I thought Landon Collins was a "Box" Safety? (Ya know, like TJ Ward.) $45M guaranteed is lot for that, IMO.

My bet is that this will be the most guarantees of the off-season. Back with Patricia.

You know it is rough when the stoopid money makes a huge franchise tag figure look like an astounding bargain. That might be the case here.

Dorsey has a feel for value. Certainly CJ could help us quite a bit.

We need to do the same to the Ravens and sign C.J. Mosley

I don't really want Mosley. I think he is rather overrated.

I don't think hes overrated, but I don't think I want to pay him what hes going to get. The numbers we are seeing are cray cray so far in FA.

No thank you ma'am/sir. I don't want this franchise to get its hands tied behind its back because of a FA that's not worth the contract they get.

I am 100% down with Mosely. I have been saying that Schobert is a situational player.


With that said, if Kwon Alexander got 54m, you can expect Mosely to get around 70m. It's not my money, I don't really care, we have been top 3 in cap in the league for like a decade.

I'm of the mind that we will sign solid free agents to fill holes & roles, but when we're looking for stars and super stars, we'll draft them.

I was ok with looking at OBJ for a trade - but IDK if I wanna get into this type of money. It hasn't worked out but a handful of times in the league (being successful using FA to build your team)

The Rams just went to a super bowl and a team built in FA. Get good young talent cheap, and build around them.

The majority of their core players are home grown, drafted talent.

Lions agreed to terms with DE Trey Flowers, formerly of the Patriots, on a five-year contract.

Per ESPN's Adam Schefter, the deal will be worth $16-$17 million per season. That is exactly what Flowers' value was pegged at before free agency. The best defensive end available after the top of the class was taken off the board via a wave of franchise tags, Flowers will be reuniting with ex-Patriots DC Matt Patricia. Flowers had what was then the best season of his career under Patricia in 2017 before arguably topping it in 2018. The Lions, who are letting Ezekiel Ansah walk, had an anemic pass rush last year, so Flowers fills a huge need.

Lions agreed to terms with CB Justin Coleman, formerly of the Seahawks, on a four-year, $36 million contract.

As NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reported, the deal makes the ex-Patriots castoff the highest-paid nickel cornerback in the league. Coleman is reuniting with ex-Pats DC Matt Patricia after a productive two-year sojourn in Seattle. The deal certainly feels like an overpay. Rather than give a slot corner $36 million, Patricia's mentor Bill Belichick would simply groom a new one. Regardless, it fills a need on a Lions defense that wasn't good enough in 2018. Coleman is replacing Nevin Lawson, who was cut on Tuesday.

Why would you spend 60+ million for a guy that plays Safety to move him to a new position?

Because he's basically a linebacker already. He is a better version of Jabrill Peppers.

Jabrill Peppers is better in coverage than Collins ...

Frank Gore is fourth all time in rushing yards. He's 521 yards behind Barry Sanders. He had 722 yards last year for the Dolphins. He'll be 36 years old for the 2019 season.

This sets the bar for the Tyrell Williams contract.

Very unheralded back...He has really lasted a long time, kudos to him.

Don't disagree with you often, but reports are CJ is asking 16 million per year. Sorry he isn't worth near that....not in today's game. He really struggles in coverage, and two down LBs aren't worth 16 million a year.

I get that I will be in the minority here (probably of 1...lol) but I want nothing to do with him making that kind of scratch.

I don't think Dorsey is going to throw crazy money at so-called superstar players.

I do hope he signs the WR from the Chargers though.
