I thought Cleveland got a potential steal in Williams. hopefully hes turns out better than that CB from OSU they drafted whos out of the league.hes proof alone you cant get high on a draft pick cause you never know what can turn out. everyone was praising Farmer for that pick. both are out of the NFL now.
Wilson comes from a long line of talent Bama LBers..just look around the league. he could start with a very strong camp.
the LB from BYU is wait and see.they said hes violent. very few Pacific Islander LBers play up to their hype or DTs for that matter.but overall Dorsey did what he does best. gets real ballers
Cincys draft wasnt glamourous.but I think they got the next Joe Thomas in Williams. I believe he starts day one. then they drafted Michael Jordan from OSU.so Taylor looks to be rebuilding the trenches.
Joe Mixon was the AFC leading rusher behind a garbage oline last year.he should be more dominant this year. I think Rennell Wren is a sleeper pick.unblockable at ASU.
they didnt draft Haskins.but Finely is what Taylor coveted. smart precision passer. if they drafted Haskins then the Bengals would have got questioned for not taking a LT.
Pittsburgh got Devin Bush. he should be able to prosper behind that big stout DL. Dionte Johnson could be a legit #3 and might overtake Moncrief as the #2.
Benny Snell is a typical Steelers RB. hard driving north south ball carrier.
Baltimore will need Hollywood Brown to produce right away..he might struggle vs press coverage. expect him to get doubled alot. adding another RB in the draft Harbaugh is committed to the run
Speaking of which, he left here and went to Pittsburgh?
Then was that it for Gilbert? No other tryouts or anything?
"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Cooper is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Moore is flanked out wide to the right. Chubb and Ford are split in the backfield as Watson takes the snap ... Here we go."
Greedy was going to be gone soon IMO ... we got antsy
Layne is someone I wanted badly too tho, so I'm angry he went to PITT

I just thought he was a solid cover CB ... probably not the upside that Greedy has, but IMO he'll cover adequately and be reliable

I think if the Ravens stick with Jackson and do it right, they'll be ok. I think they have the perfect back-up for him, RG3. RG3 became one of my favorite players and wish he hadn't gotten injured so soon here. I don't like that he's with the Ravens, but I can completely see a scenario where Jackson gets hurt or struggles and RG3 comes in and plays pretty well. I'm worried about that scenario actually.
I'm surprised the Bengals didn't go with Haskins. I wonder how well they can develop Finley into their next QB. I saw some were high on this kid.
Unfortunately, I think the Steelers will be fine when Ben retires and Rudolph steps in. I'm not saying he's Aaron Rodgers, but I can see a similar scenario play out with Ben/Mason that went along with Brett/Aaron.... I hope I'm wrong.
I think it's interesting what the Ravens are doing at QB. It makes sense, from their perspective. They showed last year that they are not afraid to use Lamar Jackson as a runner in a zone-read scheme. So they have RG3 as a backup, and just drafted Trace McSorley in the 6th round (4.57 40 time, 170 carries at Penn State last year).
That's a congruent QB room. If Jackson gets injured or has to come out of the game for whatever reason, next man up and they can run the same scheme. That makes so much more sense than what you often see teams do with a dropback passer as the starter and dual-threat guy as #2 (or vice versa). There are only so many reps in practice, only so much time during the week for installs and such.
I'm actually curious to see how the Browns defense attacks it. I say borrow the Ravens old strategy from several years ago... if the Ravens run a zone-read play, then anytime afterwards when they get in the gun, assign a defender to the QB and have the defender hit the QB on a run no matter what. That's not against the rules and as mentioned above, that was the Ravens old strategy. Very effective.. we'll give you a lane for the running back, but we get to drill your QB. What offensive coordinator is going to take that bet?
I wonder if we draft Layne if Greedy makes it all the way to 83?
I don't think Layne was a target for us at all. Didn't Dorsey say that they were trying to move up earlier than we did? Of course, it could be that we were trying to move up for another CB, but I took it as it was still Greedy we were trying to move up to get even earlier than we did.
Browns is the Browns
... there goes Joe Thomas, the best there ever was in this game.
