I am in the process of putting handles on the cabinets in our kitchen and bathrooms.

In the process of doing so, I came across a couple of drawers and cabinets that I can't decide whether or not to put handles on.

Would you put handles on the "Non functional drawers under the sink? We have two of these drawer fronts under each sink in the house. Do you have handles on these? Some people say to do it, others say don't. I was just wondering what most on here have.

Also, would you put handles on a lazy susan corner cabinet? And if so would you put them on both sides or just one side?

I really appreciate any help!!

I would probably put handles on the fake drawers...just for a more uniform look. Also on the corner cabinet for the same reason.

Under the sink drawers....only if they closely match the other drawers in the kitchen. Ours (2) are much larger than the others and look ok without the hardware. We have no handles on the lazy susan corner cabinet, either.

Do not put the handles on the fake drawers, unless you install those pullout kits that make them functional. Otherwise, I'm with Michelle on the ''uniform" look.

My neighbor had a party last Christmas and we still don't know which drunk pulled the fake drawer front completely off the kitchen sink cabinet.

Never had a handle on the fake drawers under the sink.

Personally, I would NOT put them on the fake drawers - uniformity or not - I wouldn't. The kitchen will look uniform without them.

On the lazy susan? yeah, I would put them on - both sides.

Sometime I'm going to have to post pictures of what our kitchen looked like when we bought this house, and what it looks like now.

The "fakes" do match the other drawers. It is not one long one like yours, but two separate ones. I am just worried that someone will pull them off, especially in the restrooms.

OohRah- I never thought about installing those pull out kits. It would make more sense to have handles on them if they opened up like that. Do you know if they are hard to install?

I was only referring to the kitchen. I haven't seen too many bathroom cabinets without handles on the fake drawers.

That's what I was thinking. Did you put them on in the restroom?

Home Depot/Lowe's item; if you're handy-- no sweat. They are easier to do on newer style cabinets that have the nice little removable connector(s) on the back of the panel.

Yea. Tell me about it. I needed 40 just to finish the kitchen, and that is without the 2 I may need for the "fakes"

Needed another 30 to finish off all 3 bathrooms. At $4 a pop, we spent $300 on just the hardware.

It looks awesome though. They give the kitchen a whole new feel.

I'm not all that handy...yet. I'm working on it. This is our first house, so I am new to all of this.

I just looked, and it looks like mine are the removable panel ones. It looks like all I need to do is remove a screw in the middle of each holder and then they snap off. Does that sound right?

I'm sure the hardware comes with instructions, so I would hope that I can figure it out. I looked for instructions online, but cannot find anything useful.

If you only put it on one side, which one? (for the lazy susan)

Don't snap 'em, they should twist/turn after loosening the screw,...careful the panel don't fall off and hit the floor, damage, etc.

No handles on the false drawers by the sink, you'll be constantly snagging your clothes on them, yes to both sides on the lazy suzanne, give it a balanced look.

I'm in the same situation in my kitchen, believe it or not. I'm just using the same holes that were there:
None on the fakies, both sides of the susan.
I did acually wonder what purpose the susan handles served, but it's not easy to make the holes disappear.
My issue with the fake drawers is that some drunk person would probably yank it right out of the wall.

No.

That will be $20 for the advice.

Ya know, they don't have to be fake if you don't want them to be..

Go to a homecenter type store like Lowes or Home Deport.. ask them for a conversion kit for the fake drawers in front of the sink.. (I'm assuming that's where they are,, either there or in front of a cooktop)

What these kits allow is the front to tilt out. Inside is a place to hold sponges or other gadgets like a stopper of a small dish washing scrubby....

THEN put the handles on it and it will be functional

Thanks for all the responses guys! We decided to not put handles on the sink ones for now while I look into converting it like a couple people suggested.

The lazy susan is another issue. Still can't decide what to there.
