https://finance.yahoo.com/news/iran-clai...-064728115.htmlI’m betting the drone was a sacrificial lamb. The winds of war are in the air. Gear up the bomb and casket making. Yippee, we get another war to send our sons and daughters to. Rejoice American’s! “These attacks come against the backdrop of heightened tensions between the US and Iran following Donald Trump's decision to withdraw from Tehran's nuclear deal with world powers a year ago.” Murcia is back in black and ready for dirty deeds in Iran now.

It surely feels like Trump has decided to go to war with Iraq ... wasn't another one of his broken election promises to bring the troops back home and stop the USA being the policeforce of the world? The guy grows more dangerous by the day. Maybe this is what Putin said was a good idea?

MSNBC analyst said Iran is doing these things. They are acting out like the example set by NK. NK acted out repeatedly until Trump paid them attention and they got part of what they wanted. Iran wants the sanctions lifted.

Once again the world expects the USA to police them all. Except this time a bad cop is on duty. So I’ll expect the worse.

These aged well. Yeah, Obama was smart enough to know not to be flying drones all up in Iran’s face. And how to actually negotiate a deal with Iran.

I can't prove it, but I bet plenty of drones were flying over Iran during the Obama Admin.. But, this is typical of Trump,, He forgets what he says. I swear, this guy accuses people of doing things that he himself does. Not the brightest bulb in the lamp.

Well - if he can say dumb stuff, lie, contradict himself and his base never questions it, doesn't see it or doesn't care ... is he really dumb or has he simply been enabled to the point of no return?

The guy grows more dangerous by the day. Maybe this is what Putin said was a good idea? Speaking on Thursday during a televised call-in show, Putin said the US military action against Iran would be a "catastrophe for the region as a minimum." He added that it would trigger an escalation of hostilities with unpredictable results. Putin noted that Iran has abided by the terms of a nuclear deal despite the US withdrawal, adding that he considers US sanctions against Iran unfounded. The Islamic Republic's state-run IRNA news agency has insisted the country's Revolutionary Guard hit the drone when it flew over Iran in a "clear message" to Washington. It has now filed a complaint with the United Nations over the incident and said it would "vigorously" defend its sovereignty.

Like this? “radical Democrat opponents are driven by hatred, prejudice and rage” While he calls everyone who opposes him names. Or this? “They want to destroy you and they want to destroy our country as we know it,” Trump snarled. “Not acceptable. It’s not going to happen!” Yeah, no hatred, prejudice and rage there.

As the drums of war are beating more loudly it seems with each passing day, there is something worth considering....
Iran doesn't actually have the capability to strike the United States. But we do have a very close allie within their range. A nation they know would strike at the core of the United states.
Israel.
From everything I've seen and heard, nobody is talking about this. Nobody seems to be looking at the options Iran has to mount a response to any military actions we may take against them. There is a very real possibilities that such a war in this region of the world, against someone with a "real military" could be a war to end all wars.
Don't pretend Iran will be alone. World interests dictate they will have strong allies. Don't be surprised when we have fewer allies than many may think.
If history has taught us anything, this won't be as simple as some will try to make it out to be.

I just remember the things we were told about why we should go to war with Iraq. I remember the case they made for war. I also realize how very wrong they were.
We had just decimated Iraq's military 11 years earlier in the gulf war. They were no real adversary. Yet there we still remain on some level. They lacked the military ability to strike back against one of our allies. Their ability to even mount a defense was poor at best.
I also remember many of our allies saw conflicting intel we were not shown. I remember it was much harder to build a large coalition to support the war against Iraq.
Those look very similar to some of the circumstances I see now.
Only this time, Iran has a real military. Their forces were not torn down a decade ago. And they will find a way to retaliate.
I just don't want to see our young men and women dying once again on foreign soil in a war we really didn't need to be in.

I'm pretty sure America would shoot down an Iranian drone if it ventured too close to American air space....

as someone who actually deployed to iraq, i would like this evidence you speak of that we won.
cause what the dems said turned out to be absolutely true. they were fighting for thousands of years before us...and are still fighting now around the region.
it appears a lot of you still think we fight wars like its WW2. outdated logic and history.

iraq as far as a formal military didn't win.
but again, simply paying attention would tell you that modern combat rarely involves formal military vs formal military.

These talks always go the same way. This is how I feel 99% of the time in here anymore. I read almost every post everyday and it is draining. When lies and half truths became 'alternative facts' it broke civility and the democracy IMHO. You can't have a logical fact based dialogue with anyone from the other camp these days, certainly not in here.

I think your memory is foggy. What was said, and is still true, was stated simply by Colin Powell. “you break it, you own it” Bush and his administration didn't understand how things work over there. The hatred between the Shia and the Sunnis. The sects of the Muslim religion that would be fighting for the control of Iraq. How toppling Sadaam would destabilize the entire country and we would be there for decades bogged down. And we're still there. So much for it being "over". Everyone knew that we had just decimated their military 11 years earlier. If there's any validity to your assertion, please post any source you can find to back that up. I didn't think so.

I guess I’m still trying to figure out why would even consider bombing Iran that will kill a bunch of people over an unmanned drone.
Why would the op get the go ahead call in the first place? Everybody seems to want to give trump the thumbs up for calling it off, but ignore the fact that he ordered it in the first place.

Did anybody die in the oil tankers attacks that even the republicans aren’t sure was Iran?
Also, I read his tweets on why he stopped the op.
Ummm....so he wasn’t aware how many potential casualties was going to happen until 10 minutes before the mission was executed?

All of this is really weird.
Trump is upset about Iran not following an agreement that HE pulled out of first, despite the fact that Iran was completely in compliance before he pulled us out. We then have this oil tanker fiasco where nobody can be trusted except the Japanese tanker owner who said trump was making crap up.
Trump then orders a strike against Iran on 3 different targets that would’ve killed close to 150 people, all over an UNMANNED drone.
Only after he op is underway does he decide to abort the mission 10 minutes before he mission is executed because he finds out after the fact about the potential casualty numbers. Something, oh I dunno, would’ve been nice to know BEFORE he ordered the strike.
Interesting.
