The 4th is almost upon us, and it's fireworks fails season! I'm almost to the point where I think they should be outlawed for the general public.
This video isn't about fireworks, it's about maliciously stupid people. I'd say almost all those scenarios are criminal and some could have turned felonious if one of the "prank targets" got seriously injured. (it's not hard to imagine a broken neck in there)
Could be fame/profit motivated too, right? (post the video on the internet)
"Fireworks don't kill people..."
Give me my fireworks. Ground blooms are fun.
You'll have to pry my fireworks from my cold dead hands. (my 8 1/2 fingered cold dead hands)
I think we had a conversation on here last year about fireworks. My position has not changed.
I think fireworks are kinda cool when you see them set off in a controlled public environment, such as when cities are in charge of the event.
However, I don't like it when fools in the neighborhood shoot them off. I especially detest the one that just go "BOOM" and don't give off any cool lights.
"BOOM!" How freaking dumb is that?
I would be all for making it illegal for wanna-be macho men not being able to set off these damn things.
In the South, there are giant Fireworks Warehouses. Where you can buy every kind of firework known to man. You go in there empty handed and leave with a sack full of goodies.
I don't mind them in the neighborhood. (What good is a childhood if your parents don't get you some fireworks for the 4th?)
The only thing I'm not keen on is the sticks in my yard and on my roof, the next morning. Just don't burn my house down. Please and Thank You.
I think the laws are fine where they are, or where they were 20 years ago rather, because I'm not sure what shenanigans the lawmakers have pulled recently.

! BAM !
cool.
Can Deshaun Watson play better for the Browns, than Baker Mayfield would have? ... Now the Games count.
The dad of one of my best friends lost most of his hand because he saw a 7-year old holding a lit M80 (or something bigger). He grabbed it from the kid but before he could throw it, the damage was done.
I’m okay with public firework shows, after seeing a few hundred, they don’t retain the same amazement, IMO. I can’t bring myself to say no Americans should set them off themselves, but it’s so dangerous. Hope it’s a safe 4th.

I (almost) got a Constitutional right.
The problem is that it seems like 80% of the people who buy fireworks are morons.
One year, many ago, it was Sunday night, and I had to be up at 8am for work. I had friends over till about 1am. I then went to bed, and about 3:30am, some idiot set off these incredible loud, shake the house, firecrackers. (or whatever they're called at that level)
Woke me right back up. I was furious. I went to the window, and boomed out; "You idiots probably don't have jobs, but I do, and if I hear one more of these things go off I am either going to call the cops, or get my gun and show how loud it can be."
Silent night ....
Micah 6:8; He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God.

I've got a neighbour about 150 yards away who sets off fireworks a few times a year - illegally, since we live in a small town. It ticks me off because the sound scares the hell out of my parakeet, and a couple of dogs who live in the area, whose owners I know.
Hell, people have to work the next day, or have little kids who get woken up because of some Yahoo.
He's been asked not to do it, but he just ignores it. He might just be getting visit from the cops tomorrow (it's Canada Day up here on Monday).
I've seen enough fireworks displays in my life that they're no big deal to me.
If people want to set off fireworks, then go to a farmers field and have at it.
If it’s not legal to do in your area, then I’d call the cops too. He’s one of the stupid people who has managed to mix in some selfish with it.
The idiots around here have ruined it for everybody and the cops don't care. If you call the cops they want you to give them the name and address of the person setting them off. Put down your damn doughnuts, get off your ass and drive over here stop the idiots.
I have no problems with folks setting them off their selves on July 4th but these idiots start setting them off in the middle of June and keep setting them off until the middle of July, at all hours of the night. They scare kids, they scare the dogs, and they wake people up in the middle of the night. While the cops just
I grew up with fireworks.....and I'll never forget the last few years of my grandparents lives, every fourth of july the entire family would get together at my uncles house, and everyone would come into town because we all knew that this could be the last 4th that the patriarch/matriarch of the family would still be alive....
And during those last couple/few celebrations, I remember my father building a big rig set up with the thousands of $$ in mortars that the family pooled together to buy....and once it was dark, the whole neighborhood would be out in lawnchairs, and the kids and young adults lounging in the swimming pool, and we had our own private firework display, complete with a big grand finale all nestled in a misplaced cul-de-sac cut out of the woods in a tiny NE Ohio township....
There is something very special about a family or neighborhood firework display.....whether its the intimacy of it, the idea that this was just for us, or the quiet secret that we are all part of something technically illegal; whatever it is.....or was......its a part of some of my fondest family memories....
Elderly man dies in fireworks accident in front of kids he was setting off fireworks for Police say the man was lighting fireworks in his front yard for neighborhood kids when he lit one facing the wrong way, hitting him in the chest. Author: WTOL Newsroom Published: 4:18 AM EDT July 2, 2019 Updated: 5:43 AM EDT July 2, 2019 TOLEDO, Ohio — A man was killed in a fireworks accident Monday night in north Toledo.
The incident happened on Lagrange Street near Pearl around 12:30 a.m.
Police say an elderly man was lighting large fireworks in his front yard when he lit one facing the wrong way.
Police say the firework hit him in his chest and he died instantly.
"He tried to fire off a rocket that goes up into the sky and it backfired and took his chest off," said Benjamin Avalos, a friend of the victim.
The man's name has not yet been released, but neighbors and witnesses say the man was setting off fireworks all day for neighborhood kids, and the accident happened in front of small children.
"It went off and his chest exploded, and [the kids] ran over to my house and told me about it. That's when police showed up," said neighbor Rick Tuggle. "They were sitting over there. They're probably traumatized right now, I got to go check on them to see where their head at right now because they're probably traumatized. They were sitting right there on the stairs when it happened. One of my kids was sitting right there on those stairs."
One man said he tried to save the victim immediately following the accident, until rescue crews could arrive on scene.
Tuggle says he can't believe this happened in his neighborhood.
"I never thought this would even happen over here. Kids ran, bro!" Tuggle said.
Neighborhoods say he was a well-known and loved man who got along with everyone in the neighborhood and loved to set off fireworks for everyone to hear.
"We've been [shooting off fireworks] all day for the kids, give the kids a display. All day long, all day long," Avalos said. "He's a really nice guy, nice guy. He's my brother bro, I really love him with all my heart."

There will be plenty more where that came from, along with some missing hands and burned down houses. Happens every year. Maybe someday we'll learn, but I doubt it.

Very wrong place to set off fireworks. one wrong spark can set that entire field on fire and he loses his crop at the min. not easy to put out a field fire, spreads very fast.
I dont mind of the 3rd or 4th but before or after nope. and if you do please stop at least 10pm.
Wow, neighbors across the street have a big party and are setting off all kinds of fireworks in the street. Super loud.
So I took Juliet for a walk. Prior to this she was hiding in the bathroom.
Well, she put on her best big tough dog face and marched bravely down the street and back.
Good girl!
And now that we are back in the house, the fireworks arent even phasing her. She is just laying next to the couch trying to cool off because its hot out there.
Damn, I'm tired. We have family in from Ohio and had a big cookout and swim party in between the rain showers and I did a ton of work to prepare for it.
I'm very tired and at 9:36, my old ass is ready for bed. But damn, the fireworks are going to make sleep a bit of a problem.
For those of you who love the "BOOM" bombs, will you please think about how inconsiderate they are to others who may want to sleep?
I usually stay up much later, but damn, I'm tired....
