By chance heard this band about three days ago. Since then I read about them. Listened to an interview with the lead singer. And watched what I could find on youtube.
I read a few comments. One guy who had been in music for 50 years as a radio producer etc. now retired said Kaleo was the best young band he has heard in many years.
I feel the same way. They cross genres with ease. Not stuck in a particular sound. Very sound as musicians, good lyrics.
But there is something else happening with them. It is was I call honesty. Their music is real. They have that magic that translates to the audience.
I see from the hits that they are catching people.
I look forward to watching them add more music and hope I get a chance to see before they get to big.
As a footnote to this song. It is true that Les Paul made guitars before 1950, Les Paul guitars did not go into production until 1952. It has always been my feelings that the person in the song is actually trying to swindle the banker by claiming to have a, "1950 Les Paul guitar". Anything to get his dad buried. Just an interesting twist.
Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.
