Looks jacked, at least as of last summer. I wish we would have been able to protect him just to see what he would have been
"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Jeudy is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Tillman is flanked out wide to the right. Judkins and Ford are split in the backfield as Flacco takes the snap ... Here we go."
Timid was terrible. Wasn't invested in getting better. Could not read coverages. Very timid in the pocket. The media and many fans loved him, but the dude was terrible.

You know me, we don't disagree...I was trying to be nice.
If everybody had like minds, we would never learn.

You might be timid too, if you got smashed around as much as he was his first couple of years.
I won't dispute your thought on his reading of a D, but I don't think he was terrible.
Like the other poster said, I have some nice memories of Couch.
He held the ball forever. People acted like his OL sucked when it wasn't as bad as most claimed. There were stats about who held the ball the longest and Timid was always at the top. He sucked ass.
Last year, in just under 2.5 quarters last year, a very mobile Tyrod Taylor was sacked 13 times. In just over 54 quarters, Baker Mayfield was sacked 25 times.
In 2007, in a half of football, a mobile Charlie Frye was sacked 5 times in 15 or so pass drop-backs. Derek Anderson was sacked 14 times the other 15.5 games.
Sometimes a QB has to take some responsibility for his own protection, and get the ball out on time. We have seen a ton of guys who could not do this, and only a couple who could.

Yeah he played hurt did a lot for cleveland and in 4 years got us to the playoffs on an expansion team but people say he sucked unreal and disrespectful to him and what he did and went through on a brand new team. Injuries forced him to retire.
Bro, you liked him and said so. Others did the same thing. Some of us didn't like him and said so. Are we not entitled to our opinion?
Yes. You are entitled to your opinions. I hereby declare all of you worthy, and deserved of your own thoughts.
Lol, you gotta chill.
I'm simply debating, arguing back and forth.
That's the problem, some feel their opinion is gospel and speak it as such. No one is allowed to have an opinion that differs from theirs.

I think Couch was a decent Qb, and could have been solid starter in the league if he was killed literally out the gate starting with Pittsburgh. What they beat us that first game back 43 to 0? They were not even good that year if I recall.
It sure as hell wasn't Diam. He loved Timid...errr.......Tim Couch. So did that great qb talent evaluator, eotab. LOL
Didn't you say Baker was going to be trash player? I wouldn't be throwing stones and calling someone out on evaluating players. There are literally people who get PAID to evaluate players, and are wrong the MAJORITY of the time.
Opinions are like butt holes, everyone has them and they all stink.
Tim Couch was a QB that needed to be developed. He was certainly not a finished product and was drafted higher than he should have been. Had he of been drafted later to a team that took some time to develop him before throwing him into the fire, he may have been a very good QB.
People talk about him holding the ball but those same people never seem to address the crappy WR's we had at the time. They never address that those WR's couldn't get open to save their life.
As a result he was battered and beaten. He lost all confidence like was seen in him at Kentucky. Being drafted and thrown into the fire in Cleveland was a bad fit for Tim Couch and a bad fit for Cleveland.
Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

This whole time frame was tough. But we were so happy after 3 years of no Browns.
Remember Zeus? He was 6'7" 360 lbs. Highest paid linemen in the NFL at the time.
Obviously by far the best offensive lineman on the Browns. Arguably the most valuable player on the Browns version II in 1999.
I wanted McNabb or Ricky Williams that draft for the reasons you stated. Couch was a pocket QB without much ability to create outside the pocket. McNabb could have stood a chance by running from the beatings Couch took. Or... draft Ricky and focus more on run blocking. Which is generally easier to do as a line that hasn’t played much together. Certainly easier than pass blocking. Alas... here we are. Hopefully that saga is over and the next chapters are filled with stories that make the past seem long long ago.
Just in case anyone missed it, Couch will be back again this year for the preseason games. I seem to recall that he and Crawford did a pretty solid job last year.
Jay Crawford and Tim Couch will return for the second year in a row to call the Browns’ preseason action.
