C.J. MOSLEY
LB, UNSIGNED FREE AGENT

NBC Sports Bay Area's Matt Maiocco reports the 49ers will pursue the top linebackers on the market.

2018 third-rounder Fred Warner played well last season, the 49ers still need to add some help. C.J. Mosley is the top linebacker available and should be the 49ers' top target, but Maiocco reports San Francisco is also interested in Anthony Barr and Kwon Alexander.

Raiders spending some mula

"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Cooper is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Moore is flanked out wide to the right. Chubb and Ford are split in the backfield as Watson takes the snap ... Here we go."

Did they sign Brown all ready like Schefter said or do they have to wait til Wednesday? ..

If they can sign him today, why can he sign today as opposed to others? ..

TYRANN MATHIEU
DB, HOUSTON TEXANS
MMQB's Albert Breer reports the Texans have offered free agent S Tyrann Mathieu more than $9.5 million per year on a new contract.

It is top-five safety money, but Mathieu still wants to see what is available on the market. Given how many quality safeties will join Mathieu in free agency, he might not like what he finds. That said, Jason La Canfora reports the Bucs and Ravens have "serious interest" in Mathieu.

Btw------------why do we have two free agency threads? I prefer keeping all the news about a specific topic on one thread.

I started this thread because the other one has a ton of posts and I thought it would a good idea to start fresh when the free agency period opened.

I'd always try to avoid signing players the first day or two .. the initial money is insane

Wonder if we take a look at Gresham at TE (his blocking has always been legit) I know he's kind of long in the tooth though...then again he's probably comparable to Fells this late in his career.

I always get Zach Brown and Bruce Carter confused...I believe Zach Brown has only thrived in 3-4's, and was mediocre at best in 4-3's...I remember something around that.

FWIW

C.J. MOSLEY
LB, UNSIGNED FREE AGENT

The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports the Browns are interested in free agent C.J. Mosley.

The Ravens want to keep Mosley but are now facing known competition from Cleveland, Washington and the Jets. More teams are surely interested. Mosley is going to fetch a colossal sum after Kwon Alexander brought home $13.5 million per season from the 49ers.

C.J. Mosley would be a great pickup not only because he may the best LB in the NFL but it would also hurt the team that stole my team!!!!
