Boston sports fans feel they have a sense of entitlement. They aren't suppose to lose.

Imagine how they will act if they get the trifecta..

Red Sox - World Series Champs 2018
Patriots - Superbowl Champs 2018-2019
Bruins - Stanley Cup Champs 2018-2019

This is what's making me root for St. Louis. We can't have them holding 3 of the 4 major trophies, just can't. They're just too awful of sports fans.

It's sad, because I love their team's style of play, and I think it would be cool to see Tukka Rask get to hoist the cup. I am not his biggest fan, but I respect the hell out of any nhl goalie who can hang in there as long as he has. It's real easy to get replaced in the NHL, especially in net.

Not a Bruins fan in general but I do have a soft spot for the "Original Six" teams...

Go Blues.

Tough loss for Blues last night. Didn't come out as strong as I had hoped. When JB gave up that soft 3rd goal and they lost the replay that gave the Bruins another PP and the 4th goal that was it. Hate to say it but the Bruins look like the better team. They are faster and a little better skaters. I think it will be difficult for the Blues to bounce back.

Good bounce back game for the Blues last night. They really hung in there. Thought they were done when they manhandled the Bruins for several minutes in the offensive zone, only to draw a penalty, then give up a shorthanded goal. Those can be absolutely back-breaking. They really fought through a tough spot.

I didn't see the game but my buddy told me the blues were on top of things, for the most part. Glad to see them tie up the series. I'll probably watch game 5, hopefully St. Louis gets the win in Boston and takes it back home for a chance to win the Cup.

Now it's a sprint, a best of three.

Agreed. Sperg, my Blues are showing a lot of heart and toughness. I'm still not sure if they can win the series but it would sure be great especially it being a Boston team.

They just now lost the series in 6. Game just ended....it was an early start because Newfoundland is 1.5 hours ahead. How does that happen, lol. Lamp, it was the ECHL finals.

They really did us proud, jfan.

Dawgs.... the entire town has been buzzing for weeks. Every single game night (home OR away) had extra energy. When the team played away games, 3 or 4 major establishments would host watch parties. Hundreds would attend.

I think they can pull it off. Take away any kind of home ice advantage, because I really don't think it has any effect on the game, other than some slight advantages on who and when you put guys out there.

I think the Blues just have to keep doing what they are doing, and avoid those ugly stretches where multiple goals can happen. Keep forechecking the crap out of them in their own zone, and limit the odd man stuff, which is tough because zone play mistakes obviously lead to odd man rushes. It's a double edged sword, but it's what St. Louis has to play with to beat this Boston team.

This has been such an evenly played series. I don't have a good lean either way on who I think. Both teams are capable.

As an outsider I just hope this goes 7

The Blues have to continue playing the way they did in game #4. Keep hitting and take it to them. I think the Bruins are wearing down from all the hits. It's becoming a series of attrition. Again, as a Blues fan I won't believe they will win until it happens. Too many disappointments over the years.

Years ago, the Storm was voted the worst logo in professional sports, lol. I loved that team and the old arena, we had season tickets and made many good friends there. My wife and son drove down to Cincy to see the very last Storm game. We were so upset we just couldn't get behind the Walleye until the last couple years.

I enjoyed them, too (Storm).

That old arena was a dump, but it was our dump, and we loved it. I loved that it was right on the river. It was always so cool to see it filling up with cars as you crossed the bridge.

Saw some good shows in the 70's there, too.

Dang, Dawg- we's gettin' old.

Oh, well... on to next year. Gotta take in a few games if I can. Only hitch: our seasons run the same months, and on my days off I'm too bushed to leave the house!

Blues fan - hmmmm. Aren't you from NE area?

I ask only because I am a New Englander, but root for teams in all sports outside NE, none of the "local" teams.

Great game again out of the Blues last night, they have really asserted themselves as the better team in this series. Sunday night could be a wild one in St. Louis.

This has been a fun tournament this year, sad to see it wind down to maybe the last game of the season.

Great game last night but it was ruined by that tripping no-call that lead to the Blues 2nd goal. While he embellished a bit, that was my first reaction, I don't see how that wasn't called. Sure, maybe the refs wanted them to play it out, but sure enough 6 seconds later they score.

I don't really care all that much since these are two of my three least favorite NHL teams (Congrats Detroit, you're still #1 on that list). I suppose one of them will get their hearts crushed. I would rather see the Blues win than the Bruins though. They do look like a team of destiny.

I'm the same way. I am a New Englander but I root for teams outside of the area. Love my Browns, St. Louis fan in baseball and hockey, Lakers in basketball. Don't like Red Sox, Celtics or Bruins at all. Patriots don't bother me although I am getting a little tired of them winning all the time. If I wasn't a Browns fan I would probably be a Giants or Pats fan. It does make for good sports conversation when I talk to others about it. Not many others in this area root for the same teams I do.

Another thought. It's fine the Blues players adopted the "Gloria" song as a rallying cry. If it helps them win the Cup the more power to them. The "Gloria" song I like is the one from the mid sixties by "The Shadows of Knight". Great song and a real classic!!!!

St Louis Blues, Have been playing hockey at least 40 years, and

NBC coverage acts like they've got to explain how they just became a team because they didn't win a Cup before this,

with all this commentary in the 3rd period about, how they formed the franchise,
40 years

Or more the Blues have all been around and they've been playing good hockey over the years, and it's very condescending on the part of the folks doing the coverage, to act like it's a 2 year expansion team or that just because they didn't win more championships that they didn't exist.

Agreed +1. I never thought I'd live to see the day. BLUES WIN Stanley Cup!!!! YEEEEHAAA. What makes it even sweeter they beat a Boston team in their building. It doesn't get any better than that. Only one team left for me that I haven't seen win it all; my beloved Browns. Hopefully that will change in the near future!!!!! thumbsup

Just moved about a half hour west of St Louis. Been here four days. Man - the fans have been on a roller coaster. Sunday, before the match, the excitement kind of drowned out the fear, but the tension was in the air. Today? These people were walking on eggshells. Closer to game time, seemed like everyone was just fired up. Checking out at a grocery store minutes before the game, a twenty-something with his jersey on checking me out.
"Big one tonight, eh" I said.
"This could be the greatest day of my life"
"Hopefully it will be!"
He repeated... "this could be the greatest day of my life"

Fear, excitement, every emotion imaginable, written all over his face. He was all but cross-eyed lol. I shared how special it was to watch the Cavs and LeBron a few years back. Some lady in line said "wow, that had to be special, hopefully we can feel that tonight". I walked away thinking, hey, if they don't win he's got a lifetime to chase this one. It's always easy to look at things from the perspective of a long suffering Cleveland fan.

So, I watched my first hockey match. My kids have been bugging me for a few years now. THAT was electric. That match was over, 10 minutes in, St Louis didn't have a chance... And then it all turned around.

Good stuff.

If I gave you a list in the year 2000 of teams that will go on to win championships in the next 20 years, I think you'd be shocked. Seems like it's been someone every year ending a drought or getting their first title. The perception of a lot of those teams 20 years ago was not very good.

Makes it seem not so crazy that it could be the Browns at some point over the next few years.

Nearly 2 days after their victory I still can't believe the Blues won it all. It felt surreal when the last few seconds ticked off and they came storming onto the ice. After all these years Blues fans and the city of ST. LOUIS deserves it. ENJOY!!!!!!

Awesome parade, saw some of the ceremony. It's always awesome to see a city get their first cup.

Really sucks that NHL and NBA playoffs are done. I love football the most when it comes to what sports I watch on tv, but my favorite time of the year is that Spring season of playoff hockey and basketball.

I am so ready for this Browns season to get going!

Didn’t watch as neither team held much appeal. That said I’m glad St Louis won. Boston has enough damn championships.

Didn't like the teams either, but damn I loved the clashing of styles.

Binnington's goaltending in game 7, especially that first period, was some of the best netting I have ever seen in that kind of a spot. The Blues could have easily gotten down 1-0 or 2-0 in the first 10 minutes or so. Really fun stuff.

I felt for Tukka Rask, just so close a few times now. I know he has a cup with the Bruins from 2011, but he didn' play, and I know that has to eat at him. Couldn't blame him for that absolute meltdown in 2013 in game 6, and you certainly cant't blame him for game 7 the other night. Just the way it goes sometimes.

Bernie Kosar always says that QB's are victims or beneficiaries of the guys around them, and sometimes I think you can say the same for goalies.

Hats of to Zdeno Chara who was out there, at age 42, with a messed up jaw from a puck, still giving everything he had for his team.

I'm a fan of both so I've had to deal with the misery of both sports for a long time. One finally came to an end. Hopefully the Browns won't be to far behind.

Yeah, if you compare what the Browns were before the move, it's really close to the Blues. The Blues have been a pretty consistent organization as far as putting good teams together, so I definitely can't compare them to what we saw with the Browns these last 18-19 years.

But you can see the Browns coming out of that hole, and with St. Louis becoming another team to get the monkey off their backs, it just seems like the Browns can absolutely do it too.

I am really missing playoff hockey right now. The playoffs are long, but it goes by so fast.
