--Clelin Ferrel to the Raiders, with Josh Allen still on the board.
--Daniel Jones @6 yikes!
--Tytus Howard over Jawaan Taylor ... Questionable to say the least.
--The Falcons selecting a good OG over some good OTs' ... That too is odd.
--The Raiders again, picking a SS in Jonathan Abrams in the first round. I think that thus far, I would have to say that Mike Mayock was a better talking head than he is a GM. Even the Josh Jacobs pick was a reach, because I don't think that he goes later in the 1st round to another team.
Seems to me that many 2nd round prospects found their way into the 1st.
The good news of the night was, that only one CB going in the first round is setting us up for a good prospect from that position. I don't think the Falcons pick odd. I think more and more teams are feeling that a solid 3 in the middle is more important than on the edges, especially if your QB is good at stepping up in to the pocket. A step or two up totally wrecks a DE's angle unless the OT gets beat inside. The question is was he the 14th best player in the Draft? I just thought that he was a reach for a need.

That was the worst draft class ever. I don't think this one is that bad. I think it's strong on the DL and in the secondary. There are some good LBers, as well. It's probably stronger than usual on OL prospects. This draft has really good TE depth, as well. Someone earlier knocked the Lions taking Hockenson. Man, I love that pick for them. With him and James at TE, they will be able to attack down the seams of the defense, and both Hockenson and James can block effectively. I think he'll become a huge part of their offense, and Staffprd will love having him available to throw to. .

My favorite tweet of the evening, which I can't find to post the actual tweet, was: The Giants drafted the guy you would hire to play Eli Manning in a movie about Peyton Manning. LOL............I was thinking along similar lines when I watched him walking up to meet the commish last night.

I don't know. They don't know what Eli is going to do. He may know he isn't going to sign Eli past this season. He would sound like a idiot if he said that. You wouldn't want to treat Eli that way and put him in a lame duck situation.

Raiders targeted players that they wanted, in a weak draft like this IS THERE ANY WRONG DOING??? All they know is coming out of the draft first round they got 3 guys that they were targeting. Making a team not a KIPER draft book.
As for DBs nobody was better than Mayock, nobody! So that kid at Safety is probably a stud.

I will just remind people that the experts thought that we reached badly for Baker and Ward last year ..........

Clelin Ferrel is not even in the same zipcode as Allen. A good player, but not a top 5 talent in this Draft.

Baker was the #1 QB on more people's board than many are suggesting. Maybe 20% ? Maybe more than that based on comments about other teams immediately after last year's draft. He was also PFF top QB in the draft last year.
The more things change the more they stay the same.

90% of this draft was a big time reach...lol
I'm telling you our timing is amazing, best draft to not have a first round pick...lol
Well actually we picked our first round pick already in OBJ, pretty good pick don't ya think?
Oh and just who is Daniel Jones... lol I rest my case.
lol

I get that the Cards wanted Murray, but why wait until the night of the draft to start talking to teams about Rosen? Cardinals didn't shop Josh Rosen until right before draft, and the price was steep Nobody was going to give up a first for Rosen. If he still had that kind of value, they wouldn't have needed Murray. And now that this first round is over, nobody is trading a 2020 first for him. Soooooo, what are they doing? Unless they lower their asking price, which would make them look even more foolish, then they're keeping Rosen for another year to sit behind Murray and lower his value even further? Wow. No idea what their plan is right now. As for the Giants, yeah, if you think Eli has 3 more years in him, why draft a QB at #6 when you could get players to surround Eli? I'm not saying Jones is trash, but even if you knew you were drafting a younger cloned version of Eli, why pick a player that will sit on your bench if you think your QB still has years in him?

jmho I found one comment interesting last night about the way these things get influenced.. If Mayock was still doing commentary and had gotten on the Ferrell bandwagon and promoted him with a top 10 or even top 5 grade, others would have followed.. because that's what they do... then drafting him in the top 5 wouldn't have seemed so absurd.. But Mayock was working for the Raiders, so of course he wasn't out pimping the kid that he knew he wanted... and nobody else got on his bandwagon... that's why it seems like an odd pick. I guess now we will see.

It was a great point by Rich Eisen. I sort of fell into the same trap last year, when everyone kept talking up Darnold as the best pick in the draft. I even remember starting a thread about how Darnold just looked off to me, and I couldn't put my finger on it. Yet by the time the draft rolled around, I was all-aboard the Darnold train because the talking heads were all telling us he was the #1 QB. When we announced Baker as the pick, my immediate reaction was actually disappointment. Even though, deep down I probably preferred taking Baker over Darnold through my own personal observations.

I think NYG would have been better off trading their 2nd round pick for Rosen, then drafting the QB they did. No way Rosen is w AZ when camp opens. Can't run the risk of Rosen looking better than Murray.

I thought Christian Wilkins nearly body slamming the Commish was odd, yet still the most exciting part of the draft.

To me the comment from Rich Eisen was just a CYA comment to make his former co-worker and friend not look stupid.
Gettleman looked stupid and watching the Raiders picks made it obvious why TV draft gurus aren't hired into NFL FO's.
Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

At this point, I hope they find no suitors and end up cutting him because nobody will give up what the Cards want. That's what they get for trying to be cute.

I hope our defensive secondary will slobber over the chance to see the Rats. A defense that can get itself off the field and protect a lead late would be welcome. Some defenses score, all but forgotten in the land. This group could be a meat grinder if they can play healthy.
One day to go for draft and we are still undefeated.

It is Odd that seems like, TV producers are ruining the process,
I just wathed a guy get drafted, who before one game highlight, I had to hear about his mother, his cousins, and all kinds of other family, feel good scenario stuff.
Plus, some "put together" play acting about the horrible shootout at the OK coralle from 150 years ago.
Just because it's finaly on TV, doesn't mean you have to ruin it with nonsense.
( You'll find these kinds at your workplace, orgainizning pie eating contests, and 300 people to sign a birthday card,) It's not what the purpose is therefor. Get to the task! Get it done! move on!
Pick! Highlights! information-n-reaction! Next pick.
all the rest is odd.
Odd that TV producers give in to the "daytime" crowd. ON a "football" show.

Or how about that WEIRD skit with Arizona's pick
"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Cooper is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Moore is flanked out wide to the right. Chubb and Ford are split in the backfield as Watson takes the snap ... Here we go."

Passing on Darnold to draft Jones... abysmal.
This reminds me of the Vikings Christain Ponder pick.
Drafting a RB @ #2. Trading away one of the league's best WRs.
This cat has no plan whatsoever and is blindly throwing darts... If the Giants make the playoffs it'll be a miracle.
If the Giants don't have the #1 pick next year it will be a miracle. LOL
After 55 years, I'm walking away from this dumpster fire. Good luck to everyone who continues to hang on. You'll need it.

I think the Giants will be better than you think. OL will be much improved with addition of Zeitler. Skill players: Tate, Shepherd, Engram, and Barkley. The D should be improved with additions of: Peppers, Lawrence, Baker, Ximines, and Love.
Jones sits for a year and takes over next year.
