I am not a fan. He's too old and I think he is way into the twilight of his career. With a dynamite front 7 maybe he can be good - but I'd look at a lot of other options before Berry.
The more things change the more they stay the same.

Low risk. Sign a one year deal. Be ok w that.
How does a league celebrating its 100th season only recognize the 53 most recent championships?

Yeah, I think it depends on the money it would take to get him, and where we are on Kindred. Eric Berry can't be counted on to be our SS savior, and he shouldn't be paid that way either.
There is no level of sucking we haven't seen; in fact, I'm pretty sure we hold the patents on a few levels of sucking NOBODY had seen until the past few years.

If he's healthy, absolutely, take a chance, but an achilles tear is a tough one because you never know if it will go again or if the other one will blow, and he's had that issue with his heel that kept him out almost all last season. Having said that, the dude is great as a leader and a player so if he's fully recovered by all means, sign the man.

3 games played in the past 2 seasons combined.

He's 30, healthy and skilled. And at least on paper, we do have a pretty darn good front 7. I think I'd like him for a year and see how it goes.

His medical status will be checked thoroughly.
He was cut because of his salary and the past injuries. He has not played much because of achilles and then a bone spur that was attached to his achilles.
Dorsey knows him very well. Berry is a great player. Not good - great. He is thirty and has been idle. He may be healthy.
Love to get him if he is ready to play.

Solid move. Bring him in for a physical and a workout; if he looks good, give him a one or two year deal with enough of a signing bonus to be good for him, but make most of the money a roster bonus due the day after the cutdown to 53. Let him come into camp and show he's still got it and can be a contributor. He's a long-time veteran player who has some history with Dorsey, which is why I'd give him a bit of a signing bonus.... but, all of that is provided he passes the physicals and still moves well in workout.

Yeah, the issue is that bone spur. I don't think he had surgery on it, so I believe it could reoccur, or he may elect to have the surgery which would take him out for a while. We'll have to wait on the medical report. But if he's healthy, I'd love to have him.

I was under the impression he has some sort of bone spur he's still dealing with. Whether or not it's something that will be resolved before the season, I don't know.

Like I said. He will be checked out thoroughly.
The bone spur has been there since last year so it is well known. The treatment has been done so it should be known if he can play.

March 15, 2019 10:38 am Eric Berry: Hopeful for 2019 by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire
Berry (heel) was told he should be able to play in 2019 with the ankle condition that sidelined him last year, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports.
Berry visited a renowned foot and ankle specialist, Dr. Robert Anderson, in Green Bay after the season. After a thorough examination, the defensive back was told he will not require surgery and this vague injury should be something he can play through. Garafolo noted that the new treatment plan Anderson devised is supposed to maintain Berry's condition better than last season, when the three-time Pro-Bowler appeared in just two games while constantly being listed as "day-to-day" on the injury report. When he can show teams he's on the right track, Berry is expected to garner "significant immediate interest" on the open market.

I don't really see us signing anymore free agents this year for more than like 1-2M.

Guy had a very promising career and alot of bad luck. Good things are happening and luck is changing. Maybe we hit on this if he's healthy and the price is right.

I don't really see us signing anymore free agents this year for more than like 1-2M. Why do you think that? Currently, our top 51 salary cap number is $187M. The 2019 salary cap is $188M. Now, we carried over $56M in roll-over salary cap space, so that gives us a nice buffer. However, we are eating roughly $18M in dead money this year, mainly from the Zietler and Peppers trade. So, we have roughly 38M in cap space. But, I don't think (and Dorsey probably doesn't think) that it is a good idea to go over that $188M in salary owed to players currently on the roster. That would set us up very poorly to sign Baker and Garrett in the future. We still have to sign our draft picks too. Looking at the numbers, I wouldn't be surprised at all if we cut TJ Carrie, Ricardo Louis, and Devalve after June 1st to save some money. You heard it here first. Sportrac Edit: Actually, looking at Carrie's numbers, we would have to cut him today. His 2019 salary is fully guaranteed if we don't cut him today. Something to keep an eye on. If we do cut him, we save 6M on the cap this year.

He played last year on a 1 year deal, so he was a FA at the end of the season and he's currently unsigned according to Spotrac.

Boston maybe

Also, just for some adult veteran leadership. Don't want the locker room to turn into Crazyland. Unless we win a bunch. Dorsey sniffs out value. It is worth a look and verify one-year contract in my opinion.

U can get a stud safety in the 2nd Heck yes. Eric Weddle, Nick Collins, Jairus Byrd, T.J. Ward, Patrick Chung, Landon Collins, D.J. Swearinger, Johnathan Cyprien, LaMarcus Joyner, and Budda Baker were all taken in the second round since 1999.

j/c, imo if Berry was part of the plans, then he would be a Brown already.
We are probably done with FA signings ... until after the Draft.

I think they could have been waiting on medical reports etc. Also, no telling what Berry is asking for but you may be right because if there is anyone whom would know Berry's medical condition and what he has left in the tank it would be Dorsey.

He isn't worse than Below Average...
He's a tough kid but he took very bad angles when he played. Mostly as a rookie so possibly he has progressed. He is on the team. Regardless we got to carry 4 Safeties.
Kindred and Randall
Who else: we did tag Whitehead possibly we like him there but thought he was being tagged for ST.
3 SS types that I don't have a clue on but quite frankly might be able to beat out Kindred or at least rotate to keep fresh.
I'm curious on this kid Who I think was on our IR list last year after we stole him from the Colts Practice Squad.
Robert Jackson from UNLV had a reputation in college as a hard hitter. Played a lot at Corner in college so one can ASSume that he has some cover skills.
He has good size at 6'2" 207 4.44 speed with 38.5 vertical leap. I think this kid is a sleeper on our team and nobody knows it. You heard it here first
Another unkonwn on our roster is Tige Sankoh 5'11" 214.
But I'm real curious on the kid Robert Jackson who knows he might be a Cover Corner?
Done or not for FA - it would be nice to see an experienced Safety on our roster besides Randall.
jmho
