Just got home from St.E's. 9 days in the ICU,an 18"scar,sterility and a hanful of Oxycodone. Went in on the 8th to have 2 AAA's repaired, while this amazing surgeon was slicing and dicing,a 3rd one was discovered a little south of the abdomen, and since I was already filleted,he repaired that one at no cost to me,well except for the sterility. Prognosis is for a complete recovery. To the point;my nephews and I began planning my wake a few days ago. When the topic of what music to play came up,thier recomondations were all things that I liked and I told them no.This wake will be my last opportunity to piss off a lagre gathering of people and the music should reflect that.i told them there is a huge treasure chest of crappy music on dawgtalkers, and they wouldn't have to dig too deep to find a handful. So,thanks to all you posters for helping me fulfill my last wish

Back when I was going into surgery, I prepped my friends the same way. Play RHCP during the wake and during my eulogy, embellish my accomplishments for the sake of humor. As in, say I've climbed Mount Everest 12 times and once punched Bill Murray in the face over a $5 bet. Luckily for me and them, they didn't have to do that last year.
Glad you're still here.
“...Iguodala to Curry, back to Iguodala, up for the layup! Oh! Blocked by James! LeBron James with the rejection!”
As Pit said, I'm glad it wasn't your final request.
I'm glad you're doing better.
Micah 6:8; He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God.
John 14:19 Jesus said: Because I live, you also will live.
Luckily I didn't see the Holy Cow this trip, although I did paas a Hobit and either a Pink Elephant or the biggest nurse I've ever seen. I like St.E,it's a good Hosp.and the place where generations of males in my family go to die. I've lost touch with my faith but I believe it's called penitence.
"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Cooper is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Moore is flanked out wide to the right. Chubb and Ford are split in the backfield as Watson takes the snap ... Here we go."
I'm glad everyone's okay. Funeral Songs? Y'all are a gruesome bunch this morning.
Here's the one I want used at my funeral .... if there is one.

If they play that song you have to get up out of the casket and run around like Benny
That would be really interesting, since there will be an urn, if anything.

Talking music smack huh? Haven’t see you post on the music threads. Let’s see what your choice of music is then we can all judge you judging our crappy tastes.
I lost my stepdad to an AAA in October. Glad to hear you’re on the mend from the surgery. For those not in the know, it’s an incredibly complicated, difficult, highly invasive, and lengthy surgery. Many folks don’t fully recover back to their previous baseline. Good health to you. Hope you have a long life beyond this hurdle.
Thanks everyone for the well wishes. Portland you've restored my hope life is boring when you're talking smack and no one knows it.My musical tastes are splattered all over these broads,in fact you responded to my Sick Bed of Cuchulainn post.Negatively, but you received points for knowing The Pogues.

Oh. I remember now. You’re a ‘3 chords and no real talent’ kind of guy. You like bands that use the clever ploy of utilizing heavy distortion and bad vocals to cover for the lack of actual musicianship.

The KISS and AC/DC crowd.
Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.
It sounds like a song that didn’t make The Rocky Horror Picture Show soundtrack. I have friends that are KISS fans yet none of them ever play KISS albums in their homes or cars. They openly admit they don’t... most of them admit it’s because the band isn’t very good. LOL KISS is like WWE for music. If you liked it as a kid you’ll likely watch as an adult. Me? I can’t figure out the allure of either.

35,384,640 tickets sold 417,600 hours of live performances 36,086 songs 2317 concerts 30 years 11 members 1 band
Going off Wiki, because I was curious, KISS has had 2465 career dates. (if I added right)
The rest I can't find with a quick search.

Been touring for 45 years 2212 concerts over 100 million records sold
Other than that I can't find anything to compare.
Yes, and people still sing "99 Bottles of Beer On The Wall" on long road trips, but that doesn't mean its good. Me, I hope they have a polka band playing "Smoke On The Water" at my funeral, because if you think Richie Blackmore kicked the schnikees out that 3-note opening for Deep Purple's version, you should hear it on accordion. I was at a wedding once where that's exactly what happened. I lost it when an old lady yelled "Play it, Lou, play it!".

I figured out how to make this really cool.
I will have my ashes at my funeral, and my will will be tied to the tail of a rabid squirrel, with the Benny Hill theme playing.

I guess you pass out by the time they hit 85 bottles DAMN ROOKIE
BTW I love Smoke on the water. It's the first song I learned to play on the piano and organ
