Trump is a brilliant negotiator.

Kim Jong-un is clearly an evil dictator.

I would have thought dealing with North Korea was pointless. That the North Korean people were just going to have to suffer under Kim Jong-un.

But, Trump is placing Jong-un in a tenable position to improve the fate of North Korea.

I’m not sure if “save face” is the right word. But Trump is “paving the way” for Kim Jung-un to improve.

It’s like Trump is thinking: “What are the vexatious points of the world?”, and he’s putting his incredible understanding of human nature, tireless energy and supreme negotiating skills to work.



(I still think Jong-un is a worthless piece of human refuse)

So far all Trump has accomplished is raising the status of Kim on the world stage. This is what Kim has been seeking all along. N. Korea has agreed to give up nothing in return.

Being the first president to step on N. Korean soil isn't an accomplishment. It's a concession. Trump thinks anything and everything that he's the first to do is some great conquest. His ego refuses to allow him to consider there are reasons no president has never done it before.

It's because you don't elevate the status of dictators.

But then, when you're in love you do some crazy things......



Do his supporters even listen to this man speak?

While I'm not a fan of Trump....I do think that making an effort to engage NK in direct communication is the only way that there will ever be change in that corner of the world....

We've already seen that all previous efforts dealing with NK have had little to no impact....the sanctions, the bluster/rhetoric......all these efforts have only functioned to hurt the population of this already impoverish nation. The Kim family is not suffering.....its the people who are bearing the brunt..
