Disgusting. At least dad got some jail time....usually the game wardens work their asses off to bust these poachers, and they're let off with low fines and suspended sentences when they go to court.

There was a time in my life when I tried to make sense of stuff like this:

Is it a mental health issue?
Is it cultural?
Is it twisted family values?
Substance abuse?

Now, I'm thoroughly convinced that all those factors are at work on people all the time...

There is a place in this world for people like this.
The place I'm envisioning is 6ft wide and 8ft long.
And I want them to stay there until they are too old and feeble to do more harm to this world. And then, (in a very short period of time) find them a new place: 3ft wide and 6ft deep.

Can we just round them all up, and jettison them into space? Without an oxygen supply?

I feel as though my holy (small 'h') spirit is under daily assault by forces I can't control as it is. I refuse to invite this in, since I have a choice.

I watched it and I am sorry I did. It' eating at me. What the f...? I was thinking of sending it to my family to show them the injustice, but they would get too upset.

I mean........we have to know that there are those kind of people out there, but I also want to protect my family from seeing stuff like that.

sometimes its better to just watch, cause some people wont believe people like that are out there unless they see it first hand.

the only reasoning i can come up with is that those two didn't think they would be caught. im sure they had no idea a camera was set up there.

its one thing to be a poacher, which i still hate those people with passion. its another to shoot and kill a hibernating bear and her cubs.

just so everyone is clear, there's plenty of poaching going on around the world that i notice but don't post because there's nothing we can do about it. but this one is right here in our own country.

Things like this are disgusting to watch. Yet if anyone has any doubts about the depths of hell someone can sink to, it's living proof.

I can almost excuse poaching if someone needs to feed their family or something drastic like that, but these sick jackwagons did it for pure enjoyment and celebrated the act.

I certainly agree. Before my back surgery I was an avid hunter. Never poached and always did it legally. But I never killed game that I wasn't going to eat.

IMO even when killing legally, just killing for the sport of something, like big game hunting, for that "trophy on the wall", is a sickness. A feeling that the life of something else is worth less than your own foolish pride.

I've read a lot of the responses so I don't feel I need to. I can say, with absolute certainty, that the world would be a better place with the bears in it and those guys.... not.

Papa bears don't do that.

I have no problem with hunters that hunt for food. I have no problem with the killing of a predator to protect people or livestock. These two should be dropped in the wilderness near a pack of wolves to see how real hunters do it.

Google bear attacks and then try again.

I hunted in my younger years. I have no problem with harvesting animals.

This wasn't hunting, though the killing of the cubs didn't add anything....it was probably the right thing to do. It made it a quick death, and Eric was right, Mama was hiding the cubs from Daddy bear, he would have killed them pretty quick after killing Mama trying to defend them.

Male bears are more likely to kill their offspring than protect them.

They are also known to kill humans. Which was my point. Those dumbasses should have run into papa bear.

OK. That was not my point. As for the males, let's take the grizzly.

If you shoot a male grizzly in the heart, you will have a ticked off bear for about 25 minutes. If you get both lungs, 5 minutes. If you shoot it in the head, unless you are lucky enough to put a round through its eye socket and into its brain, the round will bounce off its skull. Shoot it anywhere else, ticked off bear.

You are a bear expert. Congrats.

I am a human expert. Shooting those three bears was an absolute act of cowardice and a despicable act.
