Houston to NE would be typical

Yep, it almost writes itself. I really wanted Houston, but now there's no point with Vernon. He'd be a situational pass rusher here now.

Meh... if we ran a 3-4, I'd jump at Houston as a short term guy...but we don't.

He'd be splitting work in a 4-3. I just hope he doesn't end up in Baltimore or Pittsburgh.

My guess is Tyrell Williams will be the first free agent we sign.

Perriman is being consoled to let the market set his price. That is what agents are paid to do.

Williams offers more potential.

It will take receivers off the shopping list. And we will probable sign a few other role players in FA.

The draft Board will be set after free agency. And we can look at BPA on defense.

The draft plan should be interesting. It may be hard to draft ten roster slots. I believe will use this draft to target some guys and use the extra picks to make things happen.

Colts have more money and a WR need, too. My guess is Williams ends up there.

The Rams still kind of make sense for Justin Houston, just less than five minutes ago.

I think us trading for Olivier Vernon killed a little bit of the edge market for free agency. I think we were viewed as a definite player in that market and the trade took us out of running. Now there are only a few teams that have the money and the need to sign the top tier guys.

I'd expect Trey Flowers to still get paid (around $40 million guaranteed), but many of the other guys (Ezekiel Ansah, Justin Houston, Clay Matthews, Terrell Suggs, etc.) to take one year deals (or what amounts to one year deals). The only guy I'd expect to get a long term deal, besides Flowers, is Za'Darius Smith (in my mind he is 2019 Paul Kruger).

I also wonder about the titans...remember they lost both LBs (Orakpo retired, Derrick Morgan is a FA I believe)

DANNY AMENDOLA
WR, DETROIT LIONS

Lions signed Danny Amendola to a one-year, $4.5 million contract.
Cut by the Dolphins last week, Amendola was linked with a return to New England, but he instead signs with Patriots North -- GM Bob Quinn and coach Matt Patricia both made their names in New England. It is not a blockbuster signing for the Lions, but they needed someone to occupy the middle of the field with Marvin Jones and Kenny Golladay on the outside. Even at 33, Amendola should be able to handle that job for one season.

Today is the first day of "legal tampering", the most ridiculous term ever. It's also known as "get nothing done at work" day as I will be refreshing twitter every 30 seconds.

KWON ALEXANDER
LB, TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS

ESPN's Jenna Laine reports the "asking price" for free agent LB Kwon Alexander is $11-$12 million per year.

That price would make Alexander the second-highest paid off-ball linebacker in the league behind just Luke Kuechly and ahead of Bobby Wagner. Alexander is a solid player, but he does not belong in that conversation, especially coming off a torn ACL. Much crazier contract have been handed out in free agency over the years, but it would be surprising if Alexander got his price.

MALIK JACKSON
DL, PHILADELPHIA EAGLES

Eagles signed DT Malik Jackson, formerly of the Jaguars, to a three-year, $30 million contract.
The originally reported deal of three years and $10 million never made much sense, but this is still good business for the Eagles. Only 29, Jackson remains a quality and versatile interior pass rusher who should play a big role in replacing Michael Bennett's production. With Jackson on board, the Eagles will once again boast one of the best defensive lines in the league in 2019.

That doesn't make much sense. The Raiders used their 1st and 3rd rnd picks last year on OTs (Kolton Miller & Brandon Parker) and they still have Donald Penn on their roster.

The Raiders have no plan.

Apparently not because they still have huge holes at WR, RB, TE, LG (now that they traded Osemele), DE, MLB, FS, and CB, yet they spend big on a position they actually have some talent at.

I'm not saying he's the WR I like best, but I'd kind of love to see what Freddie cooked up if we signed Cordarrelle Patterson.

We'll definitely sign/trade for a TE soon IMO
