we clearly have some sort of plan, but I agree it wasn't expected IMO

"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Cooper is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Moore is flanked out wide to the right. Chubb and Ford are split in the backfield as Watson takes the snap ... Here we go."

hope so, because I don't like our plan on being spending every dollar we have in FA/trades. We need to keep our players here.

Kindred, at the VERY LEAST can provide good depth at a spot we are very thin at.

If they are not Dorsey's players, he isn't going to keep them sans Garrett. I think it's been rather evident so far.

I get that, but I still don't like it. He was at least serviceable.

There is no level of sucking we haven't seen; in fact, I'm pretty sure we hold the patents on a few levels of sucking NOBODY had seen until the past few years.

I'm guessing that we are going to sign either Boston or Berry.

I think a guy that can play in the league at safety, and fill in as a starter for 2 million bucks is the type of guy you want to keep around. Especially when you don't have a starter at that position currently.

I trust Dorsey, but this is a questionable move. He is not beyond reproach or criticism. He has made errors (albeit very very very few), and I believe and feel this is one.

I mean, if anything.....he was in the last year of his contract. Let him walk in 2020 and possibly get a compensatory pick if a team grabs him.

Eric Berry or our S in the 2nd round?

I have to think the draft because I just don't trust EB to be healthy or stay healthy. Hes played what 4 games in two years? I cant get behind that because of that fact.

And when does Dorsey sign guys 30 and up? They have all been right at 28 or max 29 years old, if memory recalls correctly.

Unless Dorse has a guy in the 2nd he if confidant will be there, but how can you rely on that?

I think that the Cowboys would have signed Berry if he had been healthy.

I'm sure Dorsey has a plan afoot. As fans we don't see it yet and it would be more comforting to most if we got the guys and then cut Kindred. Which still might be the plan if we didn't cut Kindred yet.

Personally I don't care about the order of things just as long as we got a better UNIT going into training camp than what we did have.

i agree. if we sign Berry, i hope we still draft a S in the 2nd or 3rd round.

can't trust his health. he's gone through a lot of adversity and all and i respect that.

but we're trying to win games, and he's been oft injured with tons of other physical issues.

I think a FA defintely, and probably one from the draft. If solely relying on replacing in the draft then we probably don't release him until after the draft, to make sure we got a replacement.

JC...

I have to believe that Kindred was offered up as a trade option before being released and there were "no takers". As for Kindred's value, releasing him does not appear to be an unexpected move, imo.

So at both safety spots we have Randall and that's it lol, so we are going to need 3 safeties now.

Both SS are gone (Peppers and Kindred) Randall's backup at FS is gone as well (BBC)

Kindred is about a league average starter. I am surprised we are cutting him but there is a 100% chance we bring in another safety before games start.

Also, let's not act like the Browns pass defense was a talented unit to build upon...they ranked 25th in the NFL in pass defense.

New coach, new defensive scheme...changes should be expected when the new coach inherits the 25th ranked pass defense.

Apparently Dorsey feels there are better options than Kindred.

Not going to second guess him.

Somebody else will be coming and we will find out who that is.

And you can still get that better option, keep Kindred as depth, and possibly get a comp pick when he leaves next year.

Burnett would be worse to have than Boston IMO

He said he needed "real players" and now he's going out and getting them. So many posters agree how easy it is to get a SS yet complain when we get rid of someone who isn't a very good one. The purge continues as the roster strengthens.

Your SS has to be versatile enough to be able not to be a total weakness in coverage. That's never been a description of Kindred.

Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

Kindreds way over rated around these here parts ...

As of now it makes no sense ... i’m sure it will soon ... KJ has a plan ... i’ll wait til it unfolds before I say it was a bad move ...

He will hardly be missed if he’s missed at all .. he’s not going to be that hard to replace ...

Well I know its hindsight...but look how well Nassib played for TB after Dorsey cut him...everyone on that squad gushes about him, he was playing lights out ball...Could have actually had great depth, but for some reason he wasn't a Dorsey guy and his 800k salary had to go.

I know all of our coaches always do that (well league wide mainly) but it seems like we let go more of our players than the norm...and mind you I'm not talking about our lousy players, just our solid ones.

And I don't want nothing of Burnett, that guy is burnt out and was horrid for Pittsburgh last year.

I don't think a lot of think Kindred is really great by any means...But he provided depth and a spot starter at SS (man was he bad when we had him sliding over WRs last year) had we already signed say Tre Boston and another safety...Not a lot would say too much h about Kindred, However here is the ordeal we always make...Getting rid of someone when you have no viable option to take their place, right as where we stand....we always do that.

Now don't get me wrong, someone might snag one of Dorseys safeties hes looking at in FA...then wed be in a deeper jam, and forced to reach more on the draft to fill the voids, plus all the additional voids we currently have.

Let's hope something positive happens, because our safety spots only have Randall-and nothing at all beside him or behind him.

I won't hold it against him. I can't hold it against him. Seems like owners and the front office get a pass on how they do business, but players never get that same respect.
