Lots of guys who I thought would go round 1, are still available.
Never would have thought that more safeties would be drafted in the 1st round than corners. Only 1 corner (of course hes from UGA) taken in the first. Crazy.

I loved Baker, and thought that was the best pick the Giants made (even though he was the last of their 1st round picks lol) Definitely an odd draft...Good news is I'm sure someone will be trading up for Drew Lock...and hopefully an immense talent can fall to us (seems like we should have a very strong chance of having someone fall into our lap)

http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000001...pects-remainingNasir Adderley, C. G-Johnson, Byron Murphy, Greedy Williams, Juan Thornhill, Amani Hooker in the secondary Cody Ford was mocked in many placed to be a round 1 pick. I hope we can distill some of the picks we have into 2 or 3 quality selections. There's a lot of talent left on the board. Getting a later 2nd rounder and two 3rd round picks would be ample.

12 players to watch during Day 2 of the 2019 NFL Draft Nick Shook STAFF WRITER https://www.clevelandbrowns.com/news/10-...medium=referral The dust from the initial chaos has settled. We've reached Day 2 of the NFL draft. Thirty-two players are off the board, but plenty of quality prospects remain for the Browns, who select at No. 49. Here are 12 players to keep an eye on as the second round begins Friday. CB Byron Murphy, Washington Murphy is my favorite corner in the draft for many of the same reasons Denzel Ward was my favorite in last year's draft: He's a natural cover corner. He has loose, oily hips, plays bigger than his listed size, has an innate nose for the ball and is a playmaker. It wouldn't take Browns fans long to fall in love with Murphy, especially lined up opposite Ward. CB Greedy Williams, LSU Williams saw a late slide after being projected early as possibly the first cornerback to be selected in the draft. That position wasn't chosen until the 30th pick, so it's not a knock on Williams, who brings a natural athleticism to the position and owns the height (6-foot-2) to make plays on larger receivers. He'd be a nice complement to Ward and would be great value for the Browns at No. 49. T Jawaan Taylor, Florida Taylor was projected as a top-15 player for almost the entire pre-draft process. His slide into Round 2 raises an eyebrow (knee issues could be the reason), but for a team that has its starting left tackle on a one-year contract and not much of a contingency plan behind him, Taylor would be a sensible pick if his health checks out. S Taylor Rapp, Washington Rapp landed in Cleveland in Browns senior media broadcaster Nathan Zegura's final mock draft, and he'd fit into the Browns' secondary nicely. He's another defensive back who hits above his weight and can play in and out of the box, despite only weighing 208 pounds. He's not afraid to come downhill and hit and would stand as instant competition for Morgan Burnett with a bright future. TE Irv Smith, Alabama Smith one-upped former first-round pick O.J. Howard by catching 44 passes for 710 yards and an Alabama record (for tight ends) seven touchdowns in 2018, his first season playing without Howard in Tuscaloosa. His dad has NFL roots, and his blend of athleticism and size fits perfectly with what today's NFL tight ends have become. Evan Engram found himself in the end zone plenty as a rookie in New York with a similar skill set, though Smith is bigger. He has all the physical tools and natural ability to become a very productive tight end, and if the Browns take him, he'll play for the same team his dad played for way back in 1999. T Dalton Risner, Kansas State Risner has a future in politics if football doesn't work out. He's a charismatic, charming person who also happens to be a very reliable and effective offensive lineman. NFL.com's Lance Zierlein says Risner's pro comparison is Cody Whitehair, a player who is the lynchpin of one of the NFL's better, more cohesive lines in Chicago. That also gives a peek at potential versatility for Risner, who would begin as a tackle but transition inside if needed. WR J.J. Arcega-Whiteside, Stanford This name and position might surprise some folks, but while the Browns have an extremely exciting receiving corps, they don't have the tallest bunch of targets there. At 6-foot-3, Arcega-Whiteside would add height to the group, and also a fantastic red-zone target. He was a machine inside the 20 at Stanford, winning jump ball battles and coming down with back-shoulder fades and throws to the corner pylon. When the Cardinal got inside the 20, it was reasonable to guess the ball was going to Arcega-Whiteside. With Odell Beckham and Jarvis Landry out there, he'd likely get plenty of one-on-ones to win, too.

Snagging Murphy at CB would be awesome, though I doubt he makes it past pick 35
"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Cooper is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Moore is flanked out wide to the right. Chubb and Ford are split in the backfield as Watson takes the snap ... Here we go."

Only one corner going in the first round played perfectly into our needs.

Adderly is intriguing as well

Only one CB went in first round this year. Browns GM John Dorsey said: “If you talk to a lot of people around the league, if you talked about the cornerbacks and how they had the cornerbacks rated, I bet you would have 20 different stackings at the cornerback position this year.” https://twitter.com/AdamSchefter/status/1121792239355645954

Unless Dorsey shocks us, there are some good tackles and corners on the board.

Couple of "What I'm Hearing" notes: * Run on WR is expected early tonight * Cody Ford & Jawaan Taylor expected to be in today's top 10 picks * Byron Murphy will go early, maybe at 33 even * Colts could trade back AGAIN and keep playing the board https://twitter.com/nfldraftscout/status/1121795115700215808

I know in a draft thread way back...I mentioned that I would love to get Ford at 49 and I was quickly spanked on that unrealistic WANT...I actually agreed as the Big Board of the site I like to use also stated he was #18 on the overall board...Well here it is and its pick #33.
He is still available.
I would love for us to move up and get him.
He would be an upgrade on Zeitler, I see Corbett as a possible upgrade on Tretter.
I see Bitonio, Corbett and Ford as becoming one of the youngest best Interio OL in the NFL. Mobile also for a stretching offense of the likes we are building.
We got the QB, WRs, RBs TEs...Build the OL to take it to another LEVEL!!!

I would be tempted to trade our 3rd round pick, future 2nd round pick and 3rd, to get one of the players we covet early on. Then keep 49 and see who else falls a little and if its a jump of a few spots, use the remaining picks to try and make it happen. Getting 2 players in the next 17 picks would be huge IMHO.
If we walk away with just 3-4 drafted players I'm fine with that. Quality over quantity now.

There is almost no chance another GM is going to see the Browns right there with pick #49 and let the Browns keep it in a trade up scenario. So to pick in the top 16 picks of Round 2, and keep pick 17 of round 2, by a trade made after this point in the occurring draft is almost historically impossible.

With the amount of Press man we played last season, which I would think we will continue, Greedy Williams should be someone we keep an eye on.

Poor athlete that was in Juco last season and transferred to Temple. No thank you.

Reminder:
No veteran players were traded yesterday. Veterans usually aren’t traded during the draft. Those hoping for a few extra picks or a move up because of a veteran being traded are misguided.

Others disagree with your assessment:
Ya-Sin played one year for Temple after transferring from Presbyterian College and he quickly became one of the nation's best cornerbacks. Physical and fast, Ya-Sin excels in man coverage, has fantastic ball skills, and is solid in run support. His footwork can be sloppy at times but his athleticism often made up for it in college.

The numbers don't lie.
Athleticism at TEMPLE, playing bums. Again this is about projecting. Any prospect should look athletic in college.
4.51 40 and the 2nd worst 3 cone in the entire field.

No love for Mack Wilson? Odd...I've seen several plays when I only think a DB could make such an athletic play, and Mack Wilson is doing it...I know he's rawer than some think and is inconsistent...I pray we can land him, and kind of glad people are under on him.

We will play a lot more zone coverage this season. Murphy is probably not an option for 49, but Lane or Love could be good fits for us too ... or we might go OL, Safety or perhaps another position.

I don’t think Layne fits a zone scheme in the same way Williams may not but I think Williams has the fluidity to do so if he wanted to. Love would be a good fit.
