I would think that a pro strength ad conditioning coach would be able to add some good weight to him.

The kid is 6'2" and 175. He's also only 19, and may yet have a little growth in him. There are guys who have continued to grow while in the NBA.

Hes not 6'2. Idc what his billing says. hes lucky to be 6'1.

Just like Durant wasn't 7'0 - they can say whatever height they want in the NBA.

Sexton was measured at 6'0.5" without shoes and 6'1.5" with shoes. https://www.nbadraft.net/2018-nba-draft-combine-measurements

It's not unusual for someone like that to be listed at 6'2", although it is not universal. Just figure listed height to be "approximate height" with it usually being somewhat less than that. For example, Anthony Bennett was listed at 6'8" although he was really 6'5.5" without shoes. Durant was always a guy that was taller than he was listed as, but that's not as common.

Thank you. You left out the part the Chris Hayes has reported the Raptors are the favorites to sign him though in your original post.

And the fact that everything with this dude is speculative as he doesn't talk talk or give the media any inclination as what he does.

I don't think anyone in the media knows what Kawhi is going to decide. Even Woj, who is the best, admits he doesn't know. Most feel that it's either Toronto or the Clippers. Kawhi is going to meet w/the 76ers, but that is reportedly a "good-will" meeting. It has more to do w/the clients of certain agents and the ties to Bret Brown.

The Cavs, of course. How else could he give Golden State kicks to the nuts two years in a row?

KD opted out.

It's a bit of a surprise. I thought he might opt-in, collect $31M and then pick his destination next season. He also won't sign a 1-&-1 deal either, since that's the same thing as opting in with the Warriors.

I suppose this news implies he's wants some insurance with his recovery by signing a long term deal now. Come on, that's probably the best plan since he doesn't know how the ankle will respond. If he opted in and they found further complications with the ankle/Achilles, maybe nobody offers a max contract next year if he's still hurt (or visibly far from his normal self). I think he should get as much money as he can now.

Yeah, that actually make s a lot of sense for him. I'm not even sure a team would give him a 1 & 1, as they would be essentially paying him for sitting on the bench with no guarantees that he'd be there the next year.

He's going to want to lock in for a max while he can, and right now, he still can.

AP source: Lakers trading 3 to Wizards, clear cap space

Associated Press TIM REYNOLDS,Associated Press 3 hours ago

The Los Angeles Lakers' price tag for Anthony Davis got a little steeper on Thursday, with the tradeoff being that the team now has the flexibility to bring another max-contract star to play alongside him and LeBron James next season.

A person with knowledge of the negotiations told The Associated Press that the Lakers will send Moritz Wagner, Issac Bonga, Jemerrio Jones and a future second-round pick to the Washington Wizards as part of the deal that will bring Davis to Los Angeles. The Wizards will send cash to the New Orleans Pelicans in the deal, said the person who spoke to the AP on condition of anonymity because the agreement cannot be finalized until July 6.

The trade was first reported by ESPN, and the cash element was first reported by The Washington Post.

Shedding those contracts — along with Davis waiving his $4 million trade kicker, as ESPN reported — will give the Lakers enough cap space to sign a max player, if they are so inclined.

They could also spread that cap space out among multiple players, which could be the more prudent move considering the Lakers have virtually an entire roster to fill. Once this trade is executed, the Lakers will have only James, Davis and Kyle Kuzma under contract for next season, not counting a pair of restricted free agents.

The Lakers agreed earlier this month to acquire Davis from New Orleans for Lonzo Ball, Josh Hart, Brandon Ingram and three first-round draft picks — one of them being De'Andre Hunter, who was chosen by the Lakers on draft night and will then be traded to New Orleans and flipped from there to the Atlanta Hawks.

Thursday's agreement means six players and four picks were the price the Lakers paid for Davis. It technically is not a 10-for-1 move, because the newfound cap space will bring at least one other player to Los Angeles.

Wagner, Jones and Bonga were rookies last season. Wagner averaged 4.8 points in 43 games, Jones scored a total of 27 points in six games and Bonga scored 19 points in 22 appearances with the Lakers.

Some of the comment that followed this article were ripping the Lakers, but I think this is a good move for them. They are clearing more cap space. Those dudes weren't going to help them win a thing.

There are a lot of rumors out there. The one I am hearing most is that they want DeAngelo Russel back. I think they would be smarter to get a couple of the mid-level guys like Beverly and Reddick.

2019 NBA free agency rumors: Kyrie Irving, Kemba Walker commit to teams; Lakers 'true threat' to sign Kawhi Leonard
A look at the latest NBA news and rumors as free agency is now just one day away

One of the most exciting times of the NBA season is upon us, with free agency set to begin in just about 24 hours on Sunday at 6 p.m. ET. Players will not be able to officially sign contracts with teams until July 6 -- when the Moratorium Period has ended -- but can still agree to deals with teams.

This year's free agency is shaping up to be one of the biggest and most eventful in a while. Several big-name free agents could possibly depart from their current teams, including reigning Finals MVP and NBA champion Kawhi Leonard and two-time Finals MVP Kevin Durant. Not to mention there will be a second tier of star free agents who will be intensely pursued, including established veteran names such as Klay Thompson and Jimmy Butler.

Now that the start of free agency is right around the corner, here are the latest rumors and updates that you need to know about.

Vucevic to stay with Magic on $100M deal

Nikola Vucevic will reportedly agree to a four-year, $100 million deal when free agency begins on Sunday, according to a report from Shams Charania. The All-Star is coming off his best season, during which he helped the Magic return to the playoffs, and was expected to be in high demand this summer.

Kings, Dedmon have mutual interest

Another team and player reportedly may have a deal in place despite the fact that free agency is not officially starting for almost an entire day. According to a report from Carmichael Dave, the Sacramento Kings and veteran big man Dewayne Dedmon have confidence that they'll agree to a deal on Sunday.

Lakers have reached out to Beverley, Seth Curry

The Lakers are still on the hunt for a third star to join LeBron James and Anthony Davis, but regardless of whether or not they're able to get someone else, they have plenty of roster spots to fill. In that regard, they're reportedly interested in two backcourt options -- Patrick Beverley and Seth Curry. According to Brad Turner of the Los Angeles Times, the Lakers have reached out to reps for both players.

Durant, Leonard considering playing together

Kevin Durant and Kawhi Leonard are the two biggest free agents on the market this summer, and they reportedly have interest in teaming up. According to a report from Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, the two teams they both would consider signing with are the Los Angeles Clippers and the New York Knicks.

Looney to meet with Rockets, Warriors

Kevon Looney made a real name for himself this season and into the playoffs, and his play, along with his toughness, should earn him a nice payday this summer. Along with the Warriors, he's expected to have interest from at least one other team. According to Marc Stein, Looney has a meeting set up with the Houston Rockets.

Butler to meet with Heat, Rockets

Jimmy Butler is expected to meet with the Miami Heat and Houston Rockets once free agency begins, in addition to a meeting with the Philadelphia 76ers. Those teams do not have the requisite cap space to sign him, and would have to work out a sign-and-trade with the Sixers. In addition, Butler has interest from the Lakers and Nets, according to Shams Charania.

Celtics to renounce Rozier

The Celtics are expected to sign Kemba Walker once free agency begins, which means they'll move on from Terry Rozier. According to Yahoo's Chris Haynes, the Celtics will renounce their rights to Rozier. The young guard struggled last season after his breakout playoff campaign in 2018, but is still expected to draw interest from numerous teams.

Rose, Pistons have mutual interest

According to a report from ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, the Detroit Pistons will meet with Derrick Rose once free agency begins, and the two sides have mutual interest in a two-year deal. Rose spent last season-plus with the Minnesota Timberwolves, and received votes for Most Improved Player last season.

Irving expected to sign with Nets for four years, $141M

While nothing will be official until the league's moratorium period ends, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.com is reporting that Kyrie Irving will meet with the Brooklyn Nets in New York on Sunday and both sides are motivated to move quickly on an agreement to a four-year, $141 million contract. With Irving in the fold, the Nets can now set their sights on finding another star player to pair him with.

Walker plans to sign with Celtics for four years, $141M

It appears the Boston Celtics have a replacement for Kyrie Irving. According to Shams Charania of The Athletic, Kemba Walker plans to sign a four-year, $141 million contract with Boston once free agency opens. Arguably the top guard on the market, Walker has played his entire career with the Charlotte Hornets and was named a starter in the 2019 All-Star Game.

Mirotic walks away from NBA free agency, opts to sign with Barcelona

Nikola Mirotic delivered the first surprise of NBA free agency on Saturday by opting to pass on potential free agency deals which could have reached the $50 million range in order to sign with Euroleague club Barcelona, according to Shams Charania of The Athletic. The Spaniard spent part of the 2018-19 season with the Milwaukee Bucks after the team acquired him at the trade deadline in a deal with the New Orleans Pelicans. Mirotic put together averages of 11.6 points and 5.4 rebounds while shooting 35.6 percent from beyond the arc.

Lakers confident about landing Kawhi

According to CBS Sports' Bill Reiter, the Lakers are extremely confident about landing Kawhi Leonard when free agency begins on Sunday. In addition, Marc Stein of the New York Times is reporting that the Lakers are being viewed as the "true threat" to the Raptors in terms of signing Leonard. The star is expected to meet with both the Lakers and Clippers, along with the Raptors.

Warriors, Klay plan quick agreement on $190M deal

The Golden State Warriors aren't going to waste any time with the free agency of sharpshooting guard Klay Thompson. According to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, the Warriors plan to offer Thompson a five-year, $190 million contract when free agency opens. Wojnarowski also notes that Thompson is likely going to accept the offer fairly quickly. In addition, both sides reportedly plan to agree to the deal, and that the Warriors' front office plans to meet with Thompson in Los Angeles over the next 24 hours.

Wolves to meet with Russell at start of free agency

The Minnesota Timberwolves could be looking to make a big splash when free agency opens on Sunday. According to Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports, the Timberwolves are set to meet with guard D'Angelo Russell when free agency begins. Russell is coming off a career year in which he averaged 21.1 points, 7.0 assists, 3.9 rebounds and 1.2 steals while shooting a career-high 36.9 percent from beyond the arc. The former second overall pick also made his first All-Star Game as a member of the Nets and helped lead the franchise to their first playoff appearance since the 2014-15 season.

So, Kyrie to Nets and Kemba to Celtics. Rozier not returning to Celtics. Big V staying in Orlando.

Surprised that Mirotic is giving up all that money to return to Spain. Also, surprised Collinson retired.

The rest sound more like rumors than done deals.

Yeah, the Mirotic decision is odd, but maybe he’s ready to be near home. He’s made his millions.

It’s going to be a crazy 48 hours.

The Nets will have a formal commitment from Kyrie Irving at their practice facility in two hours, league sources say, and -- as @NYTSports reported Monday -- have been aggressively pursuing a Kyrie/Kevin Durant/DeAndre Jordan trio in hopes of luring Durant away from Golden State

It will be interesting to see how Durant returns after his injury. Cousins hasn't been the same since his achilles. Now he is a bench player who comes in and maybe hits 10-12. Before his injury he was a force. Durant being the best offensive player since Kobe could struggle as well. They say it takes 2 years. If, after his 2 years he is still playing the game doctors say he should be back to normal. However, that means 3 years older.

Don't get me wrong...Durant is a once in a generation player, but he also suffered a terrible injury for an athlete. And, he isn't a young player. It's definitely a gamble for any team to throw that much $$$ at him.

I think the Knicks made the right decision on KD. He’s out next season and the following he may play only 50 games (load management, my guess) and who knows at what level. PDX is right, it’s a two year recovery and that’s assuming he returns to 75-85% of his old self (no way he’s ever 100%). Heck, he’s no spring chicken. Remember, he played his rookie year in Seattle.

The Leonard bomb has still yet to drop.

Butler in Miami? Okay dude. Seems like he wants to be the man in South Beach more than he wants to win. I’m not saying he’s wrong if that’s his motivation. It’s his life and he’ll probably have a ton of fun.

I like Middleton, Hill and Lopez staying in Milwaukee.

Brogdon to the Pacers should help them a lot. He was a 50/40/90 guy before his foot injury. Dude is good. And they were a very good team before Oladipo went down.

Horford still unsigned? I wonder who gets him. EDIT - Wow, Philly! East favorite right now, assuming Leonard leaves.

I’m glad Harris is staying in Philly. They were a Leonard 4-bouncer from OT in game 7. Embiid is the stuff, if he’s healthy.

And Portland giving Lillard $196M for 4 years!? That’s $258M over the next six seasons. Holy Toledo! He’s great, but that team will never sniff the finals. They’ll have near 80% of their cap with two guards. I don’t see it.

I kind of agree with you guys. He's 31 when the season starts next year, and assuming he takes the year of to recover, he'd be 32 by the time he actually plays, and maybe 33 before he's fully recovered. Assuming he even comes back 100%, he's going to be fighting father time before too long after that. He's still Durant though. He might not be quit as dominant as before, but he's still going to be better than 90% of the NBA.

I hope he stays with Toronto, but like I said, I have this bad feeling he's a childhood Lakers fan. I'd much rather see him go to the Clippers though, as oddly enough, their franchise is the much better run one now. Still, the Lakers with their dumb luck will still probably get him and have probably one of the best teams on paper, going into the season. Gawd, their fans will be completely insufferable.

Butler in Miami? Okay dude. Seems like he wants to be the man in South Beach more than he wants to win. I’m not saying he’s wrong if that’s his motivation. It’s his life and he’ll probably have a ton of fun.

Yeah, don't really get that one. Wasn't he the one that was going crazy in Minnesota because the team wasn't being competitive enough?

I like Middleton, Hill and Lopez staying in Milwaukee.

I do too. Giannis is coming into his own, and that's going to be a fun team.

And Portland giving Lillard $196M for 4 years!? That’s $258M over the next six seasons. Holy Toledo! He’s great, but that team will never sniff the finals. They’ll have near 80% of their cap with two guards. I don’t see it.

They had too. Dame is the face of that franchise, and frankly, who else were they going to get with that money?
