During my drinking days, I used to hop over the border to Nogales and drink a beer that was discontinued in the late 80s: "Tres Equis (XXX)" (Dos Equis darker, older brother). Good stuff.
Favorite Los Lobos song: "When the Circus Comes to Town".
"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Jeudy is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Tillman is flanked out wide to the right. Judkins and Ford are split in the backfield as Flacco takes the snap ... Here we go."

In a recent poll on the reason for Cinco de Mayo, out of 5 choices, the real reason finished last.... For American's it might as well be chips and tequila day...
I agree bro. In my younger days I celebrated 7 deys a week. Now I celebrate two days a week while I do laundry, sweep, dust, clean toilets, and anything else on my honey do list
Wait I'm confused. Are we celebrating legal immigrants, illegal immigrants, or just another countries crap in our own country?
If it's number 2 or number 3 then it's bullcrap.
Not saying this to cause any issues, but I used to wonder about that also, then I thought about the Saint Patrick's day celebrations in our predominantly German, French rural county where I live. We also have large Oktoberfest celebrations but that at least makes sense with our heritage.

I wonder how many future congressmen wore a poncho, sombrero and a fake mustache yesterday.
I wonder how many current ones did?
Micah 6:8; He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God.
John 14:19 Jesus said: Because I live, you also will live.
Most Mexicans don't celebrate Cinco de Mayo. It's more of an American holiday today.
I get your point, and that was kind of mine as well. I bet there are a lot of American politicians who are celebrating a "Mexican" holiday as a way to ingratiate themselves to those of Mexican origin. (and probably young people, as well)

Are we now saying that other countries can't have their own holidays?
Who said this?
Agreed.
At Prom walk ins on Saturday, I was surprised.
The announcers, which I was last year, announce the couple, and the car/truck they arrived in. Imagine "Arriving in a 2019 Mercedes is Sr. X with his/her date, Sr./jr/ ........." etc.
However, there were 4 couples where the announcers had to speak Spanish. What???
And people say that racism, prejudice, and bias does not exist in our society. Are we now saying that other countries can't have their own holidays?
Repulsive.
Wow, I didn't read it like that at all. I thought the conversation was more about Americans co-opting a Mexican holiday that they don't understand nor appreciate and just using it as another reason to have a party and get drunk at party with a Mexican theme.
Not going to argue w/you guys. It's right in front of your faces. If you wanna get on me.......so be it.
I don't want to argue about it either. You're obviously free to think whatever you wish. But you end up using a really broad brush when you make a statement like you made without replying to the particular post or poster that prompted it.
