Maccagnan (spelling) deserved to be fired based soley on the contracts he structured this year.
At a time when their hope of a franchise QB is on his rookie deal and their best defensive guy in a contract year, Mac pushed out escalating contracts to essentially create a fake cap room number for this season of 28 million dollars. Why? Is he hoping a new CBA won't be struck?? Seriously.
LeVeon Bell 2019 cap hit: 8.9 million...2020: 15.5 million CJ Mosely 2019 cap hit: 13 million...2020: 17.5 million Quincy Enunwa 2019 cap hit: 2.8 million...2020: 7.9 million...for Quincy Enunwa!?! Jamison Crowder 2019 cap hit: 6.7 million...2020: 10million...10 frickin' million...for Jamison Crowder!
Seriously, he should have signed up for a financial planning seminar at the community college or something.
People ask me what I do in spring when there's no football. I'll tell you what I do. I stare out the window and wait for fall

I don't know or care much about the Jets. Does this help the Browns beat the steelers?

There has to be something to the Texans situation we don't know about.
Micah 6:8; He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God.
John 14:19 Jesus said: Because I live, you also will live.

I hope they hire Farmer, but Sashi would be my first choice.

Just giving Farmer an interview is reason enough to think the people in charge don’t know what they’re doing.

I don't know how well Farmer would work out. I would question his ability to work with the HC. But I think Farmer has a keen eye for talent.

We know he loves Wide Receivers .... and loves telling offensive co-ordinators what to do during a game. First thing he would do is trade all of Houston's WRs because WRs are a dime a dozen ...

Based on Bitonio, Kirksey, Desir, Duke, Shelton, Erving, Crowell, Snead.... And yes, before everyone laughs, there were better options than Shelton and Erving, but those guys are still in the NFL...

I think he got his first break that way, but has since earned is starting spot.
I didn't like Erving when he was here. I used to argue w/quite a few folks about him. However, I thought Sashi was stupid for trading him for a 5th rounder considering our lack of OL depth at the time.

He was the backup to Andrew Wylie.
He got in initially because their RG Duvernay-Tardif got a concussion in preseason. Wylie kicked over to RG and Erving stepped in at LG. Duvernay-Tardif missed almost all of the preseason.
Duvernay-Tardif was then put on IR after the first week of October with a broken leg sustained in their Week 4 game against the Jaguars.

What I'm working towards is the question of how well he is playing. He seems like a good guy and all, but man was he brutal to watch while he was here. I'm genuinely/sincerely curious as to how well he's playing, and why.

He was one of the worst offensive lineman I've ever seen while he was here. I can't say I've watched him much since he's been a Chief, but PFF has him graded very poorly. https://www.profootballfocus.com/nfl/players/cam-erving/9452

A Chiefs team recap from the same site: https://www.profootballfocus.com/news/pro-kansas-city-chiefs-2018-season-recapWhat went right?
- Patrick Mahomes was the most valuable player in the NFL by our Wins Above Replacement metric, and he was not only prolific in making big plays in his first year as a starter, but he was also excellent at limiting bad plays.
- Tyreek Hill broke the PFF record for most deep receiving yards, and he is quickly becoming one of the biggest matchup problems in the entire league.
- The loss of Kareem Hunt gave life to Damien Williams, who stepped right in as another anecdote that running backs are largely replaceable in the NFL.
- Chris Jones proved to be one of the NFL’s top pass-rushing interior defenders, generating 74 pressures in the regular season and earning a sack in 11 consecutive games.
- After an inconsistent first four years for Dee Ford, the former first-round pick from Auburn put forth a career-best grade (88.6).
What went wrong?
- Signed to replace long-time stalwart Derrick Johnson, Anthony Hitchens failed to reward the Chiefs for their investment in him. He finished with a 40.6 overall grade that was emblematic of their entire linebacking corps.
- While the Chiefs were solid at the tackle positions, the interior of their offensive line struggled in pass protection, especially late in the season, when Cam Erving was a liability on every snap. Harsh, but sounds familiar...

Probably long overdue. thought he was pretty good at the time and only his greed for power done him in. Should have not thrown Romeo under the bus the way he did. jmho

Harsh, but sounds familiar... Thank you for posting that. I also don't watch any Chiefs games, plus I'm not usually one to agonize over players that leave. Erving was a curiosity to me, though. Sounds like the change of scenery only did him a little bit of good ("a liability on every snap" IS a step up from how we would characterize his limited play here). So while it seems he did actually improve after he left Cleveland, a 5th-rounder sounds about right, perhaps even a bit high.

... and my recollection was that that end result of the play happened quite a bit for him. Yup. He always played too tall & upright, never learned how to sink his hips, so guys were always getting up under his pads and blowing him up at will. All the potential physical talent, no ability or capability to master the techniques that would make him a viable pro. He is literally only still in the league based on his potential because NFL coaches are like women who always go for the "bad boy".... "Oh, I can fix him!"

Didn't he injure himself trying to tackle a guy after an INT? He completely missed the guy and landed on his side, tearing his lung or something I remember.

"I want to assure you there will be no changes in coaches here," Johnson said in an opening statement to reporters. "Adam has the trust of this team. He has the trust of Sam [Darnold]. He has Joe [Douglas'] trust. He has my trust. He's a good man, he's a good coach."
Asked if his commitment applies to after the season as well, Johnson nodded.
"Even after the season," he said. https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/2807...turn-coach-2020
