This is one of those things were determining what is true is difficult.

https://thefandc.radio.com/redskins-trent-williams-holdout-injury-issues-biggest-story-danny-rouhier

How this plays out will be worth noting.

Washington can not afford to lose this guy. I am certain Gruden and company will do all they can to fix whatever went wrong.

However, if Williams refuses to play there? Not sure how that can or will be handled.

If Williams does become available and the Browns could get him. Damn it would have more of an impact than McCoy would have had.

First he is a day one starting Pro Bowl left tackle. Second it allows Robinson to move to RT if he proves a better option than Hubbard. Third a former starter becomes a depth player off the bench.

You add a LT of his quality and possibly upgrade RT as well.

That would theoretically upgrade the passing game and running game. In addition it could also keep Baker from injury.

There is no way of knowing how this will go.

But just thinking of adding Williams is for sure juicy.

He would be a pretty sweet upgrade, even if still unlikely to happen. As you said though there's no way of knowing how this will go.

I think Washington would be foolish to trade or release him. And even he did become available, I think he would cost a fortune in assets and cap dollars to the team that would trade for him. I don't think he will become a Brown.

I am pretty sure he has two years left on his contract at $12, or $13 a year.

So if that is true we would have to pay that and compete with others in a trade offer.

Robinson or Hubbard plus Duke, Kirksey, draft picks? whatever Dorsey sees as legit and Washington accepts.

If he becomes available I see us as contenders. Not necessarily as winners.

There's a chance we'd have to pay him more for him to be happy and show up to play, though.

He is under contract.

From my understanding this is not about money.

It is about the way he was treated medically. Apparently he had a tumor removed from his head. Again I don't know the full story. But he was unhappy with the way he was treated by the Washington medical staff?

What that means? I don't know. Maybe they didn't take seriously enough and he did?

Money was never mentioned.

You suggest offereing either one or the other of the two projected OT's at this point in the year, for a possible trade for a player which the article mentioned injury history

So, He must be much better than what the team already has, to warrant a deal, and He must pan out as healthy enough for it not to be an issue.

I disagree, I don't see the passionate upside.

Ok, I got the injury idea from the title of the link, but after further reading, the situation sounds like he's not nursing a football injury, but a general health scare, and now he's mad at his team.

Either way.

If they bring the guy on, and keep the two current tackles, then there's huge upside.

If they bring the guy on to simply replace one of the current tackles, I think there is significantly less upside, even if it's there.

I didn't offer a thing just suggestions that may come up if he were made available.

In addition I don't know what you know of Trent Williams?

What I know is he is a seven time Pro Bowl LT. He is considered one of the best LT in the game. Both as a pass blocker and in run blocking.

He had a tumor removed that was benign.

Robinson and Hubbard are not in his league as players.

Robinson could be offered in trade but it would take more to Williams.

I’d LOVE it but I think this is a pipe dream at this point ... I think there going to be forced to move him ... just another unforced error by a very bad management team ...

I feel bad for Jay Gruden ... he’s been working with totally incompetent management since day 1 ... and the last two year injuries have just destroyed any chance pee poor management has given them ...

Yeah, I think he has proven to be a very good coach. I don't know if any team in the league has dealt w/more injuries than they have over the last few years.

He is 31 and Robinson gives him more time to heal if that is a necessity. Treating him right? I think we can give him a good home!

But once in at 100% health he is excellent. Fast great for the run game as well as pass!

Washington can not afford to lose Williams. They will do everything possible to get this right.

"If" Williams is adamant that he refuses to play for them.

Then it is a matter of what they could get. Many teams will have interest.

Duke alone? That is absurd.

First is how does this get handled by Washington.

This is odd. We have a player who wants to be traded and people think that's terrible. Yet Trent Williams wants to be traded and Browns fans want to bring him here.

Things that make you go hmmmmmm.

Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

Maybe fans are making the assumption that Trent would actually want to play here. Would you rather have a player that wants to play in your city as opposed to one that doesn't? lol

It seems both have made it obvious they are players who will speak out when and if they're unhappy. Do you want to bring in a player with that kind of history? I mean Duke was happy when he came here too.

wink

Or it could have something to do with the fact one of them is a really good LT a position of NEED for us and the RB is #2 on the depth chart for the first 8 games and then #3 on the depth chart ...

Williams would shore up one of the weakest positions we have on the team where as Duke is a “back up” and he drops to #3 in week 9 ....

The fact Pit can’t figure that part out makes me go .... hmmmmmmm ..... cause me know Pit smarter than that .... naughtydevil ...

Sheldon Richardson was unhappy with the Jets. OBJ unhappy with the Giants. Many players unhappy at one time or another, I don't think that means they all have a "history" of being unhappy.

Two different circumstances.

From where we sit we will never get the full picture. Both players may have justifiable reasons.

Gruden loves Williams. He has spent his entire career in Washington as a productive player and good teammate. His issue is not about money or playing time. It has to do with the organization and medical staff.

Duke's issues are his. I understand why. At the same time it is not money or team. It is playing time. For the Browns it is pure business.

Williams by all accounts is a good man. So is Duke.

So from a business perspective we wait and see if there is an opportunity to upgrade the team just like when we acquired Hunt.

All I know he is an upgrade over what we have.

Or maybe it could be the comments made by a certain someone and people who were defending Duke before those comments suddenly changed and called him a "whiner" and other uncomplimentary labels.

Your premise note her here ridiculous.

What that have to do about the price in tea in China?

Yep poster must be hypocrites if they do not like when a player from their own team says "TRADE ME" What does that have to do with TW saying Trade me to Washington. If he said Trade me anywhere but Cleveland then I can see your point. But he didn't so who cares if he asked to be traded from the Redskins..I'm not a Redskins fan. So it is totally IRRELEVANT to me.

What you were accusing of posters was just totally illogical. But it pleased one poster...lol laugh

Once again you refuse to actually read a thread. Or you fail to comprehend what you're reading. I'm not sure which one.

Why don't you read the exchange between Diam and myself. It's pretty clear I was just poking fun for anyone who bothers to read it.

Now back to your regularly scheduled program.......
