According to Savage's presser, our QBs will look like this.
Anderson--starter Quinn--back-up Dorsey--mentor
Imagine that!
Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

I'd say the over/under on when Quinn gets in the Cincy game is now 1.5 quarters. What think ye.......... If I were DA I'd call my agent and make sure my investment portfolio is in order......

Allow me to ask you, can you tell me a team that you think has a really good track record with mid-round picks?

Your right, they no had business drafting Frye in the 1st place....all he did was make the Browns fans feel all warm on the inside when he was drafted(way too high) cause he was a backyard boy... he hasn't improved one bit from day 1.
Wow, you love to troll this board.
Drafted too high? He was projected as a 2nd rounder.
Now go watch your Bungles, and watch how the officials throw bogus flags to save your team.
sorry, I know a lot more has been said since this post but it really stuck out. He was projected as a second rounder by the MEDIA.
What in his skill-set made him a potential second rounder though?? A 3rd rounder? It's not a knock on CF but I agree with Impact. At the very least, it wasn't a trolling comment.
The more popular explanation is that the browns 'finally' caught a break, Rogers slid down to 24 where GB nabbed him in the first, and therefore CF slid to us in the 3rd...
GB was looking at drafting Frye in the first rown until Rogers slid to them. That is hardly the "MEDIA" projecting him in the 2nd round. That's what makes impact's statements trolling. He made things up that didn't happen.

Maximizing the potential of all four QBs... So we basically traded Frye for Dorsey and a 6th round pick...

Savage drafted Frye early 3rd round (Top 70 pick), gave him 19 starts and developed him while tanking 2 seasons for it.....and now he trades him for a supposedly low 6th rounder?
Guess U figured how the round he was selected and U stopped there.
19 STARTS produced WHAT this year? Did he show he was a steal? Third round QB's are usually PROJECTS..say it with me...PROJECTS..
No, 3rd round QBs should be decent backups (shrewd, SEA thinks just that..and they´re contenders)...and Frye is a decent enough backup.....makes no sense to dump him for next to nothing. Cut Anderson and it´s +/- Zero...but Frye was a mistake either back in 2005 or now...pick your poison, Savage blew it here, sorry...and I´ve been and still am a Savage supporter
Frye is a decent back-up... I'll give you that. I think Savage drafting him was thinking that he MIGHT turn into a starting QB, which he hasn't...so we had two back-up QBs on our roster... we have been hoping for a trade for one of them since the preseason... so we got a trade, got rid of a back up (he'll be the third QB for the hawks), brought in another back-up for next to nothing... and still have Quinn... in my mind we didn't lose anything, and gained a 6th round pick.
I liked Frye. Was hoping he would stay as the back-up, but it jsut didn't fall that way. He had trade value and DA didn't. I had a feeling that they were going to get rid of either DA or Frye either way and keep Ken. Guess this is the round a bout way of doing it... and again we got a draft pick out of it.
Only thing that erks me is that Quinn will be pushed into the starting role earlier than I would have liked.

j/k
I think the one positive about this is we won't have the rotating QB. We aren't going to see one in for a half just so he can suck it up and then see the other guy in the second half.
We needed to do this a long time ago. Get rid of one and let the other guy take the field until Brady is ready.
I also don't think it mattered which guy we went with because neither was going to be the savior to the offense.
We are now just counting the days until Quinn gets on the field.

Yeah, Savage said he likes to work with him because they cut to the chase. I imagine it went something like this:
Savage: You still want Charlie?
Ruskell: I don't know, we're thinking about signing Dorsey.
Savage: Charlie's better.
Ruskell: Really?
Savage: Oh yeah... much better. Taller too.
Ruskell: What do you want for him?
Savage: I don't think a second round pick is asking too much.
Ruskell: I'll give you a sixth, but one of us is going to look a little foolish doing this deal.
Savage: I'll take it... and I hope it's you. [hangs up] Get Dorsey in here!

How do you know GB was going to draft Frye in the first round?
32 NFL teams passed on him in the first round, and 32 NFL teams passed on him in the second round. It may be results-oriented, but I put a lot more stock in that than what some self-proclaimed draft expert says on ESPN.
Even if you disagree with me, which is fair enough, I honestly think impact takes a lot of grief on here that he doesn't deserve. JMO, but I think a lot of bungles fans would be (should be?) a lot more harsh regarding some of the things the browns have done or how they've performed in the past.
No matter how you slice and dice it, we messed up on Frye. Either then or now, I personally think it was then.

I know it because the Packers front office was quoted as saying they were. Why would they lie?
I don't think we messed up drafting Frye. I think we messed up in the expectations. A backup QB with a 3rd round pick isn't a bad deal.
As for impact, I defend him on here more than anyone....but to make the statements he did was just trolling.

Coach if I came off as trolling to you or anyone, that wasn't my intent at all..you can believe me or not.But I'm not about to secure any kind of praise or credibilty on a message board....I just call it like I see it.....If people don't like my opinions,so be it....can't please everyone.....

Not a big deal, oneway or the other.BQ will eventually take his rightful place as the hier-apparent.The 6th rounder will be picked and promptly cut.CF will blaze his path thru the NFL as an intriging 3rd stringer. Just what qualities does he have that makes him a good WCO qb? Quick decision making-nope. Pin point passer-naw. Ability to find and get the ball to an open reciver-hard to say. Mobility-yes.
Indecision may,or maynot,be my problem

I was just listening to a radio show and the two guys said after the game Frye went off on the coaching staff and everyone around him, not sure if this is true or if it was a goof, just something I heard.

I highly doubt it. On STO after the game, he said he understood the decision and was very graceful. No way can I see him acting like that.

DeiselDawg said it huh? wow,, Brilliant,, SIMPLY Brilliant
It's come to my attention though some back channel discussions with DeiselDawg that I and several others mis understood what he was saying about this day being remembered for Frye as opposed to the Terrorist attacks.
DD, I was wrong, please accept my apology! I now know you meant no disrespect,,, again, sorry.

B is looking at it with a touch of personal bias... It was obvious before Frye was cut... And even more obvious after...
He may have been a jackstud in H.S. B but he is what he is..
I do wish the kid well... He is from my area (never met him) and I hope he can make himself a nice career somewhere... Backup/3rd string or whatever else the league has in store for him...

Thats why I said I wasn't sure if it was a goof or not, I figured goof, since it would have made national media, not some nowhereville radio show.
Thanks for the info.

No, I look at it with a touch of reality. You can disagree all you want, but just because I think the kid was a class act, known him on a very periphial basis, and was coached by the same guy doesn't sway my opinion. It makes me want him to succeed, but doesn't blind me with homerism. Sorry you can't say the same.

Say the same ... As in knowing him?
Never EVER doubted him as a person B just so we are clear nor have I flamed him as such...
My doubts were with my own two eyes ON the Field... OBVIOUSLY the team agrees more with my line of thinking as he is now wearing Seahawk Green... Hope he stays in touch with you and that he does well for them... I am sure he will work as hard to improve as he did here...

No, I mean that I can put aside personal feelings to make evaluations. Obviously, and I've stated this myself, Quinn will be better than Frye could ever have been. I've said that since the draft. The difference is that Frye being traded doesn't prove the FO agrees with you. As Diam has said, it is just as likely it meant that someone was willing to give something for Frye and not DA.
