I like the trade. Still not sure what this defense will look like, but there are definitely some playmakers on the DL and secondary. Let’s get some LB worth a damn and terrorize opposing offenses.

One thing we know for sure..........Dorsey isn't going to sit around and wait. When he sees personnel issues, he does his best to correct them. He's worked miracles in just a short period of time.

Dorsey certainly has been very active and seems to have us pointed in the right direction. The hardest part though, is getting those last couple of pieces to complete the puzzle...

I am still curious about the fact that Garrett and OV have played the majority of snaps at the same position.

With the more wide open offenses today, TEs are lining up tight on the line less often, so the traditional strong side/weak side differences are not as stark. So maybe RDE & LDE are more schematically interchangeable then they have been in the past. It is certainly true that many of today's best rushers are lining up at LDE. And yes, guys move around on the DL more in today's defenses, as well, although I'll admit I don't have a clue about Wilks' philosophy on this.

And if it isn't a stretch schematically, what will the comfort level be for these guys at LDE, especially OV? I thought I remember reading that Garrett took a significant # of snaps from that side. No clue about OV, but those highlights that were shared were all RDE snaps.

What are everyone's thoughts on this?

Clearly the hardest/biggest part .... now for us ... it was shoring up some holes on the D ...

Pass rusher opposite Myles is now solved ...

Now it’s time to adress the run D ...

After that gents we can ... dare i say ... look for depth while looking to the future ...

ITS A GREAT TIME TO BE A DAWG ... WOOFWOOF ...

Has there been a statement from the Browns that the RG job is Corbetts now? I'm just curious...as I'm wondering if Dorsey may end up going after Mitch Morse from KC, and possibly stretching him.

I don't think we will name anyone at RG until Training camp starts. Lets see what we do in FA and the Draft.

I think whomever lines up at RDE is going to have a huge advantage against slower RTs in the passing game. I'm not really sure about the run game. We'll have to see. I also think that Ogbah and Chris Smith will still get reps and can help stop the run.

I think there will come a point in time where he has no to know when to dial it back as well. Not just make moves just to make them.

Btw Vernon lined up a lot against the RT mostly LT but still a lot meaning more than the norm you get the #1 Edge Rusher - I think he will be comfortable over there.

Also don't know our DC what he wants in our DL and now specifically our DTs is it speed. Will we see Ogbah move inside on all downs? Or just passing downs.

jmh?

I thought Ojbah really struggled getting off blocks when he played inside last year. I think we should leave him as a rotational DE.

I'm not a DE expert...but I've read a lot of opinions from valued posters/blogger-types that Ogbah should be a DT only on passing downs. FWIW

Ogbah played with a sprained ankle that kept him out for 2 games, and almost certainly limited here the rest of the way.

And when do you propose he's done that?

Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

There will be guys added that will play roles. Similar to Fells last year.

JD will do something at LB.

We have a stud at two levels Garrett on the line and Ward in the backfield.

When the season ended my dream was for what I called a monster at linebacker. That can be outside or inside.
I think highly of Avery and I expect him to play very well in his second season. But I want a bomber like Devin White.
I could be happy with Mosley.

Avery's proved he could rush. He also when asked showed he can drop and cover. Mostly in zone but once in while he tracked a TE.

What I love about White is his speed and reaction to go from sideline to sideline. The first tape I saw. I was sold. He made everybody else look like they were in slo-mo.

Mosley is smart. He knows how to play. He is best in run support but just because some have written his cover skills are lacking. I am not convinced.

At 26 the game is still about improving everyday.

In the end though I know Buddy Boy. He is going to add the pieces.

Typical, the Browns trade one of the best OG in football for a mediocre, DE. A guy who hasn't had a double sack season since 2013....a has been.

The history of smart football guys coming to Cleveland and then having an intellectually lobotomy continues...1st Hunt, and now this...lol...we have all seen this story before...it doesn't end well...how many times do folks need to see if before they get the message? Im thinking they never will get the message...

I don't think he is mediocre but also don't think he is great. I get the x < 10 sacks concern but the questions is, would he produce better if he wasn't alone on an island rushing the passer like he was in NY? I don't know the answer to that.

My biggest concern is his injuries. He has missed a decent amount of games in the past two years. Also, I don't think he is worth his contract (thats why NG were trying to move him for a bit) but I don't think we'd ever lose cap money if it didn't work out.

Injuries past 2 years were High Ankle sprains - those happen - nothing serious in my opinion. He may not have huge sack numbers, but he definitely has a lot of QB pressures and had little help from anyone else on the Giant D-line. With MG on other side, I expect those numbers to increase.

In addition, he plays the run well.

Personally I don't like this trade. HOWEVER I will be glad to admit Dorsey is much smarter than me, and I will take a wait and see attitude before I bash it, or praise it.

Vernon's sack numbers would be alot bigger if he could actually finish..one of his biggest weaknesses is he isn't a good tackler...should fit right in here..lol

I wish we had little more to go off of with Corbett. That said, Dorsey deserves the benefit of the doubt after the guys he got early in the draft last year.

While Landry is certainly overpaid for his on the field production, what he brings off the field is worth the cash imo

Corbett did everything we asked him to do last season, and he has worked hard at everything we have asked him to do in the off season. The kid is smart, and hard working. BUT we have to still see how that translates into his play this season.

Well I think you wanted us to draft a QB in the first round this year because even after watching Baker week in and week out lead the Browns to a rookie QB record .... so I don't know what to tell you other than after listening to anything you suggest we should do the opposite.

I am disappointed to see Zietler go - I'm very excited to see what Miles Garret can do opposite a legitimate pass rusher (or even from the same side) and I am intrigued to see how Corbett or whoever steps into Zietler's RG spot performs.

Both but I included the SO FAR on Harrison only. Corbett is exactly what we thought he was. Harrison has ALWAYS had the talent, his problem was always with his desire and attitude. SO FAR he has been great this off season.
