote FOR would have been in the early to mid nineties.

I can't see what's in the white box of the original post.
When I see a thread titled Blind Followers, I got to think it's about people who vote for those in the democratic party. right? right.
2008, Obama, Stimulus package,... unfunded mandates.
today, (yesterday and two days ago actually)..
Ohio "neeeds" to raise the gasoline tax by a THIRD! and diesel even more.
Republicans still aren't attacking me as much as democrats, when either is in office.
so don't vote blindly.
Thank God, again today, the president is not a democrat.
still never seen one person, in my LIFE, tell me democrats are good, on because of what they do.
and crazy enough, I'd be willing to listen. But they DON'T! they don't even care to try to say they are doing the right thing, all they ever do is say, "take that" democrat policy = you are going to have to do what we say, or else. ... bohica pretty much. bad.

What an utter load of crap. Neither side does anything for the individual. NOTHING. I'll give you that much but your must be completely blind not to see that democrats seem to fix the messes, usually financial, that the Republicans leave every time they hold power.
The dem platform, should any of their ideas ever come to fruition, is much more geared toward helping the middle and lower class. However, since Clinton was in office, the GOP is only willing to compromise if they get cornered. They created this take it or leave it BS we have today.
So explaining what good the dems do, is like explaining how good a cook is to a starving man with no access to food. It's all pointless because nothing can get done. Obama's "Hope" platform never stood a chance once republicans took the Senate and McConnell became leader. He refused to do anything for Obama at all, even when the country needed it. Nothing but obstruction and fear mongering. That's all this GOP knows. They are a bunch of ass clowns with idiots for constituents.
Now we have the like of Jim Jordan running the halls of congress! What an absolute idiot he is! The right when so far toward cuckoo town under Bush, then Obama that they changed the entire political landscape. Reagan wouldn't be considered Republican enough today to be elected dog catcher.
That's why I left them,or they left me. I moved to center then left to counter what I think is the weirdest, stupidest, craziest crap I've ever seen. So IMHO the best thing about the dems is that they are still sane. GOPers think policies are personal attacks now too I guess after reading your tripe.
