When really funny people die, everyone loses a little.

When comedic genius' die, it's a toll hard to quantify.

Despite where you'll hear he was an actor in,

Entourage, or The Larry Sanders show,

he also acted in a little Gem of a movie that has a little element of timelessness from around 1990 or so, called
" Canadian Bacon", or Operation Canadian Bacon,

it also had Richard Jeni, John Candy, Alan Alda, and Rhea Pearlman, the first 3 have also already died, iirc;

so many famous people die as years compound,

There are some other fancy movies that just didn't get the love they deserved for being pictures of artwork in comedy and good writing,

Cool Runnings, "the positively true adventures of the alleged texas cheerleading murdering mom"
"in broad daylight" "noises off"
" a life less ordinary" "fools rush in" "what's the worst that could happen"
"the great outdoors"

but, yet, Rip Torn was a Character actor, (like Tommy Lee Jones) or Jack Nicholson, or John Ritter,

When true living legends die, everybody loses a little something.

When I was in college, it was my Friday night ritual to watch the Larry Sanders show. Rip was great in that, I loved that show.

I just saw in a movie this last weekend with John Candy... Summer Rental... not a good movie, in fact I didn't even finish it, but I'll always appreciate him for Larry sanders.

Sorry to hear Rip passed away, but did you really just compare him to Jack Nicholson and Tommy Lee Jones?!?

Sad loss. Happy trails, Rip. Stand down.

I think we should mention the Men in Black franchise. Solid support.

Rest in Peace.

Yes. And I get Nicholson's last name confused with the famous golfer sometimes.

And reading the thread title,
If strikes me as something like, "sex, marry, kill, or would you rather, or rock paper scissors,

anyway: Sorry for his family and friends, God bless them.

Vers? would you feel better if I had compared Danny DeVito to Jack Nicholson and Tommy Lee Jones?

Another living legend of Comedy and artistic creation,

in fact, I feel, Nicholson Third!, Jones 2nd, and Rip Torn First, would probably be the most interesting conversation/interview if you gave them zero script.
And some people have more creative minds, and tell better stories, and that's where the beauty lies,

And others would more consider the portraying of emotions through words and facial expressions and such, as morso to be prized,
but not me! I prefer the story.

Have you watched "It's always sunny in Philadelphia"
Have you watched " Archer" some other more mainstream examples,

Shows that make me go "Whaaaaaat just happened"

Can Deshaun Watson play better for the Browns, than Baker Mayfield would have? ... Now the Games count.

I owe you an apology. I never watched the Larry Sanders show and I got Rip Torn confused w/Rip Taylor. I had no idea how you could compare Rip Taylor to Jack Nicholson. My mistake and my apologies.

Btw......here is Rip Taylor:
