I'm not really sure. When I posted it I read it wrong and for some reason was thinking of HGH, not GHB.

so, you're suggesting that he's been getting funky with himself, against his own will, without him knowing it?

Found this with a simple yahoo search. Seems you were right. http://www.streetdrugs.org/ghb.htmGHB (Gama Hydroxybutyric Acid) is a synthetic depressant produced in clandestine labs. While available as a prescription for sleep disorders in some other countries GHB was banned (in the U.S.) by the FDA in 1990 because of the dangers associated with its use. However, on July 17th, 2002, GHB was approved for treatment of a rare form of narcolepsy. Most of the GHB used in the U.S. is illegally manufactured within its borders. Like Rohypnol, GHB and its analogs are considered "date rape" drugs because they can be mixed with liquids (even water) and a victim wouldn't notice by smelling or looking at it. GHB, by itself, has a soapy or salty taste--but when mixed in a drink it may be difficult to detect.

It is called the "Date rape drug" but after a quick google search people do use it on themselves.

Absolutely!
As a point of reference, Chris Benoit tested positive for GHB too after the murder-suicide. Apparently people can get really hooked on it.

Yea, I also saw where they said Benoit's brain looked like that of an 80 year old with alzheimer's and that he had a severe form of demetia from all the concussions he had sustained while wrestling.

Let me break this down for y'all. GHB IS a so-called "daterape" drug. But talking from experience, taking it, it just feels like you are really, really drunk---but without the lack of clarity going on in your head. Its like your body's drunk, but your mind isn't--kind of like Ketamine.
But also, GHB is used as a PERFORMANCE--ENHANCER, by body-builders and athletes, as it is supposedly a substance that can increase the release or production of growth hormone in its subjects.
Whats not to like, you can get ripped while getting ripped.
It should also be noted that GHB is naturally produced by the body.
I wish to wash my Irish wristwatch......

Boston is a "roid-head" anyway...Didn't he get busted for steroid use by the NFL a year or two ago? What is the NFL's penalty for a second failure for illegal performance enhancing drugs?

How does this thread get placed in this "Pure Football Forum"? I'm confused, I thought this would have been a "Tailgate Forum" thread. Can someone give me a clarification on this as I've always tried my best to post in the proper forums. Thank you.

If I remember correctly, isn't Derden going to school for something along those lines?

Here's the latest.... Boston Released. Buccaneers release troubled receiver Boston Associated Press Updated: September 12, 2007, 12:57 PM ET Comment Email Print TAMPA, Fla. -- Receiver David Boston was released by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Wednesday, two days after police released results of a urine test that showed the eighth-year pro had a depressant in his system when he was arrested and charged with driving under the influence last month. Boston The Bucs said Boston, who hurt his foot during pregame warmups and did not play in last Sunday's season opener at Seattle, was let go after reaching an injury settlement. Receiver/kick returner Mark Jones was signed to replace him. Boston was arrested Aug. 23 when police said he was found slumped over the steering wheel of a red Range Rover with the SUV running and in drive. A breath test taken at the scene was negative for alcohol, however the receiver also submitted a urine sample that was tested for other substances. Police said Monday that an initial positive reading for GHB, or gamma hydroxybutyric acid, was verified by a second independent lab. GHB is a central nervous system depressant often called the "date-rape drug" because it leaves people groggy and powerless. Among other things, it is also said to have body-building effects. Last week, the 29-year-old receiver issued a statement through the team saying he had done nothing wrong and was not impaired when he was arrested. Boston, who has also played for Arizona, San Diego and Miami, missed most of the past three seasons because of knee injuries. He also was suspended four games in 2004 for violating the NFL's steroid policy. Copyright 2007 by The Associated Press

While this has nothing to do with the original post, how can people say this? The man killed his wife and 7 year old son. I hope peace is the last thing that he finds. While I haven't been a wrestling fan for a while, when I was, Benoit was one of my favorites, but that still doesn't change the fact that he murdered 2 innocent people. And while it may have been the side of effects of long term steroid/drug abuse, he chose to put that stuff in his body, therefore he is still responsible.

I think the initial posting was probably OK, but the thread took a "quality nosedive" soon thereafter.
..and yeah, bmrdawg... it happened to me once. I woke up in a hospital recovery room, with my own fingerprints all over my body, no memory of how I got there, and this vague sense of satisfaction...
...but that's for another thread....
